The odds the All Stars will quinella the race are tiny which leaves the others fighting for $20 000 for 3rd and $12 500 for 4th. Again the odds are the All Stars will fill third place tonight which means most are running for 4th and that stake is only fractionally more than the winner of the R50+ pacing race will win. No wonder there are no horses willing to go to Auckland. It makes no economic sense at all. Viva La Omakau. But you are right in what you say, it is true, just true in the tiny world of wonder you live in with nary a care for anyone other than the high flyers of the industry.

Fair play to Mick G, he did briefly mention the dominance of All Stars, echoes what we say on here. No disrespect to the feats of the Mark and Natalie but harness would be better if there was more competition at the top band.

Over recent years I would say Oamaru has the least in attendance of any course probably due to the amount of meetings they have there. Even at Xmas it is pretty small. The members stand is a good place to watch but the public stand is past the post like most places which is very deceiving.
