  1. The 'current' CEO of NZ Harness Racing only was employed in a GM role by the NZ TAB due to his working association with the ex CEO when at NZ Post. Obviously a case of the 'old boys network' which reading between the lines in this thread and others was activated to endorse and approve the application. How anybody with half a clue couldn't envisage the potential fallout is beyond me, honestly you would have to be thick not to see it. No wonder no one from management of the Board wish to comment on the matter when they have already dug themselves into a hole. At the next AGM of the Clubs the Board members and CEO should each get presented with a spade. Going silent actually makes it look worse, they would have been better to put their hands up, apologise for their incompetence and say "we #%#*ed up'". The 'stone wall' approach I guess says it all but its the flea way out. Over the years some people I know have questioned the integrity of the harness industry because they think its tainted with rorts, its a bad look when its portrayed in the news/social media that the the rorts start at the top. This just adds more ammunition to their argument. Yes NZ Cup Day was a big day for turnover but who in their right mind would want to get involved in the Industry given the current management. At least foal numbers are up.
  2. Thanks for clarifying that. I get confused easily reading all of their waffle
  3. Hello, haven't they heard of the 2020 Racing Act.
  4. The need to start the intervention to start with sacking the idiot(s) who put this crap together.
  5. Here is another bull💩 claim 'Bet 365 are acquiring 4 out of every 10 new betting customers as its highly unlikely they would have access to that type of sensitive information. . If they are acquiring that many customers, then someone is leaking them the new customer details. What about the call aging customer base aged 65 years plus with 37% growth and we can expect a sharp drop off from that group as they enter retirement. If 37% of your growth is coming from customers 65 years of older, they need to be moving out of racing and into funeral homes.
  6. Another classic call from their 2-year strategy. They were in Death Valley pre covid when the Government bailed them out. They cried it was Covid that had caused their poor financial situation you wonder what they would have blamed if Covid hadn't of been able to use as a mask. Today the new claim to justify their poor effort is offshore Companies taking their business and just to intensify the scare mongering they throw out a figure of $700 million as the amount of the gambling dollar lost and its worth $100 million to the industry, they just failed to state the true facts as usual that the majority of that figure is online casino money. They don't have the scale to compete with market leaders on product and platform development. So are they are now admitting the $50 million plus cost of their lemon of a betting platform along with $17 million in annual upgrading and maintenance is better served as an anchor although technically it is as it continues to weigh down the racing Industry. No one who was involved in the purchase of that monstrosity they call a betting platform should still be employed but no doubt if they are still there, they have risen management wise 🙄 I must admit they have introduced some good promo incentives to bet with them but once they shut the gate to betting overseas, they won't have to, and they can give crap odds well crappier odds than currently offered
  7. Who would know. You need a degree in bull 💩to understand what they are trying to say. 50 plus years they have had to do that, no wonder the industry is %$*#ed
  8. Poor buggers are dreaming to be thinking they will be collecting $100m extra a year. It's actually embarrassing that this figure could be reported to an Industry that is struggling. Whoever came up with that figure should be sacked for having no idea. I see they have put out a strategy update, obviously it was written by a comedian when you read the quotes below. Absolute dribble. Exactly what was their focus and ambition previously? The Racing Act defines exactly what the NZ TAB's focus and ambition needs to be. Obviously previous management were a bit slow. Don't have the scale to compete on product and platform development??? So the Industry spent %50 million on a lemon betting platform and $17 million a year to maintain and upkeep and it can't compete with overseas. It can't be that 'stateless' when the NZ TAB can't take any customers from Australia. Their plan below. Hate to think of what the plan was previously as what they have stated is just common business sense in the bookmaking world.
  9. Think it pertains to the 2021-22 season as the e-mail was sent 18th July so season was obviously not over.
  10. quote from NZ TAB CEO a few weeks ago in an e-mail. Number one lesson don't take much notice of figures given to you. More than $200 million in distribution? Only if your living in cuckoo land.
  11. recently and went to deposite $800 into his brother's account who wanted to have a few bets over the weekend, the operator said to him I don't know if I should be doing this as you could be laundering money. For #@%$'s sake the TAB set a 1k limit re laundering why question a customer when its under the limit. Under the Act they received the same compliance re money laundering as Australia so shouldn't even be a 1k amount involved.
  12. It's fine to have a budgeted figure verse actual but you should still also have the previous years figure included to give a truer indication as to performance. Once upon a time that's how they operated when quoting figures but it's no surprise to see why they don't any longer.
  13. $1.7m below Budget - yes but up $500,000 for the same month last year. Budgeted figures verse actual are a joke.
