Weigh In will return to television screens on Monday night. Photo: Supplied Weigh In returns NZ Racing Desk 16 October 2020 New Zealand’s only television show dedicated to news and reviews of the thoroughbred industry returns on Monday. Weigh In will screen live at 8pm on Monday nights after a new 30-programme series was commissioned by some of the biggest names in New Zealand racing. TAB NZ no longer makes racing magazine shows as their mandate has changed to primarily driving turnover to maximise profits to return to the industry. But the thoroughbred racing industry will now have weekly review shows through the support of those involved in the industry, a family of sponsors put together through the work of David Ellis. Weigh In will be hosted by Emily Bosson along with regular panellist Michael Guerin but will also see the return to NZ television screens of respected presenter Luke Radich as well as expert panellists and guests. The show will not only review the week’s best races in New Zealand and Australia but discuss industry news and feature regular segments on developments inside the industry, personality profiles, including club news, major race days and the sales and breeding industries. Weigh In will also showcase the New Zealand thoroughbred racing industry to Australian viewers through Sky Racing and numerous overseas and domestic platforms. Weigh In has moved from its previous Sunday morning slot to 8pm every Monday night and the first show of the new season will analyse the Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m), Great Northern Day at Ellerslie, A$15 million The Everest (1200m) and the Gr.1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) as well as a detailed look at Breeze Ups day for the upcoming Ready To Run sales at Karaka. -
I find Emily Bosson particularly grating doing the Trackside Studio presentation on Saturday's. To the point where I turn the sound off when watching Trackside until a immediately before a race starts. I listen to Sky Sports Radio from Australia in between finding the buildups to the OZZIE races fantastic. Emily just seems to have an irritating voice and a formulaic repetitive style. No doubt influenced by the training of a recently retired presenter! As for Michael Guerin - I find his style irritating as well. His knowledge is great but his smarmy way of speaking turns me off. Seems to me that the Aussie TV presenters seem to have a radio style where they describe things better whereas we seem to be focussed on an old style TV presenter where the focus is on looking and sounding good rather than delivering the information we want to see. I'm not sure I'll be tuning in on Monday 8pm to Weigh In!

I think you are all being a bit hard here. The interference was such that a driver was dislodged and on the ground at one stage. The horse following had nowhere to go and the driver of that horse had the presence of mind to grab the head of the horse with the still incapacitated driver. Arguably if he had continued to drive past that horse we would have seen either a driver being dragged or a loose horse. In my opinion it is fair to late scratch them. Generally if a runner comes to the aid of another runner they late scratch them.

Seems rein use is affected under the new rules. A good driver can give one hellava slap across the rump with a rein! The PC brigade will ask for sheepskin liners!

Whose categories are these? I thought it was Sprint, Middle Distance, Long Distance.

LOL the hotpot goes down and the maiden horse wins! Hardly an elite game is it?

Questions for TAB NZ regarding their Betting Limits.
Noodlum replied to Noodlum's topic in Trotting Chat
With the new system they do it programmatically regardless of how much is bet. I've had it happen to me where after a good run of wins over a couple of weeks the moment I placed a bet the fixed odds were lowered before I could accept. After accepting the reduced odds the odds on offer were higher! -
Mehe you are either full of BS or the person you spoke to at the TAB is as big a numpty as you are. Suggest you review the Terms and Conditions on the TAB website. Assuming you have some degree of basic literacy you will find numerous clauses where the TAB can restrict your betting. I don't think there is any horse racing gambling corporation that doesn't place limits on winning. https://www.abc.net.au/news/2019-01-20/gambling-how-bookmakers-stop-winning-betters/10708394

You are digging a big hole here.
-
Well that was a bit pointless other than you have proven to everyone you are politically naive as well as aren't prepared to express your opinion or you don't have any.
-
There's no way in 100 years that National would give $100m to renovate marae's. However what is your OPINION?
-
Appears so but whats your OPINION?
-
You really are naive! Regardless of who would have or wouldn't have Labour DID it! The question is what is your OPINION on that sort of spending which requires borrowing to fund?
-
Here's some facts for you Mehe. Maori iwi got $1b out of the PGF - Jone's slush fund given to him by Labour. They got a third of it. The latest tranche was $100m to do up their Marae's. Apparently it will create 3,000 jobs. Cant be much left for paint and nails! Ngai Tahu only got around $200m to settle their Treaty claim in 1996. Now that's a bloody big fiscal hole!
-
Crusher has gone full out attack mode today. About bloody time. FFS the Herald did a fact check on Collins saying Adern lied about Covid-19 MIQ testing. Their conclusion- "Arguably yes - but not intentionally." FFS!
-
Running them down? By clearly articulating my views backed up with indisputable fact. Compare your posts!
-
None but I find it pathetic.
-
So you only post to be anti Brodie? Speculative bullshit Mehe. Going on the past record of National any sensible person would disagree with you. Labour hasn't delivered on ONE of its promises. But that's OK Princess Snowflake is really nice and kind and sounds good.
-
I think you have got your party's mixed up. It is National that fixes Labour's largesse. When Labour won the last election the Government coffers were full, there was a surplus and debt as a % of GDP was around 17%. Now the coffers are empty, they are running a deficit and debt per GDP is heading past 55%. Then why enter the debate when you are obviously out of your depth?!
-
Prove it? The mistake was only $4b. Which is $7b less than the mistake in Labour's prior to the last election. No they can't - it took a review by Stuff to alert Labour to errors in their election budget prior to Stuff publishing it publicly i.e. the friendly media gave them a chance to correct it. As for the $150b that's what these turkeys have borrowed. $4b is pretty insignificant when looking at that figure. About 2%!
-
Have you forgotten the $11 billion hole Labour had going into the last election? Which they turned into a $150 billion actual hole?
-
Eh girls what's all the bitchiness about? Not even a full moon!
-
Bit short for me at 51's.
