  1. Yep...actually I'd say Plushenko was at least 8/10 widths out according to this photo...50M from the finish!
  2. Interesting after that NM... George Simon who knows McGovern well told us he expects Jockeys to be ready AT ALL TIMES.... Hes old school....unfortunately he's come into a system where ALL starters throughout the country were told to start this way....standardisation it's called... The problem being he wasn't prepared for a re/set button and yelling out "WASH YA GATES" Gripper had part of it right "ok last one coming up riders" Thats where it should end....nothing else needs to be said.... ...this b/s WASH YA GATES has created 4 races where horses have struck the barriers head on now....
  3. Yea na to that...he actually rides Bulls at the Rodeos around the country Although one day 2 weeks ago he must have got the lanolin out the night before and given his callouses a good old seeing to... He was down to ride the 20L trial winner ENDLESS DRAMA... It was simply beautiful to watch how a hardened Bull rider could ride a Thoroughbred so softly... He enjoyed it so much though...he forgot to let the brakes go and sat there like a ninny caught in the headlights Even George Simon was dumbfounded at the bare faced audacity... So his excuse?? Who the f cares? The pooor Punters had a right to watch soft hand Luke to at least give the neddy a couple around the ass let alone release the tight grip Race 6...watch and be amazed...all he got was a f in REPRIMAND https://loveracing.nz/RaceInfo/49591/6/Race-Detail.aspx
  4. Yep I think I pretty much said that big C... The real problem is this shouting whatever just before the gates open... Can you imagine THE ENGLISH DERBY starter yelling shit like WASH YA GATES?? Its happened twice in August at Riccarton.... "ok...wash ya gates.....oops didn't push the power button" A number charged the gates....again Nothing as bad as McGovern at HQ in March though Premier day...didn't get vet checked....same day down South Kylee Williams does a wee victory salute just before the post...fined 2 Hundy McGovern lets 4 horses race injured....3 of them 3rd last, 2nd last and last and he gets a... REPRIMAND F ME
  5. The start of this race was delayed 13 minutes due to a meeting between the Stipendiary Stewards, Jockeys, Trainers and Club Officials regarding the injuries sustained by two horses during the running of race one and five and it was of the opinion that it was not a track related issue and the meeting was to continue. So let moi translate...they THOUGHT it could have been Track related but decided it wasn't...
  6. Moi's dash or the Starters? If McGovern can't remember he could put a plaster over the starter hole button....which reminds him to press RE-SET...then Whip the plaster off after he's pressed re-set...but never ever say WASH YA GATES again... Cos if he screwed up the Jocks simply anticipate the start...and crash into the closed gates....again... Id say 3 strikes and you're out McGovern...go back to sleepy Muttamutta Pretty simple
  7. It's like a Car...put it into gear before it goes vroom vroom... Imagine the barriers being LIVE at all times and a bird acidently lets loose a big un after a night of Wind a loo??
