Thing with Rick M is most either think he's either wonderful and great for the game.....or he's fingernails down a blackboard. I respect you're the former Bec but myself and many others I rub shoulders with are in the second category. He works himself into a lather more than the chasers he's calling. I feel he has latherin on his cornflakes instead of milk

The female Vic caller is a shocker. Monotone epitomized from start to finish. Yep, mute for sure. Who would be the worst caller of all? Perhaps one of those bloody awful American callers who can't be arsed calling anything at the finish other than the winner? or the Japanese caller who remarkably makes every call sound exactly identical. Allow me to illustrate verbatim as I have his calls down pat now. "They are all moving into the gates well for this third race. There are three corners in play with 14 horses in competition. Off they go and all horses off to a good start (code for shocking start with two runners missing the start badly). Around the first corner and it's bla bla bla on the inside.........and around the second corner and it's bla bla bla on the outside.....and around the third corner and down the stretch they come....bla bla bla is still just in front (is actually out by six lengths) and at the finish it's bla bla bla just getting there (actual result is the horse he called second won the race by a half length). Hippo races from Africa on the way soon. Stay tuned. Thank you NZ TAB. I managed to secure footage of a leading Hippo trainer with his unorthodox method of getting his charge ready for the prestigious group 1 Zulu Handicap.

I read about this a while back. What a joke. It's been my experience that many people with too much power, make serious blunders especially when the money being used is not their own hard earned. You'd have to be a complete moron to make the enormous fundamental blunders above. No doubt a significant pay rise will be coming their way. How does that saying go.... "Buy in haste, repent at leisure" John Allen's twin brother?

Sunday on a long weekend and no Harness Racing on in NZ. People are often busy and just don't have time to attend race meetings so days like today seem a perfect day for harness racing. No gallops either but plenty of Australian races. WTF. Do the decision makers in NZ prefer we wager on offshore horse racing?

There are some serious punters associated with Fitzpatrick and at times it really shows. NSW Harness races are often a choreographed farcical game of musical chairs. Remember, it's only a rort if you're not in on it

He's an ok caller Flag. He has two favourite sayings that he reaches for often. "further back than Walla Walla" and "like a startled Gazelle" Gets a bit excited but not as bad as Jimmy Jaques who calls a $2000 load of crap chook raffle race at Globe Derby like it's the G1 Miracle Mile. Bottom line is I would welcome Craig as he would be an improvement at "the ribbon of light" and "all dressed up and nowhere to go" I'm certain he would avoid at all costs far king stupid and obsequious pet names for drivers like The Chief, The Iceman, The Magic Man, The Wizard" I felt nauseous just typing those seriously cringe-worthy names. Worst caller in Australia for my money is the Vic caller Rick McIntosh. Enthusiasm is one thing but he goes so overboard I'd rather hit my thumb with a hammer than listen to his calls. I love jumps racing but watch Vic jumping races with the mute on. Not only is he a screamer, he also misses significant events during races because he's screaming a load of twaddle. He makes Trevor Wilkes look like a great caller.

Very good question in regard the all important confidence. I could look at the site now and it be running reasonable which is as good as it gets. Fact is, I would be expecting it to shit it's self at any time. As a result, I have absolutely no confidence in the site and my punting enjoyment has decreased. I wager fairly often and there has not been one day since the new site arrived that I haven't been frustrated enough to just shut it done and exclusively wager on my main offshore account. Anyone who bets solely with the NZ TAB must have a very large box of Panadol ready on standby. I sincerely believe the site is a fucking disgrace run by a bunch of folk who have their heads firmly entrenched up a dark orifice. I'm picking they believe the site will magically come right in the future. Safe bet pardon the pun that they also believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa, Leprechauns and Unicorns. They are led by the gormless smiling master of placating. They no longer suffer "leakage". It's become an exodus. Not only are they losing customers in droves, they are also losing considerable goodwill from those who have either totally lost confidence or are on the way to that point. They need to either return to the old shit site which was at least better than the present stinking turd or they need to invest in another platform. The one thing for certain is they require a leader to stand up and own the fact this new site is a piece of shit and they farked up badly with their "investment". I remember a quote about 15 years ago from none other than ex champion hoop Lance O'Sullivan of all people that describes the new site to a tee. "Punting is good, but it's not that good"

I've mentioned several times on here that I have a level of discomfort when I see the same family name competing against each other in harness races. My radar is especially up in NSW and Queensland. Menangle raced on Tuesday. R2. Paul Fitzpatrick trained the $1.50 raging hot favourite Jay Ok. Gavin Fitzpatrick drove the horse. Blake Fitzpatrick trained the 50-1 shot Fantasy Miss and did the driving. Jay Ok strolled to the lead in a breeze from 2 off the arm knowing full well the only horse inside him is the 50-1 shot which would be trailing him. Jay Ok is going peaches and cream in front under no pressure. Appeared to be pacing beautifully. Times and margins? 600 out Jay Ok went in to a gallop and Gavin Fitzpatrick quickly got out of the way which allowed the 50-1 Fantasy Miss to be gifted the lead. 100 metres later Jay Ok is back pacing smoothly again and didn't put a foot wrong for the rest of the race but it's chances were over. Fantasy Miss strolled away to win easily as if it was the $1.50 favourite. Coincidence I'm sure but not a good look and not for the first time. Would be very interested if there were any wagering irregularities on this event. I was told on Thursday by a mate in Sydney that money collected off the winner by two people he knew about would pay for a luxury world cruise and still have dosh left over. https://www.hrnsw.com.au/trotstv/replays/40694

