Actually if you were going to have a dig at a horse why not Rondinella? Hasn't won in 89 weeks! Although you could say it has been unlucky this time in. If it doesn't win this race coming up then maybe it should be heading to the broodmare barn.

I think you will find Donna Logan left DanzDanzDance early 2018. You'll also find that she has had 4 races this season so hardly flogged. I don't think she has been well placed this season at all. Once the rain came today and carrying 61kg and giving weight to some useful mares she was always up against that. She did run home OK though. Remember 5 starts ago she ran 3rd in the Coolmore which was won by Con Te Patiro and FUNSTAR! Overall a very strong Coolmore. Perhaps the big stable hasn't helped. Being a 6 yr old mare the hormones sometimes kick in and they just go off. They'll either get her served (if she hasn't been already) or press on.

Guess where the flat tire occurred and Herlihy only got a caution? I guess we are back to judicial inconsistency! I guess you have to be Colin De Fillipi to get put out.

I found the presentation of NZ races a bit lame. I'm over Tony Lee's descriptions when the horses are in the parade ring - cliche after cliche after cliche! Also the irritation bit was the comments from Emily Bosson in the studio leading up to and after a race were all unnecessary. Which was amplified when commenting after a Australian race. Oh the winner of that race is by our own Waikato Stud stallion blah blah or that horse has NZ ownership and raced in NZ before....blah blah.... Do you actually need someone in the Studio? Aren't all the OZ commentators oncourse? What we have now is the pseudo studio set up at Te Rapa and the chosen few get to nip in there to be the anchor. Work less than 8 hours and hand over to someone who is as green as. As I say I turn the volume off NZ Trackside until race starts and listen to the Sky Radio commentators for the lead ups to the OZ races. Yes the racing at Ellerslie and Hastings was as good as it gets in NZ but can we change the presentation formula? Is it any wonder that our best and brightest in the commentator jobs are now overseas.

There has been a bit of discussion on this forum about TAB NZ betting restrictions. Wouldn't that be a punchy segment to the show to have a restricted punter and a rep from the TAB why it happens. I wasn't meaning Guerin either as the restricted punter but perhaps he should declare if he is or isn't restricted?

Will we see some investigative like journalism into why Melody Belle isn't still racing in OZ? It was clear reading between the lines that Jamie Richards was happy for her to stay - "she wasn't racing all that bad but the owners decided to bring her back." Followed by Fortuna Galvin saying we brought her back so her band of owners could watch her race. How many were at Hastings I wonder? There'll be no punch to the programme. Nothing to get a reaction and encourage people to watch. Just a pseudo advertising and marketing programme with sugary "oh what a great weekend of racing it was here in NZ." To be honest I found the racing in NZ an irritating distraction from the impressive programme of racing from Caulfield and Randwick.

OK just found the Oamaru video. Yes there should have been a Recall for that race. Lachie called it. The fact that the starter didn't call one then there should have been late scratchings because there were horses impeded from a fair start. Last nights determination was correct. Oamaru's wasn't. Who was the starter for that race? I believe last nights decision was fair and correct.

OK I'll give you that one. But in my opinion at least Navara's start was impeded. Arguably Prince Teka as well whose driver was dislodged by another horse.

In actual fact the rule used was Rule 213 (1) (j) - Denied a fair start. (j) if a horse was denied a fair start and such occurrence materially prejudiced the chances of that horse.

As far as I know there is NOTHING in the rules of harness racing that say the Stipes COULDN'T declare them late scratchings. Just as there is NOTHING in the rules that state under what circumstances you CAN declare them a late scratching.

WHAT RULES? SHOW ME THE RULES? Are you saying that the driver that grabbed the horse in front of it should have just blasted on past? He chose not to and distinguished his horses chances. He did it for safety reasons. Were the punters that bet on that horse hard done by? YES. I think it was a fair decision. Your race example bears no comparison!
