  1. tick. I'm sure WK will be happy with his premiership! hard earned! v's Opie with 8!!!!!! G1's wow! nz racing should be so thankful that he ended up making NZ his base for most of his career, given options overseas I'm sure he would have done well as well! So easy on the eye, so often seems to read the race well. And like the really top once so often gets the best out of his ride. ps. I have never meet him personally, so that is missing in my overall view.
  2. @NZRacing any idea about how much info was put into the public domain around the actual contract in place with Entain? Options for getting a divorce? I would love to know what the previous Minister and the current one be thinking about the share price? talking the Minister: Winnie seems a tad quite lately? out for a winter spell?
  3. (blush), I don't have one, mainly because I sort if didn't put much effort into trying to understand the form etc for that age group! All the wet track on so many of the big race days didn't help! I think reflected in the fact that all NZ G1's were won by a different horse.

  5. The challenge I think with any 2yr olds winning the HOY, is that they usually don't race against the older horses, like the top 3yr olds do in the late summer/autumn period. Talking Our Maizcay, at Trentham one day, it was down to do a gallop between races, he was being lead from the stables into the path that leads to the birdcage, No ropes up, people walking all around! He spooked out! he got rather upset and let out with a massive kick that just missed a punter! wow!
  6. Official Ratings, shouldn't that be the Judge? For me, The 4 horses that impressed me the most last season were Imperatriz, Crocetti, Orchestral and Legarto. Imperatriz HOY Orchestral for 3 year olds. Special mention for La Crique, two bets for two wins! with thank$
  7. slightly off track: nice to see the D Stackhouse doing so well! I recall seeing him riding at Wingatui a few years back, mentioned to a few how he had a nice presence on a horse! Impressive to see M Dee maturing so well as well! The two at the top are World Class
  8. are the Tab offering odds for this? how to select? wins? greatest investment lo$$ or $$$ won? there does seem to be some missing? syndicate owned horses owners?
  9. I could disagree re a 2nd in G1 being the same as a Listed w.. But, I think the risk of awarding on points could negate the actual 'best horse' winning. In that x horse could have a great season winning and placing well in various G1's etc v y horse puts in a couple of Massive runs to win a couple and is clearly the Best for that season.
  10. NEWS: Starting in 2025 HRI will schedule 60 races which will be restricted to trainers who have trained less than 50 Irish NH winners in either of the last two seasons. Races in the series will include bumpers, maiden hurdles, beginners chases and handicap hurdles.

  11. Entain picks Australian Gavin Isaacs as new CEO By Bren O'Brien - July 23, 2024 Global wagering powerhouse Entain, the parent company of Ladbrokes, Neds and TAB NZ, has appointed Gavin Isaacs as its new global CEO. Ladbrokes' parent company Entain has a new CEO. (Photo by Matthew Horwood/Getty Images) Issacs, who grew up in Australia and went to the University of Sydney and the University of NSW, has previously worked for Scientific Games Corporation, DraftKings Inc, SB Tech, Bally Technologies Inc, and Aristocrat Technologies in a 25-year career in the gaming and wagering industry. He is currently based in Las Vegas and replaces Stella David, who has held the interim role since Jette Nygaard-Andersen stepped down as CEO last December. David will now assume the role of chair of Entain once Barry Gibson retires from that role on September 30. “On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Gavin to Entain,” Gibson said. “We are confident that his proven leadership and operational experience mean that Gavin is the right person to take Entain into its next chapter.” Issacs, who joins on a base salary of £875,000, with substantial bonuses built in, couldn’t wait to get started. “I am very excited to be joining Entain. The company’s iconic brands, exceptional talent and ongoing execution of its refocused strategy will enable the business to return to a leadership position across all aspects,” he said. “I am confident that Entain has an extremely bright future, and I look forward to leading the Group in capitalising on the opportunities ahead and creating value for all its stakeholders.” Gavin Isaacs is Entain's new CEO (Photo: LinkedIn) David said it was an important moment in the future of Entain. “I am looking forward to working with Gavin and transitioning into my new role as Chair of this fantastic business,” she said. “The positive progress we have already achieved means the business has strong building blocks in place for the future. I am confident that with Gavin’s leadership we will realise the ambitious plans that we have for Entain.” Entain undertook a strategic review of its global businesses after Nygaard-Andersen’s departure, but decided to retain much of its operations, with the exception of Crystalbet in Georgia.

  13. lol, they seem a tad low!!!!!! ps. would love a link to said research?
  14. usually so, but not always. re the 'putting the jockeys on and sending them around in the first', 100% I was outside the tent, those inside were playing ostriches!
  15. where is he based now? thought he had moved to chch?
  16. nothing wrong in going to the spelling paddock... if needed, build your $take,.. talking elsewhere, for me, that be mlb and nfl, betting wise, on them, I continue to look and learn!
  17. gee, a few straw people stuff... lots of polemics.. Hence the Sunset tilt direction.. if a cost accountant thinks, its changing direction for the better, then good luck with that! As always, how can we squeeze some fun and enjoyment out of 'the races!'. For this century, I have been in the southern region, over the years, I have spoken with lots of committee sorts etc, just about all feel that the communication from 'head office' has been a challenge, especially around the M process and final report! I disagree that there was not decent criticism of it, shown by the 100's of coal face people that posted! sigh, but what the feck... events have happened! some 'won', others.... Talking reading: I did enjoy you one re Show Gate and trainer etc... sadly I think it didn't lead with its own Thread! and sort of got lost... keen to read others of that ilk! off to watch the dodger$ v red sox!
  18. pardon, mine still works well when out in the garden!
  19. As James has to be putting in a massive fitness effort to be able to actually be able to ride, I wonder if that he doesn't want to be giving up his 'support network' of people and places he needs to be able to do it?
  20. one of those 100% bugger! fell for the poor old driver of said truck!
  21. no, but... the member that it is alleged to be named after... always riding in with the party line.. championing the M line...
  22. that was the easy part, but whom is the boayer it was name after! allegedly!
