  1. Given the extraordinary circumstances yes (not that I think Kearney was a great coach)
  2. Usual bullshit - puffing his chest out and saying we're not scared of making tough decisions and then making shit decisions - personnel, coaches etc etc
  3. I'm still stunned he's the Chair (or even on the Board) given his history and current mishandling of the Warriors job but spare a bit of disdain for Wacko Jacko who forces himself on the Board but only as the Chair, achieves nothing as usual for him, then resigns so as to pick up a position (presumably on the TAB Board) where he previously had a long history of achieving nothing. Oh I forgot he raised the takeout rates in his short stint as Chair of that organisation. It's hubris all round
  4. Sadly, like all that remain, what Thad lacks in competence he more than makes up with obsequiousness
  5. So it has come to this. After decades of shutting down courses and TABs, mismanagement of racing information publication, doing away with telephone betting, over promising on the revenue to be gained by co-mingling and switching to fixed odds betting, underestimating on the costs of (mostly failed) IT projects and running a top heavy and wasteful management team it us come to this - out comes the begging bowl. This as all come in the quest to be a cool high tech operation, the collateral damage to has been a total disenfranhcisement of a profitable, loyal and established customer base. I have been told that the cuts to various parts of the TAB were necessary, I assume to satisfy the banks' demands, but they were done in such a way that they severely limited the TAB's ability to maintain their customer base - heaven forbid allow for any growth. It is like a obese person having to lose weight so they cut off an arm which has desired effect but limits them in other ways. The racing industry as a whole is down to a rotting torso and even the hyenas have pissed off. Note: No mention of Covid 19 as it is entirely irrelevant to what has gone on.
  6. He and Cammo have always been thick as thieves
  7. I'll help him pack - not that I trust Dick Callander
  8. Noms for West Coast (no surprise there lot of loyal trainers send their horses there every year - led by Kevin Myers) and Otaki (surprise) good
  9. Totally agree Joe. Deliberate policies made by the woeful NZTR have resulted in a shortage of product (horses and meetings) to satisfy demand at their busiest time of the year (as voted by the consumers). That is why they continually have to go cap in hand to the Govt. Yes and I got that email. I printed it off held it over the toilet bowl and let the shit drip off it.
  10. And I just remembered that Cameron George is now the chair of NZTR! Oh my god!
  11. I think this will be the subject of a Xmas Eve News release if at all. NZTR will be hoping nobody notices. And they wonder why many believe that there is no integrity in the racing administration.
  12. Yeah right!
  13. Yes many tried to warn them about this clown but THEY knew best. Still didn't think this would be the way he went. BTW he was RACE CEO. That's the thing with mergers - your problems are inflicted on others
  14. Jeez I just saw that he was Chair of NZTR. Absolutely flummoxed/stunned. He's failing at the Warriors and now he's back in charge of an industry that he had to leave under a cloud. Just shows you that old saying "shine up shit and call it gold" is true!
  15. I would think that any one bad mouthing this track will be subject to disqualification for life
  16. It was the same for the Gallops at Ellerslie etc - if you're one of the "boys" incompetence is acceptable
  17. Normally a gallops man but that start was a pig's breakfast. If that starter wasn't also a stipe wouldn't he get the boot?
  18. And - I think - in relation to Hastings - that the argument was that the top two horses as two win horses should have been weighted one kg higher than their carded weight of 58 which presume had been (incorrectly) shown since Wednesday. Took that long for the stipes to wake up.
  19. Just typically poor administration on both counts. Didn't see the incident (watching Morphetville) but thought on the first round that the "golfers" were too close to the action.
  20. Sorry I meant positive. Still believe that double standards are at play
  21. But Chris Johnson is allowed to ride after returning a negative drug test (yes that is what alcohol is).
  22. So these placings and dividends don't seem to be popping up past the post on these races anymore. More great customer service from the TAB
  23. Depends on what factors you take into account in doing them. In my experience you get the result you want
  24. Is there a strategy behind these? i.e. what colours go on what horse. Confusing as hell for me
