  1. He's a piece of work but in reality, a large bag of piss and wind. He's threatened numerous people on multiple websites over many years. Anyone who has the audacity to stand up to his bullshit know exactly who he is and what he's about.
  2. Amen to that Flag. The biggest plonker by panels that I've crossed paths with in my almost 50 years in the game.
  3. That can't be true Rangitira. He informed me that in his prime, he was a superior reinsman to the Maestro Maurice Holmes OBE, Peter Wolfenden MBE and Gavin Lang. What I've been unable to ascertain however is when Craig's prime was. Perhaps he was a misunderstood genius....but then again, perhaps he was just the Wanking Wally of Waimate.
  4. Over many years the way the TAB / broadcasters have informed punters about the details of a protest has been a frustrating pet hate of mine. Obviously a protest impacts on punters in potentially negative or positive ways so there is generally considerable interest yet the way we are informed is piss poor to say the least. I recall as a young fella prior to Radio Pacific listening to RNZ hoping they would pass on details of a protest on the previous race but they rarely did. The usual scenario was listening to shite on the wireless hoping the radio studio presenter would mention there was a protest but they seldom did. Only when they crossed over to the race caller for the next race you may get some crumbs of information. You'd ring the TAB and ask them if they could tell you what the protest was about and they usually had no far king idea. Could never understand this as the result of a protest is potentially every bit as important as the result of a photo finish. Now we have a new TAB website and I can see how far we've come in this area over the last 40 years. Same shit, different day, year, decade. Still can't tell you there is a protest on the site let alone what runners the protest concerns. At some point it would be magnificent if someone within the TAB organization was able to put some priority on providing this important basic information with updates as they unfold. On the score of protests and in the name of interest and transparency / integrity, I'd like to see a Trackside camera in the room for every protest. Allow us to see it all unfolding. Could be even more interesting and entertaining than what unfolded on the track. Who performs well in the room. Who fails. Who gets favoured treatment. Why the inconsistencies etc etc. I appreciate the ones making the decisions are a protected species but as the saying goes, Justice should not only be done, it should be seen to be done. No hope I know. One of the reasons being of course is that the three minute coverage in the room is not an earner for Trackside and they could fit two greyhound races from Wallomazoo in that time. I see the Waimate trots are on today. Looks a beautiful day there for grass track harness. Little surprised that champion local driver Craig Kennett has no drives. Would have expected owners and trainers from far afield to seek Craig's magnificent skills. I heard that he's a sewer executive these days. When asked about this Craig said he's part of a crew that removes shit from the sewer walls. He confirmed he scraps the shit off the sewer walls into a bucket and then passes that bucket to the next person in the chain until it's removed from the sewer. When asked how that made him a "sewer executive" Craig proudly stated he does not take shit from anyone.
  5. I should declare my hand Brodie and admit that I can't stand dog racing. The wall to wall stuff turns me cold as does some of the disgraceful antics a few of the trainers get involved with. Live baiting and the way thousands of dogs have been sent to the here after has helped turn me off the sport. I believe they deserve their own channel they can enjoy to their hearts content without turning the stomachs of many non dog punters. The way Trackside have totally screwed the channels is a far king disgrace. The same race being shown on both channels while another race gets no coverage due to them showing previews or old replays on the other channel is farcical etc etc etc. Nothing is going to change any time soon. Dog races are quick and often so it's turnover for Trackside and that as you know Brodie is their ONLY consideration / priority. They would have betting on rats running up drain pipes if they could organize it to happen often enough and encourage enough compulsive gamblers to "invest" on it. Here we have the 2.20 rat race from plonkersville. At drainpipe one is Fifthly Vermin, drainpipe two is Latrine Rodent, Drainpipe three is Stinking Rat and in drainpipe four is the veteran of the field, Bubonic Plague. Calling this afternoons feature is Pied Piper. Yes, the farcical American races. OMFG. Happy to watch the Kentucky Derby and Breeders etc but what they are serving up more and more is just the dregs. Pure crap. When do the goat races from Afghanistan start?
  6. No denying Tim Williams is a good driver but lets be real about it. He's been gifted a position other young drivers could only fantasize over. This has no doubt helped him hone his skills but he's also developing a reputation for frequently getting rolled on horses that other drivers are winning on. At the recent Southland meeting he was again beaten on three hotpots that shouldn't have been beaten. One was just bad luck but MP does not often experience bad luck in races, I was critical with two of Tim's drives. His decision making process cost him the victory on both trotters. Mark steered them last night and the outcome was never in doubt. The other horse Tim drove previously when a raging hot fav came from well off the pace turning in for a massive win in the last. Tim drives and all three were beaten. Mark drives them at their next start and all three win VERY impressively. As you say, he also found a way to have Ultimate Sniper beaten. There are many many similar examples. It would be remiss not to acknowledge this situation. I don't mean to be harsh but if I owned any one of the four horses he's been very surprisingly beaten on recently, I would be requesting that only Mark or Nat do all future driving on these horses.
