  1. Have they got crowds at meetings these days, are state borders still restricted,I'm not up with all the goings on there.
  2. Wouldn't say its booming but many clubs do have their big days, today its Wellingtons turn it seems as I cant comment coz I've only just turned the tv on.
  3. I watched that race, some good horses in that race but since that race what a load of shit on trackside. Maybe just a wee bit more of our own product would be an improvement.
  4. Canterbury recently have had very small fields so what do you think with the AWT automatically all the southern trainers will flock to Christchurch if it's the only place to race,I seriously doubt it,I've been looking at results from 15 or 20 years ago,gee the calandar in the South has changed a fair bit but one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that Oamaru and Washdyke are key winter race venue,if that's lost then the administration that make these decisions should not be in the job. Cambridge are racing Wednesday meetings in the coming winter,I'm sure Tauranga,Rotorua,Te Rapa,Te Aroha will still be racing despite new track, maybe just not beating the crap out of them in winter months by having a few less days. Getting back to the southern area I see the guy in charge of Wingatui in a article in ODT recently said they would welcome the trotting club racing on its grass track, not sure if that was including weekly winter meetings, it gets a wee bit wet there in winter.
  5. Actually in those days that (Waikouiti)was a perfect central locality, seemed to be a lot of good young races in Southland, seem to be rather scarce these days.
  6. Looking at some stats,56winners,last season was 2005,I love looking at history but I can't think of that horse though, Would I be correct that Paul Kerr was there when he had Cadillac Jack?
  7. I know Mr Alcock did have a horse or two that did quite well but I can't think of it,is he still alive?
  8. Must be something in the Waikouiti water,it produces small miracles.🤠
  9. Just see spitfire got third, people here very slow to comment or maybe all working.we all have to ya know.
  10. No need to be,its only mismanagement that will be the sole cause of such situations.
  11. Its actually 60years since Forbury started racing at night,I'm sure the scenes then are a big contrast to the meeting starting now.
  12. One hopes that dirt if its left in a heap gets well watered or it it will disappear in the wind like a melting snowman.
  13. Maybe that says something about the odds they set.
  14. Some very average meetings these days, the clubs had a good xmas, new year but now it's back to same old day in day out,sad but true.
  15. Very small nominations for Riccarton saturday, the southern meetings are going better than Canterbury at present, numbers have been poor since cup week, what's going on?
  16. Forbury have 8 races tomorrow, invers follows Saturday,I nomination for 2yo race,3 for 3yo race, all very fine running heaps of races but you have to have the numbers
  17. No one knows anything,it seems.
  18. And just to add when did this horse do a satisfactory trial to get back on track?
  19. With the extreme heat around spitfire may not run,a potential fire danger😁
  20. That's a fair few bonus bets I'd say.
  21. Seems the punters club yesty didn't win so all is good with the TAB,they lose too sometimes but as they say the house always wins in the end.
  22. Ain't got Winston to help now as well lol,
  23. I read somewhere the TAB got a hammering then I read the punters club lost, can anyone put me straight on which one is right?
  24. One down,one to go
  25. Might go watch first from Gore,I reckon the Andertons might just run 1 and 2.
