  1. Yet more evidence of the ineffectivess of the diabolical ill thought out venue plan .
  2. What did other industry particpants get?
  3. Happening across the board Mikey. Costs through the roof, returns through the floor. Staff hard to come by, racemeetings a 50/50 to go nowadays, Calendar and programming woeful and all the while overseen by a bunch of incompetents who wouldn't know the state of the industry if they woke up to it every morning!
  4. These people are proven to be wrong more and more as each week goes by. The venue plan has proven to be nothing short of disastrous , that was always going to be the case when the plan was based on self interest, extreme bias and a misguided view on how the industry works. We are only just begining to see the effects of it on the industry at the moment , it will get worse over time is my prediction.
  5. So even if this colt ends up any good , he is very likely to be serving mares in Australia in the future. Dundeel 2? https://loveracing.nz/News/36245/Arrowfieldtakessharein900000Kingsclerecolt.aspx
  6. I see , we appear to be doing the opposite here, devolving provincial facilities to race at major centres . Shame to see Sandown go , I think it provides great competitive racing.
  7. Absolutely and one of the courses that has clearly been suffocated by NZTR (in particular since the M report) to the detriment of the industry. When we need every available track we have.
  8. I'm surprised this is even an issue in Aus. Seems like Sandown is needed there I'd have thought, well Melbourne that is especially midweek. Personally Sandown one of my favourite tracks to punt at , so be a shame to see it go, that long straight is superb.
  9. Just what I thought, NZTR have a habit of rescheduled meetings about as far away from the original meeting as possible, but then what choice do they have when they've gone out of their way to close most courses in between.
  10. Best of luck with that!
  11. Best of Bordeaux for me, Rise of the Masses and Ojai for some value.
  12. Some Classics in the Slipper Daumier (Blue Diamond winner) - Untested in Wet , looking to others. Rise of the Masses (Pago Pago winner) Going up in class can't have. - Not to mentio drew 20! Sweet Ride - (2nd in Pago Pago) Rises in Class, rank outsider.
  13. I don't recall it. One thing for sure time for the mandatees to go, they clearly haven't worked. Although some bright spark will try to say it could have been worse...I doubt it.
  14. What happened some of these jocks not get Vaxxed or something? Meeting News Tauranga Meeting now Sunday 20 March Due to a high number of riders being unavailable to ride this weekend the Racing Tauranga meeting scheduled for this Saturday will push back 24 hours to Sunday. This will enable some riders from Trentham to also ride at Tauranga on Sunday. The seven races at Tauranga remain open until 9am this morning (Wednesday).
  15. We all know what is going to happen...
  16. I'm not knowledgeable so can't help there. But imo we have an industry being run for the few and not the majority, thats reflected in programming in general and more specifically around your comments on the 3yo race at Trentham. The biggest issue I have with the programming is that there is quite simply no pathway to these races , it's all just thrown together with no future meetings or races in mind , actually a lot like the calendar has become. It can't be hard to work out horse numbers in specific areas(might help them utilize race tracks and industry resources better for a start) and schedule race dates and or specific races that would assist the industry , but instead it seems the programming and calendar is just plucked from the sky. That makes me think two things a) we have very incompetent administration and/or b) the programming and calendar is agenda based .I believe it to be a combination of the two and getting worse .
  17. They simply haven't got a clue & like abandoned meetings no one seems to care and it just goes on and on.
  18. We are just lucky that NZTR got them all vaccinated so it was never going to be an issue for the industry...!
  19. Book 2 yesterday surely an example of what happens when incompetent leadership within the industry kick the grassroots to the kerb one too many times? I'm sure it'll be all blamed on Covid though. Hopefully for the hardworking vendors there is some recovery in the next 2 days.
  20. Probably something to do with the sales, everything seems to revolve around them these days.
  21. Yes appears as though that amazing stud has got another one right.
  22. 6 of the top 15 sold to date are by Aus. based sires and 5 by Savabeel doesn't take a rock scientist . Also a real worry for NZ has to be finding an heir apparent to Savabeel.
  23. I can't get my head around why anyone their right mind would be paying these prices to race a horse in NZ?
  24. Yes , I also noticed that betting figures will be interesting. All in all a dull nondescript Derby Day to say the least, expecting Cup day to look even worse.
  25. Huey

    ATC. - RIP!!

Six races with no 3rd divvy says it all. Four races at Awapuni with no 3rd divvy yesterday also. Gallops code will get where harness is soon enough if it continues to be run like it is. At least their mandates have protected the industry from Covid - LMAO!
