Go Pitty and Enzo's Lad! A big ask, but Pitty has never been scared to take on a challenge with a horse.

I so hear ya.... On the new "results page" we find the Concession Double result appearing ahead of the Double result. I presume this only occurs when the Concession Double runner number is lower than the Double runner number. Perhaps they need to hard code to Double (first) Concession Double (second). If the programmers were racing people, or racing people were used to test things annoying problems would be eliminated before things go 'live'. Double Concession 9/3 15.30 Double 9/13 34.50

I just don't understand why, from Day 1, we could not have had all of the information that was previously available on the old site incorporated into the meeting/race/horse/results info. available on the new one. Surely, it was all available and only needed to be migrated and maybe reformatted in some way to 'fit' the new site. Probably a little more complicated that I might imagine, but still possible when there is a healthy budget to do the job. It seems that what ordinary punters want to see is a bundled package that operates with minimal clicks to access & use it, clear formatting, an easy to read layout (those fonts and colours are sooo bad). This was pretty much all there on the old site. Somehow, the 'new/improved' platform we were promised turned out to be almost unusable at the start and it is only marginally better now. A very expensive fail on every count from where I stand! So many questions and thoughts run through my simple mind daily (such as) : How can something so bad have cost so much? What sort of horrendous $-figure is the vast fix required going to cost in the future and is this cost ever going to be truly and transparently provided to Joe Punter? Can a 'dog' ever be transformed into anything more than a 'slightly prettier dog' in a retro-fix? Why should I have to have one or more other sites open to get what we had at our fingertips before? The TAB is our national betting flagship is it not? Is this not where all of the info. should be available to anyone who wants to invest a $ or two? Seeing accurate pre race info. & post-race results should also be a fundamental. I should not have to view/bet overseas to get the basics! Nor should I have to be bouncing all over the LoveRacing site for info. either. It is not designed to be NZ's online punting site. Why is this new site so incredibly inaccurate so often? The site should carry a disclaimer. It really is that bad! Are the majority of sports bettors happy with their supposedly much better site/number of options, etc.? Strangely enough the two or three I know who invest over $1k per wager are at best ambivalent about it. So here we are over three months down the track from launch date and I could still bore you with a list of issues that is seemingly still as long as it ever was ? I've come to the devastating (for me) conclusion that my waning interest in the game, will likely, totally dry up in the foreseeable future . The enjoyment factor is being sucked out of me more and more each day. Decades of loving a punt, racehorse ownership etc. are all fast losing their appeal to me. ? The only thing that truly lives on despite all of the 'issues' is my deep love of horses and thoroughbreds in particular. Nothing, but nothing will destroy that! ❤️

So having had a look at the Racenet results I now see the real issue: It seems that the Also Rans are not in finishing order....grrrrrrr.
-
Take a look at this result from Randwick this afternoon (screenshot taken at 6.10pm on Mon 23 Apr). The resulted First 4 numbers are listed as 4:1:8:13.. The also rans show number 3 running 4th and number 13 second-to-last. So much for accuracy!

Ways the new TAB betting platform could be worse.

Loading the home page was slower than usual for me today. From there, waiting for the Racing page to load was slower than watching grass grow. -
Surely the comment on the $37.5k can only be a feeble attempt at smoke and mirrors? As usual they aren't even smart enough to do that well! They must really consider that racing's grass roots players are very stupid.

Will the NZRB still go? Will the make-up,size, ToR etc. (or even the existence) of the NZTR remain the same under the yet to be seen MAC proposals? Given such uncertainty, why appoint a new NZTR member now when an announcement about the future is supposedly only weeks away? There was no mention of Cameron George's appointment being temporary or for a fixed period, was there? Intuitively, so much of this process doesn't sit right with me and DM did nothing to increase my confidence levels that we are going to be led down a path to constructive change rather than just a rearrangement of the Titanic's deck-chairs at the governance & management level. Oh, how I hope I am wrong!
-
I was part of a syndicate that raced a Guineas and Gr1 winning filly/mare who would not have made 15.2 in work shoes. Will to win, coupled with some ability counts for so much!
-
The only positive thing I can say is that at least DM fronted... After that I saw a man who looked (with all of that squirming and shuffling - nervousness?) and sounded like some sort of JA clone. From where I stand I see just another meaningless attempt by those in power to baffle the <not so stupid> grass roots people of racing with BS. Next...

I don't compare champions or even great horses. I just feel privileged to have seen the deeds of Winx, Black Caviar and to a lesser extent, Sunline & never get bored watching them, no beat what opposition they face. A lack of depth in the opposition just shows how superior they are. Having said that, I still admire the likes of Hay Ryde and Happy Clapper, very good horses in their own right, who will likely be remembered as 'bridesmaids to champions' rather than through their own performances.

1.33. 27 I think. Still looking for the sectionals

A clear case of too many ugly sisters and no Cinderella? ?

Can happen to me 3 or 4 times in a row before I am successful. Patience is a virtue.
-
No argument from me. If they want turnover then they should provide quality information to inform decision making no matter where they are taking the racing from. That said, until punters en masse withdraw support and go elsewhere, abandoning previous loyalty or a wish to support something that is intrinsically Kiwi, then I am not expecting many real improvements. Even then, it may not happen. IMO, too many changes need to be made to the ($however many million it really is) site to make it truly functional & informative. Changes cost and how much more cash can they afford to pour into this mess?

TAB site is woeful. The site still does my head in but I am happy to see a SCRATCHINGS tab. It even has the added bonus of listing the Fixed Odds option numbers next to the scratched runners. Could be handy if you are in-store or on-course filling out a bet slip away from the sheets on the wall

Also, the FastTrack Pick 6 was listed as being at New Plymouth on Feb 6th. It was actually at Tauherenikau. It hadn't been changed since the previous Saturday. This is a small error, but it seems we have a greater number of small errors since the upgrade. Is it system related or are the humans involved reaching a point where they are tearing their hair out with the behind the scenes chaos, or have they thrown in the towel so just don't care anymore?

Didn't she resign recently?

Can anyone enlighten us further as to questions asked/answers received as my imagination isn't great enough to conjure up the extent of the trainwreck. P.S. - I admit to being a masochist for wanting to know all of the details

Assuming that this is confirmed as being true I would not be surprised to see him retire/return a few times over the next 10-15 years. He's a talented rider, but like others before him who have blessed with that talent, it seems that he does not (yet) have the maturity & temperament to cope with the ups and downs of a bloody tough game. If/when he figures out that self-control and dedication are worth all the effort then the industry (if it is still alive) will welcome his return to the riding ranks.
-
I believe he is the son of Jim Litt who trained out of Hawera. Joku is one of his horses that I remember.

If you are saying the permanent replacement trainer for D Weir won't be a Kiwi I'm pretty sure you'd be right https://www.racenet.com.au/news/caretaker-trainer-for-weir-stable-but-big-name-on-the-way-20190205
