Such polls are worthless. Taken after Newshub incessantly used the word "chaotic" when describing the new coalition Government. Jenna Lynch (ironic name) headed that witch hunt after Winston Peters after he humiliated her for asking more inane questions of him in her rush to gain brownie points with other "alleged journalists" and justify their own existence on quiet news days. Sorry to burst your sad little bubble but the only poll that means anything was the one held on Saturday 14th October and around the same time of the year in 2026. Until then be mindful of it being summer, the time snow flakes melt fastest.

You've just nailed a big part of your problem. Depression is normally associated with what happened yesterday and worry / fear over what "may" happen tomorrow. Live for today H.R. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. Being such a sad arse can't be good for your health either. Cheer up, the new Government may turn out to be the best one we've had in decades. One thing for sure, they will be light years better than the clueless clowns that were just sent packing.

Your relentless optimism via strong vested interest has been duly noted. Now note this. Many believe the dangerously naïve, divisive and inept previous Labour Government is widely regarded as NZ's worst ever Government with the worst ever high profile cabinet ministers. Despite that, you never said diddly about them, yet you were trashing the new Government from the very first day they became Government.......but of course you're not a Labour Party devotee ....haha. Pull the other one, it plays Jingle Bells

Awful news for the mare and her connections. She would have been in demand as a broodmare when her racing days were finished. Her only NZ victory highlighted a mare with a big future. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=82E29F3F-68C2-4BFE-B0FE-0239471B00B9&Arg=hrnzg-rSite&Arg=TRUE

Those with a brain bigger than a sultana who are not still sulking over the election outcome knew exactly who I was referring to which was a perfect analogy .....especially given the demographic involved. Be kind to yourself H.R. You'd don't have to be a plonker every day of your life.....or do you?

Can people imagine what would unfold if the Business Round Table disliked the election result because it didn't gift out the favourtisim they had become accustomed to so they decided to protest on our motorways. Everyone else wanted to get to work or the hospital or the airport etc had to just suck on it and crawl along the motorway for hours. What would the Police and our alleged media do? Our Police would rightly rush in and arrest them quick smart and dump them in holding cells. I can also tell you what our alleged media wouldn't do with that outcome. Have excited journalists and "news presenters" giving the business round table and their agenda massive minute by minute oxygen and grossly exaggerating the number of people involved. They'd be in there interviewing angry motorists feeling far king angry at having their travel plans and day turned on it's head.

Speaking of irrelevant. ..Hipkins is the epitome of irrelevant. His front bench highlights two big things. 1) Labour have learned zero from the election drubbing and farcically believe the way forward is to do the same thing with the same people.....that NZ rejected. 2) Their talent pool......is bereft of talent. The irony for Hipkins is he's actually showing more fight now than he did while in Government but he's similar to Holy Ravioli. Barks at the moon with a grossly inflated view of himself and then tries to hump your leg like an over excited small lap dog. We can all recognize what he's up to. He knows what's left of the Labour Party will want a direction change over the summer with Kieran McAnulty as their new leader despite him saying he didn't want the job. Hipkins is desperate to retain the Labour leadership which of course is why he got rid of the previous biggest threat to that goal in Michael Wood. NZ as always needs a good opposition with a leader that represents an alternative to the Government of the day. Every day Hipkins selfishly stays on as Labour leader is a day where his personal wants and needs outweigh those of a country. NZ will NEVER embrace Hipkins and for a long list of reasons.

Haha. Funny that you should mention the "obsession" of others. They will need to increase their level of obsession to match yours. I get that you're disappointed with the election outcome. That occurs at every election but we live in a democracy which necessitates we accept election results even if we dislike what our fellow New Zealanders have voted for. The level of entitled petulance you display fits right in with the Labour Party and Maori Party. Sympathies to your wife and family. It's going to be a very long nine years + for them.

