  1. Sure, but Australian bookmakers offer fixed odds for all Hong Kong races.
  2. The TAB doesn't have fields up because the Australian bookies don't have theirs up. The TAB does nothing before others do it. I'm sure the likes of Sportsbet will get the fields up today, and our useless lot will just copy and paste.
  3. They know the drinkers/party people will go regardless, so may as well charge heaps.
  4. Great turnout How many meetings per year? 1 or 2, right?
  5. To be fair, if a course as small as Kumara didn't look busy, there would be only 10 people there. However, the small property makes for a good atmosphere.
  6. Exactly - what service does Ellerslie provide for the admission?
  7. We can't forget that the quality of thoroughbred isn't there to attract people to Ellerslie. Who would you turn up to see in the flesh yesterday? The Derby on Boxing Day used to be better than Christmas Day, but with it now being in March, not a lot of people care (or they simply have forgotten that racing exists) following the Xmas carnival. Does anyone know how our Derby winners have performed in the Australian Derby races since it was moved? That was the reason for the switch, right? I think running over 2400m in December and having a nice break before the autumn carnival in Sydney worked quite well, as opposed to running 2400m in March and backing it up a month later. As Scooby snacks says after every post on RC, JMHO.
  8. .... did I catch you commenting about the lack of crowd?
  9. They carry 70kg over 6400m.... I don't think an extra 10kg would hinder or hurt an extremely large and powerful animal, but perhaps there has been testing done.
  10. Can someone please tell me why the weight scale is usually 50-60kg. Would raising the weights to 56kg-66kg change much? Apart from times? Surely jockey safety trumps that?
  11. I don't have a TAB account, but about a year ago I walked into a store to place a $1k sports bet. The lady told me I needed a TAB account to place the bet, I told her that I don't have one, and I was simply trying to help out my local TAB, she looked at me with disgust, so instead I told her I'll place it with sportsbet instead. So strange to need a TAB account to place an over-the-counter bet worth more than a can of beans.
  12. The CBD was dead yesterday morning, which is just how I like it Picked up later in the day with the Boxing Day sales, but enjoying the city with less people in it atm.
  13. Obviously....
  14. Crowd looks tiny at Ellerslie? Anyone there to comment?
  15. You can't trust anyone in this game. Where there is money, there is corruption (or the possibility of corruption).
  16. This will have a sizable flow-on effect with Trackside/TAB. No need for studio presenters on days when there is no thoroughbred racing. They'll likely have to seek employment elsewhere, and we'll have even worse people fronting our industry.
  17. Any horse can be chosen, but horses can't be nominated. You'd have to call The Everest and All-Star Mile non-restricted races on that basis.
  18. Serious question - why on earth would anyone pick Domain Ace? Is that the best we have on the market? And if so, that's embarrassing.
  19. Unsure what else needs to happen for placings to be reversed.
  20. Interesting to hear Trackside using AI to preview upcoming greyhound features. Sounds fake (which it is, obviously) and the American accent is a little offputting. But, at least we don't have to hear them say "PREformance".
  21. Fancy saying you stole the post when you clearly posted it first. I need to revise his IQ - it's 45 now.
  22. Whilst Molly is far more intelligent than Leigh, and I agree with many of his political and societal beliefs, I have never met someone so fake, so nasty, and pathetic as Leo. But, we've been down this road many times, so I'll leave it there. Surely there's a law prohibiting website owners from posting under members' aliases?
  23. "it was done to remove Emily from the spotlight" Yet, he had no problem commenting multiple times about the situation in a negative light. Instead, he could have shut it down. Hypocrite to the max.
  24. Which Scoobs and Leo used to do all the time - me included. Still can't believe a website owner would edit posts and write new posts under one of their users' names. Quite abhorrent.
  25. He just changed the title of the thread 😄 I think he spends more time reading this site than his own.
