  1. Minimal crowd happens all on its on , probably most of the venues not being used are more likely to get a crowd than the current ones.
  2. Should be re-opening plenty more not just this track, utilise all available venues .
  3. No it needs to get away from business cases & worry about how it impacts the training & development of the horse. Too many BS business cases have led to this dead end direction we are heading in at the minute. Give them a business case & they'll put a hospital,Kmart & a kindergarten next to the winning post. Time racing worried about it's core product - the animal.
  4. You do you Awapuni, you do you!
  5. Not just officials , the guy whose supposed to be leading the reconnaissance of the sport!
  6. If the tracks that arent being used need to be used they should tell the industry to get stuffed! They'll only be getting used by an industry that never gave a stuff about them in the first place. Get those chickens home to roost an industry that deserves everything it has coming to it!
  7. Wouldn't put it past them for it to be BS, in their best interests to put some photos out or get the Lexus out and do some skids! The industry is falling apart at the seams , thank goodness it only happened in the "Off Season"!
  8. Auckland only have horses there on race day. The mix very rarely works and we usually see one take precedence over the other & it's never racing. Look at Trentham for starters although next to no horses trained there the rot has well and truly set in. It'll happen elsewhere to the detriment of racing.
  9. and this is the issue with the so called attempting to utilise the assets for something else, most of it doesn't mix particularly well with thoroughbreds! The CEO is showing himself to be another clueless patsy with his comments here. Anyone who has an idea for for utilsing the assets outside racing should be made to ride a young horse around at the same time and see if they still have the same enthusiasm. We talk a big game regarding safety and then we get this type of rubbish.
  10. That's the point it is their job to identify these problems/issues well ahead of the prospect of abandonment and moving meetings is even considered. They haven't and they won't. That's been born out by their persistence and ignorance around closing venues. The biggest issue with NZTR is they have absolutely no idea how the industry works , clueless and I mean clueless about how it functions. It would function better and has done so in the past without them.
  11. Never happen, easy money and no accountability add to that they don't give a s**t about the industry and they are happy to stay on a very good wicket indeed!
  12. I don't agree, its the utilization of the existing tracks that matters. The fools thought they could close half the tracks and just keep racing , no planned transition nothing . They also never bothered to look at the contribution each track makes to the industry i.e Levin, Foxton,Te Teko etc just close venues down and everything continues as normal absolutely clueless! Yes I know all the venues have their problems but they all have a place in the industry at this point as the industry has shown time and time again that it cannot exist without them. You'll see the real demise of this industry when the circus starts selling off venues, there is no plan ,there is no initiative but apparently there is a process to follow! Leased venues being given priority, tracks with town creep and a few acres ownership being the focus of the future , venues where no training takes place made a priority ... its nothing more than a clown show with no plan and no map of the future. Funniest thing yesterday the guy from Awapuni is going to re consult with the experts that got them to where they are now , thats the type of person you have in leadership roles in this industry.
  13. Time to race at the tracks the circus closed.
  14. So long as they are looking at the "Process" LMAO!
  15. Agree , the same clown show producing this utter shambles want to be entrusted with the sales proceeds of country racing venues an absolute circus!
  16. 20 races at Woodville now , while Awapuni follow the plans and processes ???
  17. Definitely too sharp a bend , the report should be informative ... not!
  18. Industry run by nepotism and incompetence nothing more humorous than what is going on , don't worry its just going to take a while for the track to bed in like Ellerslie. Meanwhile owners can be expected to cop the brunt of the bill for that bedding in process.
  19. Quickly transfer the meeting to Waverley???
  20. NZTR will do a report , so do not fret!
  21. Slip on the corner?
  22. Where are the "these tracks cost the industry money crowd " they used to be around a few years ago. The sport is stuffed when its run into the ground by absolutely clueless fools.
