2024 - Crunch time for ENTAIN Corporation.
Murray Fish replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
where the terms and conditions for the E takeover ever presented in public domain? -
tick! And I recon as we age that 'that time' speeds! I think the 'ever challenge' for anyone with a few goes around the clock! re engaging with Racing currently, is how to be squeezing some fun and enjoyment out it! sometime easier said than done....

Do any Clubs/courses nowadays offer free wifi?

Even More Money for the Karaka Millions!
Murray Fish replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
A serious question, So much room at that course, but 'choose' to put that sigh up? -
lol... similar... perhaps a nice title for a thread: "Horses that have made me Cry!" perhaps two divisions would be needed! in pain and in joy!

The eagerly awaited documentary on arguably the greatest horse in Australian racing history โ Winx in all her equine glory! Winx is the Phar Lap of the modern era and holds the world record for her spectacular 33 race winning streak. Her first foal sold for a record breaking $10 million. It all reads like a racing fairy-tale, but the story behind the phenomenon is more complex. With unprecedented access to Winx and the team who made her a champion, award winning director Janine Hosking (Mademoiselle and the Doctor, SFF 2004; 35 Letters, SFF 2014; Iโm Not Dead Yet, SFF 2011) and Winx biographer, Andrew Rule, weave a cinematic journey to reveal the spirit of a champion as she faces her greatest challenge. Join us for a special World Premiere gala screening on Friday 7 June! https://www.sff.org.au/program/browse/a-horse-named-winx?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR1YIXt50ow3gLVxK9fWZLBUg2S2JlFP2gzIdrXUpYm7NajpKlmbZLQV76w_aem_AYb6pgOHHlvXN2vgcLrXwsBCjdw9fdSLNpAWYqiBdLF8SjcTA27dkhDRpM5Sw3ijGup7zoDnvOvluwE18fpvqIv7

Even More Money for the Karaka Millions!

Top syndicating stables being? TA, Marsh, Pike? Pitman in the south? On a practical level I'm sure the likes of TA will cement in more to be trained in AU. -
Even More Money for the Karaka Millions!

It will be interesting to see how this contradiction develops. I wonder how any horses are being ruled out? Who is going to be pissed off? -
Another breeder rep appointed to NZTR board

Perhaps way more interesting would be to see the Starting nominations? ๐ -
As a rider I thought he was underrated by many. It was great to see him get that G1 for TA late in his career. A career, which I'm sure, if he had been 3/4/5 kgs lighter would have taken him overseas! Dedicated, a genuine love for riding! and a nice bloke to go with! Bet he has better results than that last fella!

Of course, there is the reality of wage$ of nz v Au. Personally I know of so many that have moved over, very few come back.

I liked how the head coach shared how he exposed his methodology and practice for criticism to GB! Mentoring from someone who has Experience and the Ability to communicate that! is often rather hard to find! Especially so in such a anti-intellectual Industry as Racing!

Interesting comments re "the form".

You are 1000% correct. I feel your punting pain/frustration!!! I've been a better for 50 years, first 10 = right mug! most driven by subjectivity! next 10: I then got in a position (I started taking the F Flash turn for home shot) and that allowed me (access to the like of the J's room) to slowly bring more objectivity to my punting. During that time I became very privileged with 'access to info from X jockeys' thoughts on how their horse had just run, learning how so many horse were not able to perform at their best because of the moisture level of said track! That was energised by being privileged to the reality of how much Mr N Eales put on the state of a track! Introducing a rule of 'the cure goes back in the rack' when there is rain of the day.... Going through that slow process of 'learning' taught me the skill of Not Betting! I share that background, as like you I am (was) a serious punter, who has found out that the more and more prior watering has become the norm, the less and less I now bet! You might recall a few years back some propaganda was coming out from Head Office or Tab? around some sort of 'Halo Effect', (I think it was around picking 3 tris in a row!!!!! with a Massive Take out btw) Well once, there was a H,E around me! I was always be badgered with "got a winner' and sometimes I might! Now a days, lol, I think I've become a 'black hole', more than likely now that if you ask for a winner! You will get a strong lecture about WHY the F would You bet into pool$ on that track! Way to hard! and I recon that form from those meetings are rather questionable going forward! ps. don't get me started about filming of prelims!!!

You do know! Especially 'in the South', that many were discussed by the way Messara swept into town, Never engaged! (read Gutless) then he put on his Pope hats and claimed..... Good to see that the Pollyanna society continues to champion the company line! Meanwhile, Rome burns and you still have no clothes...

comparing Laptop v phone, used to look up odds for a live baseball game. One big thing I find is that the laptop seems to work instantly when I click anything, but on phone there often seems to be a slight lag and I seem to them do some strange double click, leading to not where I was trying to go to. I presume in time I would get up to speed.
-
Pulling out the phone, no where near as friendly (to me, 40+ years of pc literacy in the kick, not to much re 'apps') as using the laptop.. found a icon How To... ummm, then, after finding that fat fingers leads to the need to *$*#$*$&* finding I needed to be reload a couple of times, then finally found racing hub, everything worked then, but I find text a tad small and if you enlarge the text then its not a easy read... sigh, a sight of the times, I think, is most modern programmers overestimate the intuitive skills of many 'older users'
-
tick, then hand curser over the one you want to open, then left click and it opens...

hence: what rational punter would want to bet into pool$ run those tracks... it's like we are being waterboarded! and then! low and beholder anyone who finds the need to voice concern! cancelling for those sorts!
-
sigh, I think it a reflection of a industry that has had So many (miss)'leadership' changers, that the next one in X job, just picks up the same gobbledygook dawdle! now wait for the Pollyanna's to follow up with their sycophantic dribble... Talking tracks: how many race days have be f' up with the 'playing god' act of Overwatering to meet a man made rating?
