Wouldn't be good for the industry as a whole, for harness to survive we need to support all these small locations, how much betting comes out of Wellington with no local industry, not much I'd be picking
Putting shit like this on this site has just reached a new low, front up with your name , yeah I know that won't happen. Who ever runs this site should put there name up also for allowing it.
The way the trotters are going in the Dunn stable maybe they should be running in Craig's colours. Being a part time stable hand in the Dunn/Edmonds stable maybe this year they might take out the trainers premiership, either way they have a great team working out there and I look forward to Saturday mornings.
Very sad to see the language is slipping on this site with no action being taken. I do look forward to reading some of the posts but really I think it's time for a few of you to put on big boys pants and grow up.
Could be wrong but I'm sure in the build up They said Laz worked 1.51 during the week it would be interesting to know if the Master Mark had done anything like that race week.
Sorry can't tell you how many people have been injured in the last twenty years as I have only been in charge of it for the last four. I can tell you there have been some very close calls and it would only take one for health and safety to shut us down. I agree the photos aren't as good as before but I think there better than aucklands answer to the same problem. It is still a work in progress where we position the owners and sponsors on the platform but that unfortunately is where they are going to be. The problem with health and safety is if something goes wrong the buck stops with me then the club. I am a licensed stable hand and those shoes I wear are steel caps but even I don't get to close to a horse I don't know straight after a race. The above onwner does work with that horse but even he shouldn't have been out there. Im talking with the club to find out if license holders will be an exception to the new rules. Shame you didn't post the photo of the winners in the first tote race as you would have seen me on that platform and no I don't get paid for being there.
Oh no that is a sponsor and a owner in the above photo and who put that horse in the photo. With that photo and every other one taken on the night the owner is asked by me if they are happy having the sponsor in the photo or not.yes the platform is there for health and safety and being a club with paid directors the same as atc the club has much more liabilty than other trotting clubs around the country. Doing nothing wasn't an option and if you had my job on race night you would understand how difficult and can be keeping owners, sponsors and horses safe (well maybe not horses) ever tried herding cats.
