He's also in the wrong business running this site , bully's anybody that has a different point of view and if that doesn't work just buries them with inane questions and hypothetical . Never my intention to stick around here for long , came to make a small point , and as I know that Doug eventually bores everyone , me especially , the man has no grace when he's wrong . Catch you Joe . -

The thing is Freda that for some reason the big nob thinks that myself and Joe are focused on knocking TA , the tall poppy , we aren't . The discussion is around all the big syndicators here and in Australia and how it's just a lucky dip at the high end as much as the bottom . I simply stated that a number of people I know or have known would do just as well with the same budget . It's not a fine art , it's a purely a numbers game but when your buying at that level in those numbers your chances are pretty damned good of getting a couple of gun racehorses . As that stable rep stated all these tall poppies have more failures than successes , it's just the way it works . It's funny how the big players miss so many good yearlings that go on to be G1 winners with other purchasers , how did they miss them ? , because it's not an exact science . But someone as usual , one person that doesn't understand the process and chooses to create discord with nasty digs and continual accusations . The real trial of a persons ability to find good horses is to buy 10 yearlings with 100k . It's the same as the top football managers at the biggest clubs , where they have the best players and huge buying budgets , just how would they go at a division 3 club and no real spending power , that's the real test of their ability as a coach . This post won't stop him . -

As I said buy enough then lightening can strike and occasionally more than once . I haven't got enough time tonight to list the failures . -

Haha I wish Gamma' , everything I bought I bought for myself . Bought a Per Incanto weanling filly at Karaka for $500 once , for someone else who asked me to find something for him , when his first crop were about to hit the track and they went BOOM , he left it in the paddock for a few months then got offered 30k but refused to sell for anything less than 60k . It returned nothing on the track and he's breeding from it and so far nada . -

And that is my point , most people with decent knowledge and a decent sized purse can buy a number of well bred horses and pick out a few extra good ones , it's the law of averages . They all do it . Otherwise they would all be scrapping over the same few lots , which they often are , but then they all spread their ammo out because as everybody knows there is no sure fire formula so the more tickets you buy the more chances of winning . The rest with limited budgets buy what they can and hope like hell they got lucky . -

And that about sums it up when you have squillions of other people's money to play with . I know of plenty of good judges , not all high profile either , that would have bought just as many if not more good horses . Money is the liberating factor . -
Denby sits very nice on a horse , even in a finish , but still has to learn pace and when to move in a race .
-
But if the whip doesn't hurt a horse why harden it even more ????

Look in the dictionary under Billy Connolly , not the great comedian one . Might be in the sub section "Farkwits".

Mate what can anybody say "No things are just as good", the current situation is dire , the SI is terrible and the CD isn't far behind if at all . Even in the north outside of the top 4/5 it isn't great . I can't see anything improving in the near future .

Because I don't put up with belittling know all twats like yourself . !Wow! ,,,,, I'm sure your not that much of a wall flower that those words alarm you . You can add twats to that list now .

Racing a G1 winner and knowing anything about racing don't go hand in hand , means FA , I have met plenty of people who have raced top quality horses and knew nothing about racing , most have been honest enough to put their hands up to it as well . Some con their way through , some like TAB4E , aka Tasman Man , are nothing more than condescending know all pricks who enjoy spouting off whilst politely belittling others . I wonder if he is still putting on his trousers backwards . These self professed Pariahs all have some lunatic fringe followers , seems billy connolly is his . Billy Connolly the sycophant that seems to know enough that he can belittle a hard working trainer who gives her all to the industry , Pam has probably forgotten more than he's ever known about horses and the industry in general , so he can piss off and get a life . Whilst I'm on it why does he use the moniker of billy connolly , he's never remotely funny enough to use the great mans name , the grub , the real BC's shite has more humour than he does .

I would have sent a mare to him in his first couple of seasons if i was a breeder but or me the Time Test's have been disappointing , expected a lot more , especially the numbers he got in his first 2 seasons , unless something spectacular happens on the track for him before seasons end his book might drop a fair bit next season . Fickle game .

Sorry haven't got my glasses on , does that say " now your in the grave " ?
-
Yes , a lot will be looking at the costs associated with the prep and whether it is worth it , and decide not to bother , maybe just go to Gavelhouse . This is what happens when not enough horses are being bred and they start pushing K2 horses into the K1 catalogue to fatten the numbers .
-
Ah , so that explains the 8.5mil deficit .
-
Yeah , those sitting at the big table is getting smaller and smaller , shortly we will have just one person , judge , jury and executioner .

Was never going to leave 2yo's , as you say could be temperament , doesn't take long for for the whispers to get around . I remember a few seasons ago that the word going around was that the He's Remarkables were hard work , spoke to one breaker who said he had done 9 and every one was hard work , the industry soon works it out . Ace High was always going to be a slow burner and we all know how this industry doesn't have patience anymore .

WN opened 26s for the HD , those were gratefully taken , opened at 8s for the Derby but after Mick Guerin said he wouldn't be going for the Derby he blew out to 16s , when it was mentioned he was probably going to HD his Derby odds dropped back in . I'm not sure he is going to the Derby yet , they will make that decision after the HD . Personally i don't want him to run in the Derby or go to Australia , this is his first prep and he has a lot of maturing to do , he's about 17 hands and well over 500kgs , for mine he has exceeded all my expectations at this stage of his career and more than happy if he went to the paddock after the HD . Lots of big money races ahead of him , he's a gelding so can race for many seasons .
