  1. Went to all 3 days the year Marlon won the cup , fantastic week , place was mobbed . Still remember it with fondness . More meetings like this will get people and kids loving racing again .
  2. Jesus , they were costing owners a fortune in travel costs , get with the f@#king programming , and will you please ramp up your positivity , it may be Sunday but there is no excuse . Back on the tapes it think , you haven't given them back yet have you ? .
  3. Always knew the reason she went there . This was the question . Atishu had been trialling well so had a bit of a punt , came off the bit on the corner but was impressive at the line , impressive last 50mtrs , this mare could be a little bit special .
  4. I feel your sadness Reefton , i am in the same position , as are many other , the enthusiasm for the sport has been sucked out of us , but we are continually told to remain positive , haha . I am now past caring , i had a great time whilst involved and while i still a have a small interest now it certainly won't be increasing here . I was hoping that we could become good again but i think we past the tipping point now .
  5. Maybe someone's reading BOAY ?
  6. So here is an indication of their lack of pro active thought , Taupo has a meeting Wednesday , nom's closed at 12pm , races at Cambridge and Taranaki abandoned after the 3pm announcement , why were the nom's then extended for Taupo to allow some of the horses that can't run at the abandoned meetings to try and get a start on Wednesday . They had 8 races programmed for Wednesday , so why not run 12/13 races if the numbers were there . This is the lack of thought that is drowning our industry , it's not a hard one to do , but just a lack of leadership .
  7. If this goes on for a few weeks , which is likely for Auckland region at least , and they aren't going to allow racing to continue then i think we are in a whole lot of pain if they don't prop us up . It's not a normal run of the mill business , it's an industry with huge tentacles , it would cost the taxpayer more if they left it to collapse . Going to be an interesting watch , along with how the management deal with an extended lockdown , regarding fixtures and programming etc .
  8. It's been a long line of no hopers that have taken up residence in charge of NZ racing . The problem is the people who keep replacing one loser with another .
  9. Can't put a short term plan in place far less a long term sustainable plan . I'm waiting to see what they are doing with the Otaki trials next week , the obvious thing is Thursday , if they don't then the 2yo at Wanganui isn't going to happen . That is just one of the little things that they should have had ready to move on , we were never coming out of level 4 tonight so they had 2 days to have a couple of plans ready depending on how the Govt went . Guarantee they come out with something on Monday which just gives people less time to plan . OK , i know it was a big ask expecting them to come out with 2 plans ready to go . My bad .
  10. They asked him , BTB's reply was " says FO you twats " .
  11. Even a conman doesn't just take your money without giving you the dream of what your money can bring you if you give it to said conman . I detest the whole land grab idea , but they are that dumb they are not even trying to sell the concept with the big shinny plan on how they intend to spend , more of the same is never going to get any body to part with their asset . I honestly believe if they had a plan , done in conjunction with clubs like your own and the rest of the coast that showed the coast had a strong future , and so on with the rest of the country , set in reality that gave everyone a picture of a bold new future that included everybody being on the ride then a lot more people would more positive about restructuring the NZ industry . Maybe not ?
  12. The biggest single issue going forward for participants , and that includes every group within racing , is the complete lack of any plan on how the industry is going to gain traction , to 1 stop the decline and 2 start gaining forward momentum . A plan that can give industry participants confidence , especially the ones that are at the brink , on deciding whether to continue or cut their loses . So far i am seeing high profile people getting out , so if they are getting out how many of the lesser lights are going , without the publicity . As of this moment there is nothing in the shape of a plan , The A/W's can't be the plan surely . Expecting the small increase in distributions to be the pathway for the resurrection of racing is deluded , it is a drop in the ocean . Participants are disillusioned with every aspect of NZ racing , yet nothing is changing . We have the same ratings , programming is fundamentally buggered , stakes at the lower level are a joke , and on and on . We are now at the cliff edge , we need some radical thinking and management , racing needs major rebuilding . Will we get it , i hope we do , but we need a plan , and fast .
  13. Haha , not looking for an argument but are you suggesting there is a government that doesn't withhold information and that you trust . i wouldn't trust anybody that says they are a politician .
  14. You will be , Ruakaka goooonnneee , running a meeting on the A/W at Cambridge , the breeders will be run at Te Rapa on 28th . 2nd year in a row isn't it . So the 3yo's go from racing on a good surface for 80k to a H10 at Te Rapa . Why not run it on the A/W , good enough to run 4x40k races for S/C horses .
  15. That sentence had shades of positivity about , the tapes must be working .
  16. I think they are expecting a lockdown hence no meeting .
  17. past 5pm and they still haven't posted odds for Cambridge tomorrow , have they just forgotten , or perhaps with possibility of it raining their not sure how to set markets , haven't had a rainy raceday on the A/W yet so form could play a bit diff .
  18. Well it doesn't come across as such , your first comment in months is to try and disprove what someone else thought . I could name a dozen or more that lined up on the 1st or 2nd days and didn't perform then lined up on a later day to fail again , so not such a good thing they didn't have Pam's thoughts . And i would suggest many thought as Pam did going on the scr's on Saturday and the size of many fields .
  19. Why do you never come on here unless it is to bag someone ? I respect your record as a horse trainer but you have a massive chip on your shoulder when someone says something you don't agree with . You came on here a couple of months back and asked for some ideas , positive ideas , from people you consider are negative , but you never came back and discussed or commented those suggestions , but you will jump at the chance to hop on today to give someone a serve , very positive . Not everyone gets everything right all the time , although i think you will disagree with that .
  20. Any chance they can xfer the Oamaru meeting to the A/W and get some more nom's for the meeting on Friday . Who thought it was a good idea to have a southern meeting 6 days after the Grand National meeting ? The buzzword is dickheads .
  21. Your a nasty bastard , rubbing our noses in it , we know how bad it is without bloody big reminders . Jesus some people are just straight out bloody callous .
  22. Given enough time the lack of jockeys will mean races will have to run as time trials .
  23. Well if he's talking about Aus he needs to clarify , if he's talking about NZ racing i'm calling bullshit on it . But i remain forever positive .
  24. Late in the day and numbed by some of the shittiest riding i've seen in a while , still don't get what it is meant to mean . Is he meaning things starting to move ?
