  1. For a start when the RIU say's "they" I betcha they mean the licensees have asked through their lawyers. The HRNZ can't turn a blind eye as it isn't the RIU that issues licenses. This is going to be very very messy.
  2. That isn't fair justice. Remember Peter Moody.
  3. I doubt it. The RIU don't manage the licenses HRNZ do.
  4. YES they are. Presumably they are enforcing the banning from being on a racecourse or have I missed something and they have revoked that ban? Arguably if a trainer and/or a driver are banned from being on a racecourse then a significant amount of their work is restricted.
  5. They enforce the licence to train and drive. RIU doesn't.
  6. This process could take years. If I was an accused and was banned from earning an income I would have my lawyer seeking injunctive relief ASAP. The argument being innocent until proven guilty, prevented from earning an income therefore impairing the defendant's ability to defend themselves, if proven innocent the defendants will have suffered a penalty unfairly. HRNZ and the RIU had better be careful with the bannings because effectively they have penalised the defendants WITHOUT ANY form of hearing. I would have thought that the proper process would have been to charge them under the racing rules first and then go through that process.
  7. The thoroughbred stats aren't any better.
  8. I don't see anything wrong as long as the raceday rules are applied consistently.
  9. I disagree. Our country is too small to maintain more than 2 degrees of separation. The real question is can individual RIU staff maintain integrity, professionalism and consistency. Our judiciary do it and there are checks and balances to ensure consistency. That's why I'd never recommend doing away with the JCA.
  10. Yeah he wouldn't know what rein to pull now he's an expert on harness when previously all he did was support the Gypsy banging done by the other fella!
  11. Ask Thomas the resident expert on RIU/JCA inconsistencies. At least the Harness horses get tested for TCO2 in BOTH islands.
  12. If this spinning blood thingi is only for rehabilitation and therepuetic treatment how come it is being injected during the week while horses are in race training mode? Does it have the same anti-inflammatory effect as bute but isn't traceable?
  13. I was ambivalent about this blood business but going by some people's fervent defence of it I'm starting to wonder. Does anyone know what are the rules with regard to a non vet injecting the stuff back into a horse?
  14. Who is he referring to? I'm still posting on the other site. I use a different name of course. Seems all a little unhinged. Anyway those reading this site already know it isn't blood doping. The thing I don't get is if it isn't performance enhancing why post on facebook the success of the stables that are using it? If it is theraputic then do the stables that use it have a lot of stressed out horses? If it is used as a preventative does that mean those that use it can work their horses harder? It seems to be an expensive treatment if it is used regularly. How long does the "treated" or "processed" blood last for in the fridge? It seems you can only use the processed product on the horse that the original blood came from.
  15. Some interesting information being posted. Thanks as it is quite enlightening. All the same what you are saying is that no one is breaking any rule's per se just working them better than others. Happening in Sydney with the Thoroughbreds too.
  16. Yes it isn't going to end well if the Thoroughbred stakeholders try to assert what they perceive to be an privileged position. All hell will break loose from the harness and greyhound codes and justifiably so. Quite frankly the Thoroughbred racing code has been the architect of their own demise and I hope that they are not bailed out at the expense of anyone else.
  17. Maybe Dale should have represented the Dunn's from the beginning rather than the lay person they chose?
  18. I see Oaks day at Trentham was up a couple of $100k on last year. Surprising!
  19. So has anyone established where the coffee came from?