  14. Nobody I know uses the APP they all say its a piece of crap. They should have saved money and binned the thing.
  15. For June 2021 reported profit was $16 million which is $5 million more than this year. The budgeted figure was $12.7 million, why would you budget such a low comparable figure when you supposably cut costs this season? Comparable figures should always be listed against the previous actual figures not budgets, well that's how the majority of Company's operate their accounts when comparing figures from one year to the next. https://www.tabnz.org/tab-new-zealand-performance-update-june-2021 On track to distribute $200 million, another figure plucked from the sky.
  16. Profit down $17 million on last year so how did the CEO come up with a figure of $200 million in profit?
  17. they obviously don't employ anyone as a content manager or if they do they need to get the chop. They spend thousands on newspaper Melbourne Cup field info and don't update the recent form eg Caulfield Cup. Un %$%^en believable. Pathetic effort.

  18. More shit with the TAB wonderful site today what a joke. No info advising punters we have problems %^$^&en hopeless
  19. Ha I blocked this clown months ago. Who in their right mind would want to apply for the CEO position, it would be like applying for the Captains job on the Titanic after it's first voyage.
  20. Doomed and Curious that's what the cover looks like. The NZ TAB don't do much right but like I said above this is one area (no doubt thanks to the Editor and sub who know something about the Industry) that is something positive they have done.
  21. how does this happen. If I knew that my mate doesn't talk rubbish I wouldn't have believed it. Case #1024 Mate goes into his local TAB Agency (this one is operated by the TAB who have a manager running it) goes up to the counter and places his copy of Race Form on the counter while he gets his money out as his bets get put through. The sales representative taking the bets says to my mate "that Racing Magazine where did you get that from?". He knew nothing at all about it yet it is published by the NZ TAB who he represents selling their products. Mate said the guy has worked in the Agency not days or weeks but over a year. My mate was astounded that the guy was clueless on the publication. To be fair when you have nil management at your Head Office there has to be a ripple down effect to other staff. Mate said over the past few weeks he has gone down to his local club over the last three months and has had at least 10 punters ask him where did he get the Race Form from. He gets his subscribed but when he asked me where do people buy it from retail wise I had to say that I had no idea. The Race Form is a good publication and the NZ TAB have done a great job putting it together (I must be sick I actually said something positive about them) but they need to educate their staff as to what it is and to promote it to their customers who come into Agency's or outlets to bet at. Every customer should be able to sight a copy on or close to the selling counter especially now that Newspaper coverage is basically non-existent. What do you think would happen at any other Company who sold products and had a magazine which helped to sell to increase profits and had an outlet who didn't promote or display the publication to increase sales. Personally I would sack the Marketing Manager not the Agency worker as your only as good as the information your provided with. ----------------------------------------- Case #956 The above post reminded me of when I went into a TAB Agency about three months ago on a Sunday about 6:00pm. There were two other customers watching the races and the Agency sales representative whose body was positioned like the person below. I said to my mate when I told him "wish that I had my phone with me at the time to take a photo". I know we all can hate our job at times but you don't have to make it so obvious when dealing with customers. To be honest the wooden power pole outside the Agency would have more communication skills than this particular employee. He doesn't speak to say hello, how's your day or thank you. If your lucky he might grunt "pin number" when depositing and point to the keypad. Totally worthless, at least you could cut up the pole and use it for firewood. Ironic that the photo below comes from a collection called 'Focused'.
  22. https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/125098570/government-to-introduce-law-to-tackle-merchant-fees-saving-businesses-up-to-74m
  23. If a punter used his debit card to fund his TAB account on average once a week over a year it would incur fees totaling $111. Over 8 years of paying that totals $894. This is fees paid for supposed Merchant Fees charged by Banks which according to that Stuff story never occurred. If the above applied to me as a customer 100% I am taking the Party concerned to task seeking full re-payment and who wouldn't when your talking hundreds and possibly thousands of dollars that was effectively claimed by financial deception on each customer over a period of time. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/class-action-launched-against-asb-and-anz-banks/26USJSCM3TBGXYFFVXOVQ6RSJQ/?fbclid=IwAR2A66VbWCAvLN4rSrA6LMu8TbZvcwasl0aYFIb5zqDfuqCyxqFIDwu-o1w
  24. My mate phoned the Commerce Commission and was advised as to what steps to take to initiate an out-opt class action which means all those involved will be part of the case unless they opt out of it. Mate said Told him to start proceedings as there won't be much trouble finding people who will support it. A Government Regulated business screwing its customers over will make good headlines. The NZ TAB has in-house lawyers and allows crap like this to happen $%^k me
  25. Ha funny you posted that as I just got a call from a mate who got that worked up when he read the Stuff story he said he is phoning the Commerce Commission to make an official complaint and is going to demand an investigation is carried out as it involves millions of dollars obtained by fraud. Be a great story for the media: NZ monopoly organisation increased profits by millions each year by imposing non existent transaction fees on its customers. The legal definition of fraud describes it as a dishonest activity that causes a financial loss to an individual, company or corporation. To be considered fraud there must be an intention to deceive at the time of the incident.