We have our own perspectives on for drives that determine if it was a good or not so good drive. I have two drivers I consider "spoiler" type drivers. Scott Phelan in the North and Jonny Cox in the South. They are both very talented drivers but get beaten disproportionately on well fancied runners and stuff up predicable finishes with pregnant goats more than most. The Doorman deserved to start favourite or close to it and did but the bigger bets for the horse never arrived. As a result I put a line through it last night. When Cox made a play for the front I felt his attempt lacked sincerity. I could understand Robbie Close handing up to Cox but only if Cox was determined to lead. As soon as Cox got the lead he handed up which was effectively the end of Pauls Verdicts winning chances. Close perhaps should have seen the writing on the wall when Cox was fluffing about instead of just grabbing the front. Spoiler Cox had no business being in front on a horse who was not nailed down to win. The signs were there. https://harness.hrnz.co.nz/gws/ws/r/infohorsews/wsd06x?Arg=hrnzg-Ptype&Arg=RaceVideo&Arg=hrnzg-RacehdrID&Arg=263962

Pretty sure it was this race. Some superb horses in the field. Same year he brilliantly won the NZ Cup. Speaking of Forbury. I have a fading memory about a race Lochie Marshall called there in around 1980. Unsure if it was the Barton Memorial when he easily beat Roydon Scott. Maybe not. What I do remember was Lochie clearly stating at one point late in the race that Lord Module was not trying and was being pulled. It's the only time I can remember a NZ racecaller over the last 45 years suggest in a call that a horse was not trying. Anyone else remember that call?

Is it ? I'm in awe of your comedic genius. I can't fire anything back about your penis as I have no idea what it looks like and have no interest. That would require a very strange individual or a raging gaylord. Which one are you? Perhaps both?

Came up M.T Had a draw in the last game between Australia and Italy. Moments away from my biggest ever collect and the Italians were gifted a dubious penalty which they converted. Great divers the Italians.

My strong instincts to unload have never been that strong so we have to admire his determination. I'm sure for every one of him there is a very long line who's wager did not end happily ever after. Would have loved to watch him during the last round. Bet he couldn't sit still. I remember a multi I had where I stood to win a 115k during a previous Football World Cup. Was Fonzie until the last match....then I wasn't

Who needs a Grays Sports Almanac? I admire the guy and you have to admire his wife. Not many would have her attitude. Hope he stops now and retires a massive winner.. https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/golf/112072117/winner-of-12-million-tiger-woods-wager-was-a-firsttime-sports-bettor

Canceling special events that are our way of life due to the possibility some nut job may target them is losing the game before kick off. Soft targets are the usual go for shitheels wanting to blow up innocents or drive a vehicle into them so should we close up all Cafe's and bars as they are invariably full of innocents? Are we going to cancel Easter and Christmas so we don't offend the extremely tolerant religion of peace? All this because some lunatic targeted Muslims in Christchurch. How many times has that happened since the treaty was signed in 1840? Line the offender up against a wall and blow his far king brains out but don't punish the rest of us. We had nothing to do with it and 99.99% are absolutely disgusted by what he did. I do understand that there are only so many Police to go round so it's all about management. Having said that, we must not live in fear as we will have already voluntarily given up. That's not the Kiwi way is it? We honour our brave servicemen and women on Anzac Day. Many paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of our freedom. How pathetic is it for us to stop honouring them for any reason but especially fear?

But what is his own? I'm picking one of these.

Your namesake? I looked through the drivers list and was unable to find a driver named Bell End so you must be mistaken. Love and best wishes to your mum for letting you back on her computer on Sundays. Are there sites you're not allowed to keep visiting or does she sit with you while your on it?

First 4 in 1. Race 7. 1st, 8 The Fixer. 2nd, 6 Chase Auckland. 3rd, 2 Ashly Locaz. 4th, 5 A G's White Socks. My logic is that it's the biggest stake of the day means a certain AS victory. They have multiple runners so will use their numerical advantage to gain control of the race as per usual which invariably equates to 1st. 2nd and third. The fourth placing crumbs will likely go to the best of the rest. Should pay $40+. I'm sure the AS will be disappointed if third and fourth are reversed to the order I've predicted.

Driver of race 3 at Addington should get a holiday!!!!!
Joe Kidd replied to Brodie's topic in Trotting Chat
Fartswaywaytoomuch is not MP. I've had my technicians track down fartys IP address and set up a camera to record some of his activities that produced enlightening results. We had to censor out the part where he was giving it a tug while talking about MP. -

I feel it does substantially more than just verge on libel Ronaldo. If MP hasn't read that snot himself, I feel certain someone associated with him would have steered him toward it. I'm picking they have looked at the writer and felt he's obviously a cowardly, young and extremely stupid piss ant and taking him to the youth court over the school holidays would achieve zero. Brazilian Ronaldo or Portuguese Ronaldo? I hope the former -

This must win hands down the most obscenely ridiculous message I've ever read on this topic or any other topic involving Mark Purdon. John Seaton was a close friend of MP's and the only blood was on John's own hand when he made the devastating choice at 55 to take himself out. When a person makes that decision there are invariably numerous factors involved that get them to that point. I've been critical of AS dominance especially in the high value races but the message above lessens the value of all online harness forums. We all remember well the judgment errors MP made with Light and Sound but he's paid for that over a decade ago. The last man to live his life without making an error ended up being nailed to a cross. -

I don't comment on what Thomass says but I do read most of it. I find it is invariably informative and an easy enough read. He's exactly the sort of contributor that gives sites like this a pulse. Without people like him this superb site could turn into another RC bore-fest where vested interest, arrogance and the misogynistic Ted the troll are the menu of the day.
