Seems the Stipes didn't make the decision. Kennedy and Doyle did. Should have been written up in the report. Again no consistency from the Stipes.

I wonder if we will get to see the Stewards Vision? There shouldn't be a problem as no human or horse was injured. Will they use the full 7 days to post it?

But not mentioned in the Stewards Report. Since when has Guerin been a stipe?

Where did you read that Sabrina Hall slipped badly? In the Stewards Vision it was hard to see if any horse slipped. It wasn't mentioned in the Stewards Report either. No horses slipped in Race 2. Immediately following this race, a number of riders expressed concerns regarding the footing around the bend. After further meeting with all riders another track inspection committee was convened with the decision being made to abandon the meeting. Report 2024-10-28 Te Rapa-1.pdf

Horse slips but apparently it lost a shoe. I would have thought that wouldn't have put the races back a race though. A friend walked the track and said it was very firm and had a Hastings feel to it but with shorter grass.

How does a post Saturday racing review work without at least one decent form analyst? Or is it just a Sunday smooch show? I like Jayne Ivill as a trackside birdcage commentator as she has an eye for how a horse looks on the day but she should leave race sectional analysis alone. As for Guy Heveldt does he really add any insight?

You miss the point. If they spent less time showing people talking in the Studio you would get what YOU want and that is more time in the field at the races. Which is what happened after the Cox Plate.

Why do you need a studio presenter at all during raceday?

Can any explain what's the point of going back to the studio to listen to Guy and Emily? They only talk. They don't actually show anything like a speed map etc. Having a studio presenter is so old school. The Ozzies don't do it for racing. The Supercars producers don't do it. All their broadcasting is about the action. Not watching a couple of people in the studio read from a raceform!!!

Well I think he said in his phone call that he didn't think they would go really wide today!

The other thing to consider though is that they have changed the noms and acceptances timings for Monday races haven't they?

Sometimes you do for bigger meetings. What would be interesting is if they irrigated late this week. Surely more information is better especially if it is being collected anyway.

But then what is the point of doing them for noms and acceptances? Surely they are doing measurements each day as part of their track management? Track reports seem to be getting more unreliable.