  7. I half agree with you Brodie, I've seen drivers do exactly as you describe so many times it's almost expected. To be fair, I'd do it myself. Don't agree with Lamb making his call due to it being just another AS runner. My take based in the order I feel is most likely. 1) He feels considerable pressure to start the races as near to the advertised time as possible and feels any delays reflect on him. As a result we often have farcical starts. 2) He felt Virgil had every chance to get back on the gate. 3) He had his head up his arse and was more interested in saying "righttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt" the correct way and didn't actually notice how and why Virgil had gone off stride.
  8. Good Q's. I wondered if the stablemate holding third would have been questioned if Sam had said yes, that gallop in the score up did cost me at least a placing. Do they have to prove they would have beaten the runner that interfered with them? Even if they did, what happens in the score up has never resulted in a horse being relegated has it as the race hadn't technically started? That aside, I can't think of many protests over the years against a stablemate.
  9. The driver of Virgil gave evidence that her drive was not denied a fair start so was declared a starter. Really Sam? Mmmm. Interesting. I know what I witnessed and so do others. The stable ran 1st, 2nd,3rd and fourth so won't be disappointed with the outcome. What do they have to gain by making a fuss and highlighting the dubious actions of the starter? The stable would have gained nothing but may well have highlighted and humiliated Lamb. Surely the stipes could see for themselves and remove any potential "issues" by making the call? It seems now by this ruling that draws have no relevance to the race outcome and effectively a second row draw is no different to a front line draw. To my eye, the stipes and "others" have said an enormous FUCK YOU to punters and have only compounded Lamb's error. I ask these questions. If Virgil had been the only stable runner in the race, would they still be saying "no problem"? If the horse had one final chance to qualify for a feature race and the result last night meant they were denied that would they still be saying "no problem"? If the owners of Virgil had punted the horse big which they may have, would they still be saying "no problem"? Blind Freddy could see Virgil had not filled his 3 spot on the front line when the started said go. We could see that was due to being checked when the one horse galloped in the score up. A.B.C stuff surely? What am I missing? Woeful all round. Just to confirm, I didn't wager in the race myself but did watch with interest. A new benchmark has now been set and no real need for any starters to declare a false start now. Farcical is the word that comes to mind. It's my opinion that Lamb feels the pressure of the TAB race scheduling and the clock is causing him to say "happppppy" when clearly things are not as they should be. Race Comments Race 1 GARRARDS SIRES STAKES SERIES NO.36 (HEAT 1) MOBILE PACE Video COPPERFIELD - broke in the score up and shifted outwards checking outside runners. A warning was placed on the barrier record of the gelding. ONE CHANGE - checked in the score up but was able to regain its rightful position at the start. VIRGIL - checked in the score up and as a result was a length out of position at the start. Stewards lodged a Request for a Ruling with the JCA to determine whether VIRGIL had been denied a fair start. After viewing the replays and hearing evidence from driver S Ottley and Stewards, the JCA declared the horse a starter. ABOVE N BEYOND - held up throughout the run home. Driver J Dunn advised the deafeners were not activated in consequence. THE POWER OF PRAYER - over-raced and hung outwards rounding the first bend. FLYING EVEN BETTOR - raced greenly when being taken forward to lead near the 1400 metres. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=261829
  10. I see that. I must have been watching a different race. The race I watched had Virgil drawn 3 where he could have a dig for the top or at the very least secure a prominent position. I thought he was at least one and a half lengths off the arm at the start due to the 1 horse Copperfield checking him in the run up when that horse galloped. To my eye that is a clear case of Virgil being denied a fair start. I feel for any punter who sent this horse out second favourite in no small way due to the good draw. They have good cause to feel aggrieved.
  11. when he shouted "Happppppy" at the start of Race 1 at Addington tonight? Copperfield galloped in the run up and in doing so checked Virgil who did his best to be on the arm at the start but was one and half to two lengths out of position. This meant Virgil was denied the chance to gain a prominent position in the race. In other words, he was denied a fair start. It couldn't have been more obvious but Lamb, was "Happppy"to let them go. Blatant error to my eye. Surely, getting the basics right is a fundamental part of his role. If he can't do that, he needs to stand down and let a replacement get it right. I've lost count at the number of farcical starts Lamb has said "Happpppy" to. I think he's under pressure from the clock and that's at the heart of some of these farcical starts. I'm confident Virgil will be declared a late scratching which will be cold comfort for some.
