  1. Possibly be more turnover without them?
  2. Here is what we do in NZ , we employ people to copy off what they have done in Australia , I can't think of anything original to come out of NZracing in years. The new website bears a distinct resemblance to racing.com.
  3. How good is Enable, seriously impressive on the AW at Kempton.
  4. Not to mention Jockey Agents that are tipping horses on preview shows, that just screams conflict of interest , I've never understood why they have allowed that, well I do cause those who run it aren't punters, breeders or owners so don't understand a thing!
  5. I agree , I never thought I'd feel this way (betrayed if you like ) by the industry but I'm also questioning my involvement , should this proceed or not ,you just can't trust those running the sport thats being shown to be true ,or a lot of those in the sport having revealed their true colours.
  6. Who knows gallops code may be next.
  7. Great post I think you're bang on!
  8. Don't worry they are.
  9. Yep you're exactly right, in fact I'm of the opinion you only need your premier tracks to have excellent facilities the rest that are mostly running industry race days and are for TV races or summer festival are a different experience altogether, but lets face it this is just BS to get through what they want to. I don't imagine crowd attendances will increase outside of the norm at any of these locations due to track closures, they are alienating a whole bunch of future punters, racegoers , breeders and communities with these closures , I believe racing is going to become even less relevant than it is today(that's hard to believe) in this country if these recommendations take effect.
  10. Going to be interesting to see how he goes with the new stock bought at the sales, at the moment a lot of these runners have the Autridge polish on them. I'm sure he'll go well as he has assembled a nice team of experienced horse people around him, one things for sure he's gonna "Thank Dave " no matter what happens.
  11. Sums it all up really. Really poor form from many of these people who know very well a lot of proposed recommendations such as track closures borders on theft and their lack of empathy for those impacted says a lot about them really well it says "me me me me!!!"
  12. Yes incredibly disappointing to see their general attitude regarding the M Report also.
  13. Not to mention all of the trainers they are interviewing they are all from locations that are beneficiaries of the report, not to worry about the others impacted by the recommended closures. Balanced reporting indeed.
  14. The mere fact that NZTR are applauding the disposal of 20 community clubs racecourses should enable anyone to understand how they've performed for the industry.
  15. Exactly half what Te Aroha was last weekend
  16. I'm somewhat puzzled by the admiration for the group. I get it that they are getting involved in punting, some form of ownership (I see Te Akau now on board giving free ownership into a couple of nice horses, a great way for TA to get some email addresses to hit up for ownership in the future) . Bu there are a lot of people in this industry who have been in it for years , who have served at club level, been owners breeders , punters and race goers through the good times and the bad and they have been absolutely ignored for years and not just recently, though I see NZTR came up with a token award for club stalwarts too little too late imo. The other interesting facet is that the BGP group expect to get treated like royalty at the races just through their numbers, age group etc , what about the poor owner/breeder etc who has been banging away at it for years and barely get a hello from the industry he has supported for years? I guess my beef isn't with the BGP crowd its with the industry itself, racing is very good at ignoring about its base for the latest shiny new thing. I guess alot of them go to Te Aroha to help out Ted at their working bees?
  17. Some good chances that may be extinguished by their draws ? SP, UTM,AP???
  18. Rich Hill Good on them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ji0Hg3WqCAA&feature=youtu.be
  19. Just like some of the fools that want to get rid of jumps racing , lunacy. Ignorance is bliss if you don't know how racing in this country works. Never have so many know-it-alls known so little!!!
  20. Post away. I thought Redwood was part of the Auckland tour?
  21. Was there Cricket on when the sand was applied?
  22. i wonder if any of the studs will take the lead of the Aus studs and video the parade like they have, I unfortunately can't make it this year but would love to see Almanzor.
  23. This is what worries me about the Messara report, closing down tracks is invariably going to be a major part of it and the ones that will be likely closed should be being better utilised by the industry in the first place. I think one of NZ problems is you have persons in positions who are happy to over race their tracks to justify their positions instead of someone taking a more linear view and trying to get the best out of what is available.
  24. What's the problem ? They have spent a million on the inside interior and looks great!
