  1. OK this is my last for today at least. EF finished and there was no decision for 1st/2nd before they went to Caulfield and they didn't show the result thereafter. Pathetic
  2. Actually they did wasn't looking at the time don't know if they advised that graphically - pot luck I guess
  3. So I have flicked over to Channel 2 (63) today and to fill in the gaps they have been showing dividends from Avoca and Singapore.much much later in the day. Not a great use of resources. Thought they might be using it to transfer races right now that Eagle Farm and Caulfield are likely to clash
  4. Enquiry at Trentham. Anything on any channel about this? we used to see a red light
  5. Yeah I think it supposed to depend on the track ie right handed track leader on the right left handed on the left handed on the left but they don't always get it right (pun intended).
  6. Just to add to the pile on it seems that they don't tell you when a result is confirmed anymore? If they do I haven't seen it.
  7. THey've been pushing the FO betting for the last few years. I'm not sure if the codes would be happy with this because there is a guaranteed return from the Tote betting which used to be higher than the FO. That may have changed but I doubt it.
  8. They've basically removed the amount of data on screen (which of course everyone is used to) but have made some weird decisions on what to show eg rather than showing commentators picks at the bottom left of the screen they now put them in a larger graphic along the bottom of the screen with a picture of the commentator included. Must have done the change based on a focus group solely made up with the commentators.
  9. And of course when they change channels because of a delay like just happened
  10. Agree with place odds. Also they used to have a ticker on the bottom of the screen to tell you what races were upcoming on both channels and when a race started on another channel. I miss that and I'm sure I'll miss it on Saturdays!
  11. As I've mentioned before I talking about after the 5 year period ends. Still there are all sorts of possibilities depending on structures and whether TAB NZ tax exemption continues into the new structure etc etc. If I could be bothered I'd take a deep dive I would but I can't. The NZ racing industry gets what they deserve.
  12. Naive Chief. There are plenty more ways to get revenue out of a company than simply a profit share. Charging more costs from Entain to whatever the NZ entity is would be a simple way
  13. AS has posted out by Freda and others (after I read all the replies which I should have done in the first place!)
  14. Not naive. They will spend a bit up front but in the long run, like any private investor, will take out much more which will be at NZ racings expense. I understand that the deal is that for 5 years the returns are guaranteed but after that the rot will set in
  15. Yeah these guys never really go they just end up with new outfits and job titles. Same old shit though
  16. Someone's "listening"
  17. Yip as usual no info coming through unless I assume you're listening to Trackside - could have done a screen crawl or something useless beggars
  18. https://www.stuff.co.nz/money/350166917/racing-events-manager-gets-80k-after-wrongful-dismissal
  19. Yip clearly over the last 2 racedays you could see it hasn't coped with the extra racing (in a short period) with Awapuni out. Is the only operable racetrack within RACE now Otaki. O shit I forgot they out of RACE now aren't they? What a farce
  20. IMO uniforms or the lack thereof do not matter in this case and in most occupations. What matters in this case is knowledge and talent - substantive issues.. At the moment we have one presenter who has clear diction issues which matters in such a role. When the changes were made to "downsize" and they decided to get rid of their contractors the effect was they got rid of some of the better presenters and some of their less talented presenters remained. There may be an issue as to how some of these presenters are managed or trained as it seems apparent that when they move to Australia for example (Cass Fahey, Jayne Ivil) they appear much better. However it seems that at least one of the better presenters, Greg O'Connor, has returned which is good which also means that some northern presenters are not forced to give their opinion on a racing scene they are not familiar with.
  21. Especially with getting a competent Stipe allocated - although that may be wishful thinking
  22. Taupo, Kurow, Reefton all big crowds great atmosphere. But we got rid of Waipukarau, Thames, Wairoa, Gisborne etc for no good reason. It didn't have to be that way. PS Don't enyone try and give me the reasons. I've heard them all and they're all unmitigated 100% BULLSHIT
  23. Rectified race 5 - not bad although I think it was happening Saturday as well
  24. Have them in the running but no result - must have an overseas betting agency in the graphics in Oz I suspect still not good