  12. Who the fuck do you think you are to set yourself up as a school teacher talking down to a naughty child? You talk to me like that offline and you're fucking history. Safe online huh. Happy for you to disagree with me. I was just relaying the history I have with him which you have chosen to impose yourself into.
  13. Let's just say there is a long history there stretching back around five years at the oxidation pond. I acknowledge he does know a bit about the game but he's the quintessential online troll who would never have the bottle to throw his fluff offline. This is a new website so I thought time to move on with fresh starts etc. So what does the shitheel do? Restarts his fluff throwing with me. Some things never change and his boyfriends JJ and cross dresser are also worthy only of scathing contempt. Yes, they are entitled to express their perspective but when that perspective is licking Mark Purdon's arse and ridiculing anyone who doesn't , I will return serve with interest. Seems obvious they are deliberately attempting to undermine this site. I recall there being virtually no traffic at the oxidation pond and when there was, it was invariably Brodie putting up a perspective worth discussing. Along comes Basil Brush and ridicules the input and the site goes quiet for another week. It became an established pattern. The other dickheads are cut from the same cloth.
  14. Your usual load of twaddle Mr Brush. Yes, of course the All Stars are the great shining light in harness racing. Those insular folk who believe that are viewing a very small picture that completely ignores the fact harness racing is not just about one stable and their small group owners harvesting most of the meaningful gold in the game season after season. Anyone who has the audacity to see a potentially different picture are automatically your enemy which is why you and that wimp brain cross dresser are so scathing and ridiculing of Brodie. One day when you stop rimming each other and come up for air you will see Brodie is invariably close to the mark.
  15. He drove it well. Long time between drinks Well done Merv.
  16. Trotting on the grass is a pleasure to behold. More important now than ever. Friday will be ringing in our ears for decades to come. Americans have their dark days. The day the Japanese attacked Pearl. The day JFK was assassinated in Dallas. Armstrong's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind. The morning of 9-11 and of course hundreds of devastating gun massacres. We had the Ballantyne fire in 1947, the Wahine disaster in 1968. The horrible news of the missing DC 10 flight 901 at Antarctica in 1979 and the deadline passing for when it ran out of fuel. The Pike River disaster and the Christchurch earthquake both in 2010 and of course Friday's nightmare. I'm missing out a lot of major events of course but you get my drift. Historical events that for better or worse become part of this ride we call life.
  17. What don't you fuck off then tough guy. Nothing he said justifies being called the C word on a fucking horse racing forum by a shitheel. Get off your high horse, pull your head out of our arse, take your hand off your cock, then get back to yarning about harness racing etc. If you can't do that without using the C word, then slide back under your rock.
  18. As you all know I have a direct line with the internet service providers of JJ and Farts Too Much. I requested any youtube links showing the two of them so we could have a better understanding of who and what they are. The information provided by their ISP is of a highly confidential nature but I felt the greater good dictates that I provide said links.
  19. Interesting, You're happy to call someone a WANKER online without knowing them yet admit you'd never have the gonads to repeat your brave perspective to their face. Thank you for confirming exactly what you are Greg. A cowardly piss ant from the oxidation pond who's goal is to disrupt the flow of communication here in an attempt to turn this superb site into Oxidation Pond 2.
  20. Greg, You are the quintessential passive aggressive piss ant. We both know you'd never repeat your cowardly statement offline. As for "real owner". You're referring to Globe who is a very tiny part of an enormous syndicate. I wish him well as I'm certain he will be enjoying the ride but do me a favour with the real owner bullshit. You are Pollyanna in every sense. Wouldn't be shocked to learn you dress similar and also wear a ponytail. I couldn't possibly care less what Mick Guerin says and care even less about what utterly boring O'Connor says. If you need their fluff for credibility you're in deep trouble. Pouting Guerin lost any credibility he ever had years ago. O'Connor is just another Pollyanna who avoids anything remotely controversial in his quest to keep that show vanilla. As for Kings Landing having every chance to beat MM. Are you really that ignorant and ever had a thought of your own? What I've said many times about KL that impresses me most is his staying ability. He can work harder than the rest and still out tough them. He's the perfect Rowe Cup / Dominion Handicap horse for the next four or five seasons. He's the most exciting trotter I've seen since I Can Doosit and the connection with that horse is not lost on me. Surely, even an ignoramus like you can work out that the very worst way to drive a magnificent stayer like Kings Landing is trailing the leader and then hoping you can outsprint that leader who already has the jump on you, has plenty of gas left in the tank and can run a very fast quarter. The race was lost / gifted away the moment Williams decided to leave all of Kings Landing's biggest and best weapons in a locked box and trail. That aside Greg, I'm a very generous man and will happily meet you and afford you the opportunity to repeat your personal abuse in person.