  8. Yep..since Te Akau had criticised the Track, Mills bent over backwards for them and watered the crap out of it... Nek minute...Te Akau has 5 winners after looking pretty ordinary
  9. They stopped racing...had a meeting...the narrative was that the Track was possibly false in places and was the cause of the deaths... ...however the Jocks agreed to carry on...sans cameras
  10. Yes NM, this was in before this incident as well, Cameron George didn't like the idea of mounting possibly injured horses and making them jump more fences 639 In a Jumping Race a horse which, refusing to jump an obstacle, is led over it by a person or which is given a lead over an obstacle by a person not riding in the Race, shall be, in addition to any other penalty which may be imposed, disqualified for that Jumping Race. 640 (1) The following provisions apply to Hurdle Races and Steeplechase Races: (a) in every case where the course to be run is not wholly enclosed by rails or where part of the course is indicated by a special mark of any description, a Stipendiary Steward or official appointed by the Stipendiary Stewards for the purpose shall on the day of the Race explain, indicate or point out to all Riders the course and all flags, posts, drums and boundary marks being used. Any subsequent removal or alteration of any flag, post, drum or boundary mark indicating the course and any new flag, post, drum or boundary mark shall not, unless explained, indicated or pointed out to all Riders by a Stipendiary Steward or other Official of the Race Meeting, have any effect for any purpose in connection with the course; (b) if a horse misses a jump its Rider shall not proceed in the Race until the horse has negotiated the jump; (c) if a horse and/or Rider falls or gets away from its Rider after a race has started, that horse shall take no further part in the race. (d) where there is a flight of hurdles, including a brush hurdle, or a moveable steeplechase fence which has to be jumped more than once and in the course of the first or any subsequent time over such hurdles or fence a panel therein is knocked over, it shall be permissible but not obligatory to re-erect, replace or remove such panel before the next time round provided however that no such panel may be re-erected or removed until all horses still retaining their Riders and in the Race have passed over that jump on the round where such panel was knocked over;
  11. Here's the rule (c) if a horse and/or Rider falls or gets away from its Rider after a race has started, that horse shall take no further part in the race Kuru actually yelled out to the Clerk of the Course...."is it ok to carry on" The COC should have known the tule and said NO Stipe Goodwin then rang around his Stipe mates and asked "how can we bend the rules for this" And they made up some b/s story about "oh it was all in one motion...that's the difference" Yea na...And the rule still fails to mention the definition of a fall as described by the International Federation of Equestrians So Goodwin could make up another cock and bull load of bollocks like last time...
  12. Yep Sammy Wynne "to be sure Sammy...put yer oideers away that the rail is da shorrrrtest way hoime...oi Kay" Straight Sets...fell out...went to the rail...finished with a wet sail doiwn da oitside to be sure Where it wasn't wet!
  13. So another f up by the Highly touted ex HK starter McGovern... After Gripper and Scooter didn't bother reading the Starters Manual and got the DCM...post City of Auckland Cup debacle... McGovern came out of retirement in sleepy Muttamutta...and promptly fell asleep! Forgot to push the re-set button at the HQ Premier meeting... ...yelled out "WASH YA GATES"...the Jocks anticipated the start...as ya do...and almost all of the field hit the front of the stalls... Did the Macca get anything vet checked?? NA! Four horses came back injured with 3 bleeding ffs! So to Pukekohe a couple of weeks ago....AGAIN forgot to push the re-set button....just a few hit the stalls this time... ...a few too F IN many though! At least the Stipe at the start butted in before Old Tones could press the button with vet checking this time... Maybe Tones should tape a big reminder notice across the Starters panel PUSH THE F IN RE SET YOU FOOL Read and weep LIVVY LASS, IL AFFARE and PACIFIC MASTER all removed from the barrier after striking the front of the gates being cleared fit to race after undergoing veterinary examinations. Starter Mr T McGovern reported that the incident was due to an attempt to start the race when the reset switch had not been activated FFS.
  14. There appears to be a Power Play going on here... Ive never known the hopeless RIU to be so confrontational to other orgs... Theyre in NZTR's face and I'm pretty sure they'll blink first... Cams back in no time...especially after the New Minister hears about it... Hold on to your daks
  15. Who knows? Rodely interviewed him..."we've put the sods back into place...outed the rail around the top where it's worn out...taken a few core samples which shows good moisture...everything's hunky dorey" The new Going Stick readings could have shown the 'core samples' to be all over the show...we'll never know if that contributed or not... Pitty told his Jockeys "its wet, come down the outside...like all of the other winners"
  16. So the day after the never ending appalling death rate in the Melbourne Cup... ...Avondale had 2 horses euthanised after breaking down....the worry was the uneven surface created by wind blown irrigation according to the RIU.... Bur really it was just a wild guess...why we wondered?? FORGETZ (C Burdan) - Faltered near the 700 metres and was quickly pulled up by its rider and immediately attended to by the Veterinarian and was humanely euthanized after being found to have suffered a significant leg injury. The rider advised that FORGETZ had been racing free of interference at the time but due to the reduction of Judicial cameras available, particularly the turn camera, the coverage of the incident was inconclusive. The area of the track was inspected by the Stipendiary Stewards without any significant findings. Oh yea...budget cuts thanks to the TAB Turnover up 10%...but who cares about SAFETY? #profitb4safety
  17. The Poms do Benny Hill so well! Although our Stipes have nothing to be smart about.... The same sort of thing happened when Oulaghans Chaser FELL...to the requirements of the Internationial Federational de Equestrianione thingy explanation i.e. both shoulder and hindquarter contacting the ground..which it did while sliding for 20M... Should have been a withdrawal...nek minute...it WINS! Rubber stamped by the hopeless RIU who ignored the rule....ok?
