TE AWAMUTU...Just WHY do we still race there again??
Ronaldo replied to Thomass's topic in Galloping Chat
Heard that two senior jockeys wanted it canned, but yes, many wanted to go on. The two senior jockeys won out. -
Have a feeling it was more " matters off the track " that resulted in altercation.
-
She faced a racing charge from memory.
-
If she retires from the saddle could take up new career as female boxer, throws a mean right hook. Just ask Cory Parrish who probably still has the scar in close vicinity of his choppers.
-
Well deserved, with all that experience you'd wonder how it could happen.
-
That could have happened anywhere, you can't blame the club for that farce. Talking to some trainers today who couldn't have been more complimentary about the track, comparing it with say Te Rapa which they reckoned was a downright bloody disgrace. Reckoned they would rather race there over winter than pay $ 600 to float to Ruakaka from likes of Te Awamutu and than that is boring as batshit when one stable dominates in numbers and wins. It did have a front runners bias today as Mike Brown pointed out to us after an early race so we adjusted accordingly. Only horse that went against the pattern was Copper Fox, thank God. There was a large crowd and everyone seemed happy. The facilities are okay if you use trainer's or member's stands which are open to everyone, the main stand is a bloody eyesore though.

Avondale was fantastic today, has anyone heard Auckland may be having some problems with grass on new track ?
-
Hear from reliable sources that Avondale is now off the close down list, well a three year reprieve at least That gives them 3 more years to get some action plan in place, and seeing the club has a fair few well known lawyers in it's ranks , they should be able to come up with something. However assumed this was the jewel in the crown in regard to funding all the other plans and was first on the list to get the chop . It seems we are going to be getting nowhere fast. I don't know much about the law but hear there is no legal way to grab the course as long as the club isn't insolvent. Buckle in, it's going to be an interesting ride.

Driver of race 3 at Addington should get a holiday!!!!!
Ronaldo replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
We better hope he isn't reading it mate, the old retarded one would be done like a cold kipper. For a start for a possible defense, he would have to prove what a dead man was thinking when he did the deed and what inspired the act. After having had a suicide in our close family, to blame it on a living person is lower in morality than a limbo bar. -

Not only that but verging into libel. Just as well MP doesn't read this, you'd have to have deep pockets. Wonder what Tim Vince would think of it, being good mates with both. He doesn't usually hold back. -
A great man. Couldn't believe it at races few years ago, went away from my mates and when I came back he was with them, beer in hand, answering all their questions about Sunline. How many would do that with total strangers on a busy race day ? Met him a few times since and always a terrific gentleman who would say goodaye to anyone. RIP Trevor, you've well and truly earned your rest.
-
He was the dipstick that reckoned I hated the game because I reckoned it wasn't always % 100 straight. Telling him that I had raced pacers, that good mates were in official positions working at Alex Park , and even that I'd heard stories about old days from a few of drivers themselves made not an iota of difference. He reckoned the game was cleaner than Fong Lee's laundry.

Winx boring - yeah na. Id watch her every week.
Ronaldo replied to Chief Stipe's topic in Galloping Chat
When people who are paid to analyse horses say she is best they have seen in 50 to 60 years , it is pretty hard to go against. We always get the argument about travelling but that applies in reverse too, they could always come down under and take her on if so inclined, what is Cox Plate worth ? No, reckon she has nothing to prove and feel when she's gone we'll realise just how privileged we have been to watch her race, probably be no better in my lifetime anyway. -
Maybe with Richard's advancing age the marker pegs don't loom quite as large as they used to
-
Isn't her international rating 1 = in the world ? Agree , she has nothing to prove, let them come down under and take her on then, it works both ways. That UK horse that did venture downunder and ran in the Cox Plate, the trainer billed that as a top English horse and she made him look like Paddy McGinty's Goat.
-
Thank you, much appreciated.
-
Chestnut , must apologise for reacting in shitty manner to what were a few comments made in jest. Unlike me in nature , but wife is in hospital sick for about 7th time in a year and just venting as it can get on top of a person. Hope apology accepted and we can get back on an even keel in future

No not as obtuse as to not recognise something so obvious, just chose to treat with deserved disdain
-
I guess if you adopt a moniker such as that you have to roll with the punches. Hey, maybe Retarded Driver actually has a narcissistic complex and in reality is building himself up.
-
But assume we aren't talking about Junior
-
No, he 's been called many things but even someone with the IQ of a lobotimised sheep , would label Purdon a " retarded driver " LOL
-
Going by the accompanying part of his moniker, I'd say he's claimed 1 st , 2 nd and 3rd prizes. No one else would stand a chance.
-
Trim Williams ? Was he driving half cut ?
-
The topic of Purdon's horses in Australia did come up on one Australian harness forum last year. One poster was adamant that action be taken to stop them racing in Australia due to their continued success . Funnily enough was rubbished by every other poster with general feeling it would be equivalent of underarm bowling. Was pointed out no one has tried to stop their horses winning NZ Cup if they are good enough.

Hell, hope she doesn't read BOAY. You could face a nasty defamation charge.
