A blind man could see it wasn't right pre-race.

Like a lot of other promos and marketing gimmicks, the NZ TAB sometimes, but not too often, follow (copy) the Aussie betting agencies, as they are not clued up enough to initiate their own promos. They clearly did not like the exposure Sportsbet received recently after they refunded the NZ option for the cricket world cup, so it is obvious here they are trying to get a bit of (positive) exposure back on them. Give NZ punters what they really want... Better place final field divis, a price boost option for sports and racing, a jump off option during a race, a back up option (2nd pick) on the horses and most importantly a website or app that has all the relevant information and simple and easy to navigate. Retards.

If in Chch, grab a copy from your petrol station or supermarket, they are free, and the article is in the current edition. I will try taking a photo of the article and post it on here on Monday.

I do not think the article is online sorry.

Blood spinning hit "mainstream" media this week. Christchurch Star has an article on it. Worth a read.

Good to hear, well done. Gotta take the good with the bad when "tipping" something out, so will try again sometime.
-
Hope you and others got a dollar or three off it.

Phrases that have never been said. Ever.

Trainer just said on Trackside, "it depends on what mood he turns up in". I think he was referring to the horse, All Nuts n Bolts. But he may have been referring to the driver, B Orange??

Dammit! Did anyone get a note of Greg O'Connor's suggested quaddie and suggested spend? I missed it.
-
Don't laugh too hard at this suggestion... Hear me out. Trust me, you will do better putting a lazy gold coin each way on this thing than Egg O'Connor's suggested quaddie: Race 6, number 1- All Nuts n Bolts Currently 12s and 3.30 Final Field. This battler goes better than he normally does, when the following occurs: He races at Addington, AND It's a mobile over 1950/1980m, AND He draws either 1-2-3, AND B Orange is doing the steering, AND It's a hard n fast track with no rain. The stars, moons and planets have all aligned Friday night at 7.55pm. Watch for him to show a smidgen of gate speed to find the front, then hand up to something, before trailing most of the journey and then trying to grind his way up the "Terror-To-Love-standing-at-Pinelea-Farms or whatever bloody sponsor they have these days" passing lane. The three faves have all drawn the second line, in what is a pretty average looking field. I would be putting the majority of units on for the place and only a wee sneaky something on the nose, but place preferred. All care, no responsibility. To do with as you please. God bless gambling.

Possible reason: This horse has been tipped out a few times on the Boys Get Paid Facebook page in the last few months. No doubt some of the lads have thrown a dollar or two at it and the TAB "bookies" (I use that term very loosely) have caved the odds in.

You are quite correct. Was on to my 5th- 6th pint when I posted that. Although I have never been on the receiving end of it, officially it is the glare.
-
Presenters are there in an attempt to drive turnover I guess. Was interesting to see when T Lee returned to NZ he negotiated a contract that did not include any tipping. Waaaaaay too good.
-
I don't want to be too harsh on him, as I could never do what he does, with the presenting and selections etc. But one thing I would say, is that these "suggested" quaddies, best bets and the like, which include a spend figure, is a bit of a joke. No one is forcing anybody to copy their selections and suggested spend, but afer a period of such poor performance you'd think they would hit it on the head and do something a bit different with a different approach.
-
I won't do anymore. It will be too embarrassing for the poor bloke.

Bored whilst waiting for the QLD derby, so thought I would get the ball rolling on here with some selections. I've renamed the venue, to Rangoria as it sounds more appropriate. Race 1: 6 Dianna Harbour Race 2: 7 Champs Race 3: 15 Hands Up Jack Race 4: 6 Windsor (roughie) Race 5: 3 Jay Tee Tyron (best bet) Race 6: 4 Rake Race 7: 6 Unico Enchantress Good luck everyone.

Yeah you know the one aye. Names escape me. Poor bugger got absolutely smashed with the suspension.

Christ, really?! Wish I had known that beforehand! I don't usually invest with the amateurs. Last time I had a bet in an amateur's drivers race it was about 18 months, 2 years ago, day meeting at Addington. These two drivers went like cut cats out in front, their charges eyeballing eachother, going quicker than last week's pay right from the get go. It didn't end well (for my horse anyway). Should be run as non-totes these amateur races. Just as a by the way, Cheryl Wigg (spelling may be incorrect). She seems to win more than her fair share of these events. And often pays a divi. But no, I'm not getting sucked in again. Not, until next time anyway!

100% agree. M House gave Kruizr a big rap during the week going into the race. I did my money cold. I think it was the 8th time I have given myself an uppercut and said never again (to bet) in an amateur's race.
-
Would have been better to return it to free-to-air TV. Wishful thinking.
-
100% agree. The final field top 3 prices are even worse now, since the new lemon of a website was introduced.
-
P.S I probably couldn't do any better (but I couldn't do any worse to be fair either). However I don't throw out tips for a crust.

This is what I was talking about..... Greg O'Connor's suggested quaddie tonight and goooooone after the first leg. God loves a trier.
