  1. Why is that though? Any thoughts? Can't just be because harness racing generates less coin through the TAB than the gallops. Surely there are other factors at play here?
  2. Thanks Happy. You don't get your money back, just bonus bets back and only on selected races. But you're right, does seem ridiculously easy to get some kind of return back. Good on them for running another promo, I guess my main point is why does the harness code get a bum deal on it, with only one race offered out of the whole promo period?
  3. Dead right Happy. The "dead money" bonuses are worth getting amongst but totally get your point Newmarket. Actually would have been better having an all up on those figures you quoted, to achieve a better return, but you certainly would have been expecting more coin than $600 for those divvis quoted.
  4. Looks like the popular Money Back Madness promo has been put to bed and a new promotion created with "Spring Loaded" - bonus bets back if your chosen runner doesn't win, nor run last. Nowhere near as good as the Money Back Madness promo, I actually quite liked it, but my question is why does harness racing get continuously treated as the retarded cousin? Sweet FA harness meetings covered. May have been one, at Motukarararararara (but I actually can't be forked to look up and see which code it is for).
  5. I didn't mention the ATC Racing Manager's head of hair, as I wasn't sure if it was the latest hairstyle coming outta Milan or roadkill.
  6. What a bloody boring love fest. He may not be the most popular of presenters, but at least when M Guerin is on, he is not afraid to voice his opinion and calls it exactly as he sees it. Somehow I managed to stay awake to see the piece on M Jones and B Hill joining forces in the training ranks, commencing 1 November. Two professional, successful and well respected horsemen combining, it will be exciting to see what eventuates from that. And lastly the highlight of the show, Addington's CEO Brian Thompson, jesus how good is his head of hair? Seriously. Must have been a former male model.

    fast 10

Great initiative and long overdue. There will no doubt be teething problems but this is definitely a step in the right direction to increase the appeal to the current and potential racegoers. With some fine tuning I am sure that this format will be the way to go. People said cricket max (with it's 4 stumps, and max zone) would never take off. It turned out to be ahead of its time with the 20 20 later introduced. Good on them for trying something a bit different, good luck to them.
  8. Looked like Sundees Sun jumped a shadow in the home straight. May benefit from a shadow roll for Ashburton and Cup Week. Sorry, Bloom.
  9. Don't listen to Greg. For christ sakes.
  10. Another great effort. Goooooooone... after first leg.
  11. Gotta cough up 800 smackers, and that works as the deposit for your (team's) entry. The comp is spread over 8 races and there is a minimum $100 spend on each race.
  12. Good info. Maybe they are splitting the stable runners, so they are not all running in the same heat against eachother? Is it first 2 home in each heat qualify for the final automatically? So Purdon has 3 nominated in the heat on Friday already, he'll be hoping to get 2 qualified for the final (from Friday's heat) and then One Change should run 1 or 2 in his heat later on? Dunno. Just putting it out there.
  13. Think he just means the extra care and attention. Maybe an extra pat, rub and a brush. Surely.
  14. I am unsure of Mark Purdon's UDR stats for grass tracks, but he has won at least half a dozen Methven Cups that I know of, so his horses go alright on the grass. There were a few times at Geraldine however where his horses hadn't run as well as expected. I would have thought the reason as to why the Purdon runners don't usually race on the grass tracks is due to the poorer stake levels, moreso than underperforming on grass, but you have raised an interesting point to follow.
  15. More than likely an immediate payoff, with more coin. But even if that wasn't the case, he is now closer to family. Good on him, never easy making a move between countries.
  16. Dead right, complete waste. Unless he prefers it that way, one wouldn't think so, but maybe. I'm sure so long as he can get his Macca's after the last race on his way home he will be happy. I miss him calling the races in Canterbury. Massive loss for the kiwis.
  17. Sorry Greg, I don't mean to rub it in and give you a ribbing over your tips mate. I don't mean to, but it just happens. Take it as a compliment that I follow your selections religiously.... so I can invest on the total opposite! Haha nah... I could never do what you do. All the best mate.
  18. Yip, definitely Mr O'Connor, no doubt about it... can't pick his nose....
  19. Greg, are you a Mr O'Connor? Just a yeah, or nah will be sufficient. I have ridiculed one G O'Connor's "selections" (guesses) for ages, so I do apologize to you if you are indeed him.
  20. Happy, ring up the TAB's "bookies" and see if they can get a market open for this option! They have been self-proclaiming they have a gazillion new betting options available "to play into" on their new and improved platform. Retards. The more I think about it, the more I think your "bet" could be on the money. Dam I hope you're right. I would laugh so hard.
  21. I wonder if the announcement will be "fast tracked"?!
  22. I'd already spent my winnings on UMC winning the Cup... at $51's fixed.... and handed in my resignation letter to the boss. Can Kirstin and Tank not do a bit of blood spinning on the gelding or something?! Surely. C'mon. It's legal innit? Jokes aside, I feel for the connections and fingers crossed he comes back to the track better than ever. Bastard. This will take some getting over.
  23. Ditto.
  24. The Taylor Swift "drawcard" (I use that term loosely), I think was just another attempt/example of the one-upmanship going on in recent times between Melbourne and Sydney racing administrations. They are each trying to outdo the other. Sydney will be sitting back rather smug seeing all this play out, whilst Victoria racing officials will be currently scheming something else, if they haven't already done so.
