  1. I think NZTR would have put standards in place if they could have, but they knew as well as many the standards would have most likely illuminated the incompetence at the wrong venues for their narrative. In my view the Venue Plan of BS has done the most harm to the industry, even more so than the M report, many are too blind to see it, but in time it will also impact on the sustainability of the favoured venues.
  2. Me thinks your confidence is misfounded - 6 months later in NZ ....!
  3. It's comforting to know that NZTR will have a back up plan for racing in about 6 months or perhaps just another hard hitting email from the CEO?
  4. Complete joke, doing anything and everything to make the AWT appear to be seen as the answer.
  5. True , but then the 2yo black type race in Feb. run at New Plymouth is usually poorly supported, at least these winter 2yo races seem to attract ok sized fields usually & because of the bog tracks give CD trainers a chance against the northerners.
  6. Sometimes those noms don' t update till overnight online , so I'd expect some larger fields. But look at the programming again, we have a 3yo 1400m (initially 5 ir 6 noms) a week before these horses are 4yos and no mdn 1400m race , it isn't rocket science to work out how to get better field sizes in some instances.
  7. The easy solution and common sense solution, substituting a Saturday meeting for a Thursday meeting(when that is an option) in terms of interest and wagering turnover is just plain dumb , even by their incredibly low standards!
  8. Nope, they now get the opportunity to race at Te Rapa , because no alternative tracks available , its now just pure comedy! Where is Bernard Saundry when you need him around to enjoy the fruits of his labour!
  9. Here is the real end game A manufactured Asset Grab. "But the repeated failure of some tracks to measure up to the required standard will only boost calls for more track closures, especially when struggling tracks could in some cases be sold for tens of millions and their clubs, and the overall industry, use that money to hold vastly enriched meetings as tenants at other tracks."
  10. That's probably the idea.
  11. No sympathy for the clown show at NZTR, where is Bernard when we need him? NZTR are currently reviewing if any programming changes are necessary, or even possible, off the back of the Rotorua abandonment on Saturday. Suffice to say there are numerous challenges around the suitability of several tracks to carry a heavier workload given the extraordinary amount of rainfall throughout the country. This will be reviewed and notification given after nominations tomorrow.
  12. Will Levin be congratulated?
  13. NZTR again applaud ATR for doing something , that they have allowed them a dream run to do so! Oh the irony of it all. https://loveracing.nz/News/37226/NZTRapplaudsATRannouncement.aspx
  14. Here I was thinking it was someone close to the trainer who reported it?
  15. Odds on you're not wrong on this one.
  16. Gee , those Trentham sectionals will be useful for future form and punting analysis!
  17. What will be most interesting will be when the CD AWT kicks off, if a certain well connected , strike rate trainer doesn't like it we may see some interesting developments.
  18. I know what youre saying, but even despite such biases and incompetency surely its in the best interests of an industry body to at least attempt to try to fix things, this lot just do absolute nothing and thing they have done well.
  19. Do not fear the inevitable ... it will be an absolute s**t show!
  20. I think its pretty challenging for CD trainers also, two meetings with a number of maidens are abandoned before a race is run and no replacement races are put in place for trainers looking for a 1200, 1400, 1600 etc .... its an absolute clown show and the communication and organisation hasn't improved and iota since the last pretender was in charge at NZTR.
  21. It will all end in disaster, despite what some of the cheerleaders are saying.
  22. Yes and it's presented to the industry like it will resolve all its issues.
  23. This is absolutely great they do this , but they have to start getting off their butts and being more proactive. Where are the replacement meetings going to be held? It's absolutely essential that $$s are flowing through the industry somehow, Hawera called off twice now, Woodville and many others also. They are simply too unflexible and have thus dug themselves into a hole with the track situation, largely caused by the incompetence of BS and his Venue plan with a touch of the M report to really ram it home. Surely the new CEO has enough sense and is brave enough to open the industry up again and properly utilize all its assets? It's not good enough to continually blame the weather or tell the industry Trentham remains open , there surely needs to be a plan for this? How do we have a CEO & COO and hear or see absolutely no progress or backup plans for the industry? It's becoming beyond a clown show.
  24. Any truth to the rumour Awapuni AWT is so tight they can only have 8 starters per race? Couldn't be true?
  25. Was it a good idea to sell Stratford then , being so close to New Plymouth?
