Are there signs of cracks in the Cambridge AWT training ranks?
nomates replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
Unfortunately "momentum " goes both up and down , really don't feel like we are on an up at present . -
Well if , big if , Castles is the next esteemed leader of NZ racing then we have definitely hit the bottom of the barrel and the industry is truly fucked .

Yeah well obviously once a horse has gone beyond it's grade on the A/W it has to revert heavy track racing to get its rating down , but not much money in that , only ever going to race for 10k , oops sorry 12k . Either that or retire it . -

But hey NZ racing is surfing on a high wave of success at present , stakes are up , turnover eh ok not so great , horse numbers eh ok on the decline , but we do have a shinny new A/W . Flying . -
And have a look at some of the players they have let go during his tenure that have turned into better than average players , Nichol Klostad for one , but happy to take Shaun Johnson back after saying they can't win a premiership with him , is this a sign that they have lowered their expectations and are just happy to play and collect salaries , as he is in his role with NZ racing .

Only 96 horses accepted with only 17 horses that haven't raced on the A/W surface previously , a bit surprised with the low number trying the A/W for the first time , would have thought there would be a continuous supply of new blood at this time of year , especially in the Waikato district . Sign of things to come ? The biggest worry is that there is 170k in stakes being put up , what are the chances that the industry is going to lose big on this meeting . I will be keeping an eye on the totes for each race . Going to be interesting . -

I find it interesting that on Wednesday they have the biggest stake day for the Cambridge A/W since it's inception and they have only managed to get enough horses to run 7 races , surely they are expecting a decent crowd so why wouldn't they programme a couple of extra races . First meeting where they haven't had enough nom's to split a race or two , perhaps that was what they were expecting hence they only programmed 7 races . -
Has anybody seen anything official on the distributions to the 3 codes , we were discussing it a few weeks ago when NZTR released proposed stakes increases for next season before they had confirmation of what their share might be . I haven't noticed anything official , so was wondering if i have just missed it or it was so underwhelming i have erased it from my mind .

The CEO adds the "E" to shite . The circle of thought and ideas just keeps decreasing .

TAB-NZ - Bloopers, bugs and general stuff ups.

Another IT whiz kid trying to show some noddy he knows his stuff , unfortunately no one bothered to check with some punters whether it was of any real use . Some one is getting paid industry money to make this shit up . -
There will come a time when someone will protest and the shit will hit the fan .

That's the best he's ever looked on TV .

The win tote at the close of races is pretty much what you see at any other midweek meeting , i have made a point of watching these figures . -
You've got more money than me if your going again , there was nothing in that run to suggest improvement .
-
Said exactly the same to my wife when that race was run , a bad executive decision for sure .
-
Just had a look at the calendar and i wonder why they didn't look to run this meeting on Tuesday , would have been better for the industry and participants to run this meeting than lose it . The devil in me thinks they make more from not paying out stakes than the punting .
-
It's these kind of abandonments , late decisions and jumping races , that completely deflate the argument for A/W's . Can't see where the jumping races go , at least before the national meeting . Actually since the A/W's began being put in i can hardly recall an abandonment because of the dastardly weather . Possibly went off before nom's on them .
-
Trentham abandoned due to the weather conditions , a shame was looking forward to the days racing . But it raises a question , if the A/W had been installed at Palmy would this day have been saved for the industry and it's participants ? mmm i wonder .

Well just proves that we are becoming a tin pot outfit .

CD Barrier Staff take leave of their cotton pickin' senses!
nomates replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
You would be amazed at the amount of people that think it is the job of the gates boys to teach horses to load properly at the jumpouts and trials , been watching it for years where horses have done nothing more than walk thru the barriers before going to a jumpout or trial . Done some work behind the gates years ago , it's an eye opener . -
Doh ! you were talking about jockeys , the male jocks you named don't have fat reserves so therefor no fat guts , nor would J Kah have anything like the fat reserves that a woman would normally carry . Jesus stop looking in the mirror whilst talking about fat guts that are hanging so low as to hide any semblance of manhood you might have . Sometimes in life you just have to accept what you are , in this case your sexist . Give J Kah credit for just being a damn good jockey , irrelevant of sex , no need for it to be part of the discussion .
-
I bet she has less fat on her thighs than you have on your brain .

Your a fecking idiot , this is exactly why racing finds itself in the position it does , i'm wasting my time , all you can do is refer me to your IDOLS website . Your an ignorant and churlish little man who has little or no understanding of the wider problems this industry has , your solution " POSITIVITY " , your PROBABLY be right . Not !!! p.s. don't damage your painted fingernails typing a reply , i'm not wasting my intelligence on you anymore .

I will add Tesio , there was a time when we were big enough to sustain more than one super club , oh for those times again , but alas not or never to be again i fear , it saddens me all the same .