  18. Yea that too! Albeit....anywhere they inserted it...Punters have the ABSOLUTE right to know where their fake irrigation went.... ...weather it got blown over the fence into the Roses or all the way to the 'get pissed area'... ...just give Punters the info...and we'll work it out from there... None of this Oatham b/s of "Punters will get confused" Thanks John
  19. Prey tell moi how to....I've embedded the tweet and look what happened oh smart one
  20. Think you'll find Plushenko came through 5 widths off the rail...then veered in towards the finish... But...whatever wherever...the point surely is ALL readings taken up the straight should have been made available to Punters after they were taken before 7.30! Ive been hammering this for years and Pitty agrees...so much so he asked the previous CEO to provide such and "just f in do it ffs" Result....Oatham of the hopeless RIU said... "na, Punters will get confused" Actually John no....they have an absolute right to know whether the uneven irrigation system has created a rail bias...or not... Which is what the previous Te Rapa track manager admitted...."the rail has better drainage and is nearly always firmer than further off the rail" Just the opposite at Whanganui in winter...the rail's a death zone...yet they take readings to the 4.5M Mark from the rail...and ignore the running line...where the entire field races 5M from the outside fence How f'd is that?
  21. Removed Broken Link.
  22. A deadset Johnny Rotter of a few months for Kee Wee racing officials as well... Their Alan Whickers are well soiled I'm afraid...they've been channelling a 2 yo's pre potty training... Started with a starter of course...who lined up his Riccarton gates 30M short for a race...the same theme continued a few weeks later where half the field were loaded...then unloaded when a sleepy Stipe woke up to see the stalls in the wrong place...again ...whereupon a horse was kicked and injured amongst the confusion out the back...f me... The Handicapper resigned and all hell broke lose when his replacement couldn't read the rules properly and got his Weights all f'd up on a Premier day...Even Saundry was called into the room at HB and asked his opinion... ...Meanwhile Oatham had ordered a re weigh...all saddled up...again...then Pike protested...and won it...20 minutes later the race started What a f up.. More...a Clerk of the Scales didn't bother telling Stipes a Jockey was 1 kg overweight... ...HQ's prized Starter ex HONG KONG...vastly experienced, forgot to press the re set button...yelled "watch ya gates"...where nothing happened...apart from the Jocks anticipating the start with 3 horses smashing into the gates... Wait there's more...after a quick nightcap
  23. Well post post lockdown x2 I decided to biff the shackles and took up the 'see ya country option'...both Muriwai's IQ's and the nooks and crannies I visited shot up considerably I'm told... You?
  24. Fair crack . . .its been a dinky dye Betty Crocker of a past few weeks when it comes to Whip Integrity here . . . Just the last month we've had a race that had 4 violations in it...all fined.... Opee smashed his mount all the way up the straight...20 smashes in all...got up in the last stride over a horse that was struck 4 times...but of course kept the race as there's no protest allowed.. ...and this last weekend 3 violations on winners.... New research out suggests Whip V non Whip racing in the NH has an advantage of @3L to the Whip...who knew neddies try harder when smacked?? But it's an awful aesthetic...apart from the unfairness of winning against the rules...hello Melbourne Cup So the new Racing Victoria Whip rule was turned down by Racing Australia today...but expect its introduction specifically for Victoria soon az...because they're VERY determined Us? Well continue in our own wee World with the likes of Opee smacking mounts 20 times and keeping the race... Integrity NZ Style
