Good point that is about 6 industry days worth of stakes money funding. -
Its a nice catalogue as well, with the likes of Contributor,Ocean Park,Vespa,Zacinto,Tavistock and Sacred Falls all represented. Of particular interest will be the Golden Horn and Tapit progeny in the sale.

Be interesting to know if the NZRB are getting some form of rebate from the website creators for a loss of revenue, clearly there are just so many things on the site that don't work or are utter crap and the creators aren't providing what they've promised as no one would accept to have such a white elephant of a site.

What about the drop back multi win horses that can make their way back to R65 they are also up or near the top in most cases.

I don't get this NZTR are making suggestions re the race day are they not , not whether the club/course has a future on its own, that has little to do with NZTR I'd have thought? If NZTR are silly enough to not give them a race date surely both codes can still train there?

Surely if the tracks stay open for the Harness persons to be used then the thoroughbred fraternity will just stay on board training at those venues? If they are to be closed for one code I'd have thought they'd be closed for both. They are just talking about losing licences for race dates at this point, the whole track closure side of things comes later.

Youre 100% correct, the problem in NZ racing is that its trying to go elitist racing without having a base to prop it up on. The Karaka Million Card was a great watch and a few of the fields were great betting races but it really come across like the very impression that most people have of racing in that its the sport of kings. I like the idea of the night , but it does feel a bit like racing is selling its soul in this country a bit like the common racing man/woman are excluded from the party and sold out for that night.

I think the industry is finding they are like his sire are slow maturing stock despite the one great season he had.

What put money into horses that aren't racing at 2yo or 3yos that's madness and so close to the sales as well, horses older than 2 or 3yos should only race on industry days ,whose interested in that lot ?there may be some cheap horses that go alright that have slipped through the cracks at sale time you can't have them racing for decent money that's not a quick return on your bloodstock investment! Not to mention they may also be by unfashionable stallions ...outrageous!

It isn't though is it? All you need is a couple of very big punters on course to distort that or a punters comp. Take today at Rotorua the on course figs will look good if the punter who put $15k on the Marsh runner did it on course totes. Tickets issues would be interesting figures for most meetings.

I like it so far, some neat options, streaming works well. I'm sure they'll tweak it in part as needed. Seems to be a site that will take a few weeks to get the hand of, no different to 365 or Ladbrokes in that regard.

Surely you'd awesome the buyer that signed for it was the one whose colours it would race in though? Not really the breeder who you'd have thought only took a small share.

Certainly was quiet over the XMas/NY carnival and not eally kicking on in Aus with much. Got some very well breed types coming up for sale at Karaka out of Seachange,Glamorous Girl,Lady Firebird(full to HiFlyer),Kind Return,Lady Kipling,La Sizeranne,Sara Ann,Shez Sinsational,Sursum Corda,Queens Rose to name but a few must be his strongest book yet. Will the buyers come for them?

The hypocrisy in the industry used to amaze me but not anymore, the game is rigged race dates, extra races,marketing and promotion, infrastructure funding the list goes on. Sad fact it could be so much better if it just did its best to help everyone feel part of something instead of just 8-10 tracks.
