  1. OK , found extented form , go to race , press best bet , eezzy peezy japaneezy , so i'm a slightly happier punter but good farking luck attracting newbies .
  2. Please let me in on the secret passages because when you go to recent form there is none of the above . This information should be easy peezy to get , both for us grizzlies but more for attracting and keeping new customers , off to waste some more of my precious time .
  3. Completely underwhelmed , all they've done is change foremat and reduce form , giving me no information regarding how horse ran previous races , nothing , where it ran , track conditions , position in running , jockey , winners or placegetters , time , margins , no information on any trials , the things that give you some level of confidence in having a bet , obviously this foremat designed by non punter , might as well become an easy bet punter . The really sad thing is i'm not in the least surprised because my expectation levels are now so low on anything NZTR or NZRB touch .
  4. Hey maybe we should cut them a break , even NASA has issues .
  5. When they say ' the future of betting is nearly here ' , we have arrived . I was giving 10 years but hey that was just a guess .
  6. I'd be happy with Any racing option at this stage .
  7. Be interested to know how many 'punters' have taken the gamble to be on course on the off chance they get it right , any hardened punter with a slight knowledge of tab's history is sitting at home refreshing TAB site .
  8. John Allen standing by his already packed suit cases with an uber cab on standby .
  9. Wonder who the brain sprain was that scheduled a galloping meeting on THIS particular Monday when we don't race on Monday's except public hol's , obviously honcho's at TAB and NZTR didn't communicate or more likely whizz's at TAB over estimated their capabilities , yet again . Would've thought it was obvious to give yourself some breathing room for teething issues .
  10. Lucky that the horse didn't break a leg , another report on it's way into why this happened . I wonder if the new man had any input into the preparation of this track for raceday . One report that never seems to be undertaken is the one on NZTR performance .
  11. Same ride he gave Son Of Mahar at Riccarton a couple of weeks ago , same weak ass questions asked , same weak ass answers given , he was in the media complaining of social media backlash , well sometimes you can make it too easy . Would have copped it over the rails coming back to scale in Aussie no mamby pamby social media . Not supporting bullying in any form either but sometimes you just have to accept you cocked up and cop it on the nose .
  12. No good day for this issue to be in the public arena , the actions are what are discrediting the industry , the article is asking why police did not proceed and why racing took such a softly softly approach . Very little publicity when these incidents first arose , all kept very quiet and a lot in the industry were surprised when the final penalty was handed down . His actions were well known and this particular incident was doing the rounds within a couple of days , as was the incident regarding the other named trainer . An age old problem and the way it was handled was weak on our part .
  13. Who do i blame ? Many moons ago when i was working at Evergreen Lodge down on state highway 27 and looking after One Pound Sterling and Icelandic we had a 1000 mtr straight track with a 800mtr oval at top to work horses on , a mare was returned to the stud as too slow , appearing quiet i thought an ideal type to learn to ride on (never been on a horse in my life ) so spent 3/4 days trotting and cantering around paddock before thinking i was ready for a gallop so took said mare up track and preceeded to gallop back for 700mtrs . No skull cap or vest and I was all over the place but thankfully came to no harm . Loved it and thought i would go again cpl of days later but the mare was having none of it wouldn't go near the track , but then i was 6'4''and 95kg , i look back and think "bloody idiot" not just for risking riding her but asking her too , thankfully one us had more sense the next time .
  14. CS , the drainage and sand slitting and watering management plan are not the solutions , they are the problems , but they are in complete denial that they are getting anything wrong . A substantially long list of successive cock ups but still no one at head office has thought why not try something different it couldn't be any worse .The term MOB suits this lot down to the ground because professionals their not .
  15. CS , first started going to Otaki 40+ years ago , for many decades i would hear trainers saying the Otaki surface was regarded as the best surface in NZ , if not Australasia .
  16. What ever happens going forward regardless of whether that is following the Massara bible or another avenue the first thing that needs to be done is the recruitment of a world class track specialist , someone with a proven track record , pay them what they want , probably still won't be close to John Allen's salary . At present the person in charge of tracks is continuing to following a well worn path of failure . If nothing changes , nothing changes .
  17. Hi , new poster here , problem as usual and has been for a long time , tracks are watered just enough to maintain some give on top and look good , never enough to get moisture down deep where the real concussion occurs . So you end up with the hard pan underneath . Bright side could cut Otaki track up and sell as ready lawn .