Even blind Freddy can see you're a passionate and bent out of shape Labour Supporter. At least have the personal integrity to own what you are rather than pressing on with your charade even after outing yourself. That aside, I don't actually blame you for wanting to distance yourself from the totally inept Labour Party.

Exactly....That's when I became a fan Chief.

Delightful Lady was a wonderful mare and at her peak was extremely hard to hold out. ...in saying that, Lord Module was not a front runner. All his best wins he finished over the top of them. Speaking of the Lady. My strongest memory of her was also in 1980 when she and a young Pete Jones driving old Bill "Hands Down" put a gap into them turning in. Looked for a moment like The Lady had Hands Down but DG and Pete were not to be denied. I can't believe a piece I read recently about the best 10 NZ Cups and Hands Down beating Delightful Lady didn't even get a mention. The race is on VHS and when it's transferred to DVD will post it on YouTube and here. Had a fascinating chat with Pete about that Cup. Awesome guy who I have big respect for.

Not sure it was a New Brighton Cup Chief. The only year it could have been was 1980 and he finished midfield behind.......Lord Module. What a great field it was that year. Some terrific horses. I do remember Single Lord winning a decent race at Addington. Found a race he won at Thames run at Alexandra Park in 1979 where he beat Graikos, Greg Robinson and Delightful Lady New Brighton T.C. Cheers Gammalite. It's been many moons since I laid eyes on him

That's a sad and cheap shot that says nothing about me H.R.....but speaks volumes about you. Many agree that the word "racist" has been weaponized in recent years. It's used to shut down robust discussion and also to put speakers on the defensive for having the audacity in a democratic country to have a different perspective. Once again the obvious aim there is to shut discussion down. It mirrors the way discussion about the transgender movement is closed down if you dare disagree with them. For the record, I grew up in Nelson. We didn't have Maori and Pakeha. I feel I speak for many when I say we were just Kiwi's growing up in a beautiful country. I've been on board the pro equity journey for better health outcomes for Maori.......but the Labour Government totally fcked that up. Race relations are a delicate sensitive issue that must be handled carefully and respectfully to all. Labour drove a bulldozer over and through it with arrogance and naivety and in doing so, divided NZ more than at any time since the 1981 Springbok tour. If you live in an echo chamber you may not have noticed any difference but everyone else witnessed it in many ways. Gifting free passes to serious Maori offenders made NZ a less safe place to live and work in. Pushing Maori patients up hospital waiting lists and "others" down based solely on ethnicity was a retrograde and divisive step, especially when you consider Maori have disproportionate demands on the health system anyway due to lifestyle choice. Care and support being dished out like graffiti based on ethnicity rather than need was always going to cause a sense of entitlement in some and resentment in others. To discuss this situation is most definitely not...... latent racism. As much as I dislike it, thank you for showing your hand H.R. It gives context to your input in discussions.

You do appreciate the wage subsidy and business "loans" were not just about the Government supporting tax payers....with tax payer dosh? They couldn't possibly have pushed ahead with the lock down agenda without those payments....unless they wanted unprecedented rioting. If we are going to discuss what the Government did during that period, it would be remiss not to discuss the long list of things they got terribly wrong while abusing the power they had. The Maori protesting today was organized by vested interest professional protestors. How dare the Government hold on to the sweetie bag that entitled Maori now wrongly believe is their right to tuck into all day every day. A few months ago, I visited a Maori birthing unit. Wow! it was hugely impressive with all the latest mod cons. It's the best funded birthing facility I've seen in NZ. ...meanwhile, other facilities for the rest of NZ struggle along making do with what they have desperate to be funded adequately. In numerous areas if Maori want the same treatment as "others"...they will be making taking big steps backward. I can promise you that if that facility was for "other" New Zealanders, Maori would be out in the street protesting....again

Another question Chief. Are you still in or near Nelson and will you be making an appearance at the Nelson trots in January? Will be good to meet up and have a cold one and find a winner if you're about.
