  1. The goal has been to have all G1 races on premier tracks. Hence the shift of this race and also the NZ Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes.
  2. NORTHERN: Jonathon Richardson (Trainer: Samantha Logan) CENTRAL: Joanne Pearson (Trainer: Lisa Latta) SOUTHERN: Lexi Porteous (Trainer: Andrew Carston) The Northern winner has made me sit up and take note. Stablehand to Sam Logan who doesn't train many and her team only had a total of 40 starts for the season for 1 win. Interesting.
  3. This person needs to be kicked out of the industry and never be allowed anywhere near animals. Cambridge trainer charged with ‘inflicting undue suffering on a horse’ | Waikato Times
  4. Kennedy average stakes return per ride $7087.10 Opie $12075.06 And that is not even counting the Aussie rides.
  5. As far as I can see there are only 2 realistic chances, Kennedy and Bosson. McNab, Doyle, Grylls and Spratt will get bugger all votes between them. I would vote for Opie He rode his 2000th NZ winner during the season and won 5 G1 races in Australia along with 12 stakes races here including 3 G1s. Strike rate of 3.92 also.
  6. Correct. One is for the winning the premiership which is automatic ie it is decided already and the other is by panel vote.
  7. The Cossack R75 2200m at Hastings last year.
  8. Lisa Allpress interviewed on SENZ a short time ago. She rode on a gallop on the New Plymouth track this morning and said she was happy with the track and the wrong call has been made in abandoning.
  9. Punter Of The Year is usually Livamol Day at Hastings.
  10. So are a few after the last every race day.
  11. That should read 7 or 8 male finalists.
  12. So the finalists have been named 29 of them. Looking at the names it appears that there are only 7 or 8 males nominated which illustrates the point I have made earlier that women are able to compete on equal footing in this industry It also further illustrates why the need for a special codescending sexist National Women of The Year Award which leaves out the males, rather than having an overall National Winner with everyone eligible.
  13. Looks like Eddie Lamb on the inside. The grey horse for Murray Baker I think wins the race.
  14. Trained by Leonard Stewart who turns 92 this month.
  15. I couldn't be bothered to scroll through old results to look. As I mentioned it has been done a few times in NZ. Today with Moodley riding 5 winners it brought to mind Hazel Schofer winning 6 at Hawera on 8 August 2020. 12 races that day and the female riders rode the card. Whilst Hazel and Sharrock who trained 6 winners got a mention there was nothing said about all 12 races being won by females. As I said it doesn't rate a mention hence without scrolling through old results you will find nothing. It's old hat.
  16. This is UK based study not New Zealand based and has no relevance to what happens here. We are talking about a NZ Award. Still waiting for you to provide evidence that women aren't able to compete on equal footing in NZ in this industry.
  17. You keep giving me opinions and feelings and counter your case re the wagering aspect two posts ago by showing women riders are not inferior. This is 2024 not 1974 and you haven'y yet provided any concrete evidence where women can't compete on an equal footing in this industry.
  18. What bigotry? I stated "Men and women compete at every level in this industry as equals with equal opportunity and I applaud that that happens." There is no bigotry there. People's comments or thoughts on BOYA have no relevance to what actually happens in the industry. Give me an actual example of where women can't compete equally in this industry and are therefore inferior hence this condescending Award.
  19. Were you pissed when you read my post Chief? How did you fathom that I would feel threated by anything. I merely pointed out a sexist award in a non sexiest industry. Men and women compete at every level in this industry as equals with equal opportunity and I applaud that that happens. Therefore I question the need to have National Racing Women Of The Year Award which is based solely on sex. It implys that somehow women are not as good as the men in the industry and they need separate recognition when that is clearly untrue. jamie Kah only said a couple of days ago and I quote "It is not a good female jockey or a good male jockey - its' if they are good jockey and they ride well put them on. There is no sexist people in this industry any more." Perhaps you would point out to us where women can't compete equally in this industry and are therefore inferior hence this condescending Award.
  20. Why is there a category for National Racing Women of the Year? I thought men and women were equals in NZ Racing and compete on equal footing. eg: there is only one Premiership for riders, one for trainers etc so why is there a sexist distinction for one these Entain Awards?
  21. As I mentioned I believe it has been done a few times in NZ which isn't any surprise and of course doesn't even rate a mention here. Just with regard to Morphetville last Saturday I am not surprised that the female riders rode the card either. Just for some perspective 100 horses started with 58 of them ridden by the girls and 42 by the boys. 9 of the 6 winners were favourites. In this day and age why are we even comparing the male and female riders. They compete on equal footing as far as I am concerned and we should treat them equally as jockeys rather than comparing them by sex. Have you noticed there are more and more female riders coming though and the rarity could soon be having the card won by male riders.
  22. Pretty sure it has been done a few times in NZ. Has been done in Australia previously also Toowoomba 23 October 2021.
  23. Hardly an unusual occurrence these days. I note they didn't mention all the races were won by the boys at Flemington the same day.
