Oatham was promoted above his credentials. He afaik is a reliable old boy sycophant. I still recall the mayhem at his first gig in charge at Avondale.It was a free for all.

Would rate Brent Thompson and Jimmy Cassidy ahead of Walker. Not surprising there are family connections in racing. The Skeltons were a force.I think the 'pumper' must have learned,watching 'bustlin Billy'...he could lift a horse that..man.

'Chittick, Acklin, Anderton, Pike, Ellis, O'Sullivan even, dare I say it, my brother. ' These people have had influence for years.They are not the answer. Too many on cushy sinecures.Drain the old boys ..swamp. The NZ 'product' cannot compete with overseas racing. Maybe the new Auckland mayor can cast his 'fix it' eye over the industry and slash costs. NZ Racing is a slow motion..car crash.

Fantastic racehorse.Had some great battles with a Kiwi horse Triton. As for Greys-the 'Washdyke wonder', Grey Way was a champ. Try the Easter he won...never see a better field.

A common business practice afaik-vet needed to look at your horse costs x-standard fee....vet attends to 6 other horses in the stable ,same day...owners still charged x.