  21. I forget nothing and have also not conveniently overlooked aspects to suit my perspective. I'm not surprised you have big raps on your boy. Very smart horse who will win plenty if he stays sound. It's the start of heavyweight boxing match. If you can't be optimistic at the start especially after winning the first round, why bother even putting your hand up? I am however surprised to read someone who's perspective I respected mock what I've stated and totally misread events on the track. The other nancy boy Pollyanna claimed Kings Landing had every chance to beat MM. Now, you're repeating that same foolish mindset. In the immortal words of John McEnroe, "You can't be serious" I know you will well remember the likes of Delft and David Monster Moss. Both horses could tear off quick sectionals but sprinting is not what both are remembered for, in fact if sprints were what mattered most, you probably wouldn't remember either. The race where your boy beat Kings Landing was justifiably very satisfying from your perspective but a no race in the eyes of many. MM was able to run the sectionals he wanted and turn it into a short sprint up the straight where Kings Landing would have to low fly over a short distance to finish ahead of your boy. That was in my not so humble opinion, the only way MM could beat KL at this stage. David Moss as great as he was would also never have been able to get past MM had it been him twiddling his thumbs in the trail like KL. All of the big weapons were never used. Had Kings Landing popped straight off the moment MM headed him and controlled the race from the top or the chair, MM would have had no hope of beating KL. I'm confident time will highlight my take is absolutely correct. If I'm wrong, I will happily tip my hat to MM and stop making big calls on trotters.
  22. Will give you that one Globe I'm stoked your boy won. It's a pity it took a superb drive and a diabolical drive to decide the result. That won't be happening again any time soon. ps. I labeled Monbet as the next big thing after it's second start. I sincerely believe Kings Landing will in time, be better than Monbet. My quote is "Kings Landing is the best trotter we've had since I Can Doosit"...I stand by that but may have to reconsider that if Enhance Your Calm stays sound. One thing for sure, we are in for some great trotting features over the next couple of seasons. Fingers crossed that at least some of the spoils are shared.
  23. Not big numbers but 11 emphatic D's and 1 C from 12 votes is about as clear cut as it gets. A big thumbs down for the new TAB website. Why am I not surprised? The site is far king hopeless and the most depressing aspect is we are now lumbered with it. NZ TAB website. The most expensive turd since Captain James Cook stepped foot on these shores. Well done John Allen who knows best. Give yourself another raise and an extended family holiday at the Halekulani hotel in Honolulu.
  24. Two months in. What say you? A) Huge improvement. I enjoy my betting more than with the old betting platform and as a result I now wager more. B) Improvement in some areas on what we had previously but still work to be done. C) It's made no difference to me. D) I think it's an absolute lemon. The issues seem to reflect a crap betting platform rather than "teething issues". I have no confidence in the site or those tasked with delivering a top quality betting platform. It's impacting negatively on my wagering experience. As bad as the previous TAB website was, I'd prefer that to what we have now. The new website is doing a sterling job of encouraging NZ punters to wager offshore. ahhhhh (D) from this punter.
  25. Always interesting to hear the perspective of punters that take their betting seriously. I've always maintained that in most cases, the background support that young drivers receive invariably makes all the difference. I thought John Dunn was very average early on. His M.O was to go far to early, circle the globe and then be buggered before turning in. That was routine. Other young drivers may have been shown the door but John was given every opportunity to succeed by his father and slowly improved. His skills honed and his confidence increased. Now, I rate him as a superb driver and an excellent judge of pace. Tony Cameron was in my opinion, woeful early on. I would confidently lay anything he drove but Tony H has guided him well and routinely put him on strong winning hopes. As a result, he's improved out of sight. Still a ways to go but has shown enormous improvement. As for the money being on. That can be a godsend or a total pain in the arse. I've studied form for a race going back 12 months with very runner. I feel I have a good understanding of where the runners are with each other in terms of form and ability etc. I place my wager and then see a horse attracting big money very late despite considering that runner needing a lot of luck to feature. It's too late to react with saver bets. That runner goes wide, sits parked and then bolts to the front like it had a rocket propeller stuck up it's arse and wins very easily. It looks like it could then go around again. At times I'm left wondering why I even bother with form and ability. On the other hand, if you're not certain which way to go, just wait for the tote movement as your guide. It's become so reliable and predictable that you'd almost think the races were run on paper and the results were predetermined. Having said that, I place a very high value on what form a stable is in when placing my wagers. I ride their form. A trainer in form can almost win with a 12 year old maiden where as a trainer out of form will find a way of getting a good thing rolled.
