  1. What if he is a serial offender? He plays the margins as a lot of the top Jocks do. In your words many of the top Jocks are serial offenders. If they "sometimes gets away with it" whose fault is that?
  2. I wouldn't be surprised if the Thoroughbred kingpins chewed Winnies ear as well to get rid of them.
  3. That's why he is successful in OZ is it not?
  4. De Lore hasn't written a rational article in a decade and Lichter is in the pocket of the owners he writes for who just happened to be affected by the Judge's decision.
  5. Are you talking gross revenue or gross turnover? If it is gross revenue then I'd question the gross turnover being $1.4 billion lost.
  6. Doesn't Arion Pedigrees object to the two OZ races being Grp races?
  7. But the best horses are not chosen on merit instead each horse by an owner and slot holder auction process.
  8. This is what Ballarat produced yesterday: Penetrometer 5.46 Rainfall 2mm last 24 hours, 32mm last 7 days Last Update Inspection 6AM 7/12; Chance of showers throughout the morning Race 1 Good 4 Race 7 Good 3
  9. When a horse slips or when a Jockey says their horse felt like it would slip. Then the Stewards are all over it!! Well here are some questions for the RIB - the S5 was BS - was a penetrometer reading taking at 6:30am? Were any horses galloped on the course prior to the meeting starting which is in the NZTR protocol?
  10. Without a tail wind? Indicates how hard that track was.
  11. Just read more of the report the first upgrade from S5 to G4 was retrospective to race 1. That is they ran the first race, which was untimed and then decided it was a G4. Did Oatham or Goodwin walk the track when the got to the course presumably prior to race 1? When did they test the timing and Photo Finish equipment which are both linked? I notice no one reported back to the Trackside Studio.
  12. From the Stewards Report: Due to equipment issues, no Photo Finish or Official Timing was available for Races 1 and 3, with the inside Photo Finish camera only being operational for Race 2. So if they had no times for the first three races then they were relying on Jockey feed back for the track ratings? Lucky there wasn't any close finishes as well. From my observation of some horse actions there will be some sore ponies today. Soft 5 was complete BS. Very very amateur all round on a Grp 1 day.
  13. Was it? Looked like concrete to me. There'd be some sore horses off that surface today. But what about this is the Stewards Report? Due to equipment issues, no Photo Finish or Official Timing was available for Races 1 and 3, with the inside Photo Finish camera only being operational for Race 2. Conveniently no timing would hide what the Shute was like.
  14. An excellent ride by Jaylegh Kennedy to win the Ballarat Cup on Berkeley Square. A very very good young apprentice from Wingatui - NZ!! Great interview afterwards as well. Shame the Big Saturday didn't mention Jaylegh is another supremo export from the South Island!
  15. RIght - Trentham now a G3! Result for race 4 is on NZTR - no time! But not results for the first 3 races!
  16. Trentham 3 races now and no times. Ellerslie 2 races and times and last 600m. Oatham is the stipe at Trentham.
  17. Uh?! Ellerslie has the result and time for R1 on the NZTR website but Trentham nothing yet for the first two races!
  18. WTF are the race win times? Not on the TAB site and seems NZTR are only posting videos and no results. Perhaps they are having committee meetings to decide the race win times?
  19. Wow! How brave are the Stewards?! They upgrade to a G4!!! Joe Doyle reckons the track is "firey" and Gryllsie said it is a G3! Of I forgot the policy is to only upgrade 1 rating at a time!!!
  20. Have they changed the rules for Ellerslie? According the Track Curator they started irrigating at 8pm last night and didn't finish until 6:30 am this morning - RACEDAY!! Seems the only way they can keep it soft is by mechanical means! 13mm tynes used on the aerator! Race Day Weather: Fine Track: Soft 5 Moisture Meter: 25.3% Rail: Out 5m Rain: No Rain Last 24 Hours | No Rain Last 7 Days Irrigation: 15mm Irrigation Applied Overnight Weather and Track updated at 7.09am Saturday 7 December
  21. Gryllsie after race one says Trentham is a G3!!! Then how was it a S5 at 6:30am? Race Day Weather: Fine Track: Soft 5 Moisture Meter: 30.8% Rail: True Rain: 2.3mm Rain Last 7 Days |No Rain Last 24 Hours Irrigation: N/A Weather and Track updated at 6.35am Saturday 7 December
  22. I would have thought that the dead and exported would be reported by NZTR. What is more concerning is those horses where the Trainers have made in clear in a news report that they are not going to a particular race yet are still high in the market. I know a couple that are in that space at the moment. I heard recently one owner saying that a certain Journo and the bookies knew about a high profile withdrawal from a race BEFORE the owner did!
  23. All a bit ordinary class wise so far. Sought After Domain Ace Captured By Love (Magic Millions 2023 Sale) and Alabama Lass (Inglis Sale 2023) are both ineligible for the Kiwi B. The same with Love Poem which was sold at the Inglis Easter Sale. None of them were conceived in NZ either.
  24. Attending a recent provincial meeting there were more tote staff than customers. Even on Trotting Cup day you didn't have to wait too long to get a cash bet on. So the margin on cash bets oncourse must be low.
  25. A Good 4?
