Plus i'm sure i did spot a couple of people wandering across the public lawn at one stage , hopefully they were punters as well .
-
Well we seen that when they were confirmed to be built , to a man any trainer that was interviewed talked firstly about how great they would be for training and trialling , oh and racing of course . The death of us will be self interest .
-
Only 3 at the top table that made the decisions were let go , not completely new is it .
-
And the circle of life carries on , once they leave they just chuck their name in a hat and wait for the next time it will be drawn out , not worried what it might be as long as there is money attached .

I know a well known owner in the central districts who had a horse who won very well at his 3rd start on a bog at Otaki in the middle of winter , was sold to Gai and went on to win many races including group races in Sydney . We were quite surprised that they were interested in a H11 winner but they knew what they were after along with their agent . The one thing winning well on a really heavy track usually shows is toughness and this horse showed this on numerous occasions in Sydney . I myself started a horse on a H10 at Hawera , horse was ridden upside down but wouldn't have mattered , the winner was Descarado , there was a massive punt on him and he killed them , subsequently sold to Gai . They have a track record doing this , plus there isn't any tracks in Sydney anything like our ones .

That's a new one , you must be close to the inner circle .

Yea we all do , and plenty have been offered , there has been plenty discussed on this forum , they don't want to know , they have a plan , a plan so cunning they wont share it with the racing community . Try offering a suggestion , see how far you get and how far your suggestion goes . I can't even come up with one positive initiative that NZTR have instigated in recent years , that's how cunning the plan is , it's years in the making , i'm sure they will announce it soon . Or in a little while at least , maybe not .

You just waking up to this , been on a circle of decline for the past 20 years , mostly down to poor governance .
-
Just looked at the nom's for the , nothing rated above 85 in either which is a blessing as it will help drawing extra nom's seeing as there isn't any standout horses . As for the jumps not much better , good of them to go around for no money tho , or are they waiting to see how many pay up before they put up the stake , bloody disgraceful , it is a mickey mouse outfit .

Got no idea why they still programme meetings for Trentham after mid May , tracks fecked .
-
They are a bit like those people who were employed by the tobacco industry to deny that smoking caused cancer and were bad for you , do anything to keep the big salary .
-
He knows nothing , nothing , nothing . The mantra at the next NZRB meeting .
-
Mate , come on now , this is NZ's premier track , no need for the bashing . Scary to think how bad the rest are .
-
Have a great day Gamma , very jealous , really like Signora Nero , followed her last few and has been quite unlucky a couple of times in the big races , bigger track will suit so will stick with her . Hope to be over in the next couple of years , our best friend whom we are going to spend the weekend with in Wellington has her sister living over there , apparently 2 mins from Eagle Farm so we have sorted we will go over for a week or so when the carnival is on , when all this covid crap is more stable . So enjoy tomorrow and get plenty .

Well done Pam , great win , and a great stake , only down side was i didn't see the drift coming and took a lot shorter than the 19s she ended at , bloody ridiculous going on track and heavy stats . Anyway have a great night , got to make the most of them .
-
Good luck today Pam , i really like Magic Ivan and Celine today , so unfortunately going to wiegh them down a bit with my money on them .
-
It's a worry if the plods in charge are looking at the other way .

Got nothing solid to base it on , RITA made some cost cutting measures , 20mil worth but haven't seen where that all went . There's nothing else of substance out there , maybe when they throw a lump of money at racing that shows they are making huge increases in revenue then i will say they are doing great . But just believing blurbs that come out saying what they expect to achieve is for the naive , too many of us have been around too long and heard it all before . Produce results first , then blow your trumpet . As far as i can tell turnovers aren't going through the roof so i'm not holding my breath . As i have told you before you are entitled to believe what you want , i want solid long term changes before i make a call on whether either NZTAB or NZTR can be called succesful . I don't mind up being wrong because that means the sport i've loved for nearly 50 years is thriving again , so it's a win/win for me , although the negative is if i'm right then racing is still spiralling down , which isn't really a win . So basically i'm rooting for you .
-
Well they are confident they are going to at least have the same amount to distribute . Well i've been listening to him for the last 12 + months about how things were going to turn around , still waiting for anything , must be a big ship we're on .
-
And if you understood racing as whole and galloping in particular you would realize that you were describing the whole all 3 codes . The only one of the above that will hold it's position is breeding , the rest as you say will end up a hobby sport for the rich and famous because the base of the industry will have demolished . Can you tell me where the few extra mill went , believe it was 2mill for the gallops , because i haven't seen it going anywhere , not that 2mill will achieve much . But what about the 20mill from the last 12 months cost savings ?
-
HAHAHAHA , hook line and sinker . I have no problem that we have opposing views , but you do seem to only rear your head in defence of the poor management of racing , but never get into the debates around how to fix things or give initiatives to achieve better results . Yet you have plenty of negativity around your area of supposed expertise , harness . How then can they put out stakes for next season , which are the same as this , if they don't know how much they have to play with , could be a lot less than they played with this year , after all covid has had a damaging effect on their business , apparently . Dangerous game , but they have the 20mil in cost cuttings to fall back on . I wont be holding my breath that there is going to be substantial increases , which is going to be required to give participants confidence to continue . One training partnership in the CD has recently finished because of how tough it is , how many more , and how many can the industry sustain losing .
-
Plus from what some posters have banged on about they have slashed 20mil in cost cutting , perhaps a shuffling of the deck chairs was all that really happened .

What's..'Dummy' Myers....Naomi Osaka....Terri Rae...have in Commonality?

And that is the difference , say what you want before the race , most are none the wiser and the wiser are richer . But FFS don't go on after and stick the finger to the punters by laughing about it and admit you were conning them . Just say " well he surprised me with that effort " .... And the trainer was doing his bit of PR for the industry , so everyones happy . Mostly the trainer and his owners tho . -

Never seen one refuse to do one after a big race win , i'm sure someone will come up with one tho . I personally don't take much note of pre race interviews but i do enjoy watching the enjoyment the trainers and owners get from winning , that is the special part of racing . I don't really care if someone just doesn't want to be interviewed , i don't believe it is compulsary , but Aqua is trying to justify openly lying to punters , and they should be grateful he gave the interview at all . Things like that are why we have the public perception that racing is crooked , and i'm not trying to bash KM , but he made a mistake , like i have many times in my life , own it and move on .
