  1. Gee complaining about rain in Oamaru in February, don't,having said that seems when Waikouiti race it seems to attract rain, remember 2 or 3 years back ? I think North Otago are hosting a Hawke cup Cricket match too, I see their star players been called up for the Otago team, could the rain be a secret weapon or is it all over already, does anybody know?
  2. Sorry but I've basically repeated a post two or three post above, such is life.
  3. According to the report they state that no new complex and not sure if Wingatui is probable either which means boom, suggesting moving all the dates to Wyndham, not sure if they would want all that racing so so much to consider, very difficult and changing times
  4. Found it and read it,seems if Forbury shuts not keen for anything else, shift those dates to Wyndham,in all reality would they want all the racing, gee changes in thoughts aye
  5. Just to clarify that comment ,I'm not saying invers people are losers but the struggles of the rugby team mean the stadiums tends to become a underused facility, people want winners, crowds of 20000 use to go to touring matches, now a thing of the past, few turn up
  6. Davis what have you heard that I haven't?
  7. Talking about stadiums that Rugby ground in Invercargill is becoming a liability, yet Nelson once a back block now has a Stadium up to test standard probably brought about by the success of Tasman in the NPC so if you have sporting teams that succeed you have some positives, and losers like invers it's all negative. But the rugby guys do piggy back off the councils in many ways but they do need each other really.
  8. What a mess the whole lot of it though,
  9. Getting back to the Wyndham situation, for a while there were no race dates,no workouts and no trials, seems somewhere there has been a change of heart, trials today, races 31 march, seems it's not gone yet, probably won't be either.
  10. I think most stadiums are a bit of a drain and yes the rugby union never seem to front up with some cash to build, they only turn up to cash in,it still doesn't change the fact though that the stadium is still a great complex, and the original comment was regarding the negative old farts on council who don't want anything positive done
  11. I read in ODT before Winton gallops will race in Gore, well that's a great vote of no confidence for Ascot aye
  12. I actually think the track they have is not too bad, same size as Auckland it's just that Forbury go the right way around
  13. You say that and yes Dunedin being what it is does have a lot of negative fuckers but despite negativity they went from Carisbrook to the edge of the harbour stadium, seems to have turned out ok in the end
  14. I would suspect Wingatui, but who knows,Forbury was the first time I went to the races1975 Festival ,night 2,that's where I got the bug but at the time the spectacle was colourful and exciting, and the crowds who turned up were impressive too, times change, just trying to think of some of the horses and races that were .
  15. Gee the changes mooted keep changing aye, maybe it might makes sense Wyndham racing, all the money the Invercargill club give to the racing club might be better kept for the harness code,I think each need each other though. As for what would happen if Forbury go,winter racing was all Ascot Park last winter, something will happen I guess. Racing will continue in Dunedin in some form as well, probably at Wingatui,,I think so many factors stumped Forbury,if they go to Wingatui the number of meetings they have may be less relevant as the course i is not their sole responsibility. Cant really see Ascot going but who knows, everybody seems to have a new idea. With all the talk of change what are they going to do with the biggest sliding venue,Alexandra Park?
  16. Forbury were stuffed when the class horses stopped going there, however being situated where it is is a challenge as well, something will happen that is positive I guess. I think as long as the club is happy for change then bring it on.
  17. Spitfire in the field,race 2 at Waikouiti Sunday,drawn 15,should be a dawdle,(maybe not)
  18. They might if there is nought to keep them down,it's too early in the season perhaps for some major 2yo races, even the Kindergarten stakes has become a lesser event in recent times, lots of money in stakes for just a few starters, wait till the jumpers in the gallops start up, probably be worse.
  19. Getting back to my thoughts on dual meetings,I didn't realise Manawatu race again on Tuesday, once again a gallop meeting at Hastings on Sunday, only 8 races, another opportunity to take harness to the provinces,to run 5 races on its own the CD area doesn't need to die, sure House has sent a good number north but surely 3 or 4 races even without don't seem to be that bigger problem, why are the powers that be so keen to kill it off?
  20. Maybe they were sent to only one person but maybe everyone person has had the same thing, nought for me though, maybe they have just giving up on me.
  21. Many of the big punters must bet on sporting events, after all it's one or the other and yet when the TAB release their events with the most bet none show up,maybe they dont release such results or maybe just maybe the large punters are restricted for such bets, head to head.
  22. When Serina William's gets beat.it dont matter if you dont back a winner at Cambridge.Auckland or Addington,Williams is still one short
  23. O'Connell has his team of 4 at Winton this Sunday,he certainly gets around and probably more than likely something will pay a divvy, won't be long and he will be back driving too I guess.
  24. Here is a observation regarding dual code meetings,Wanganui gallops friday, why not some harness races as well, with Manawatu tomorrow would not be too hard to get enough for 4 or 5 races, all these grass tracks should have a few trot races.better to promote it not demote. These mini meetings at Palmy could easily be tied to a gallop meeting somewhere.
  25. To be honest they could just about man a border permanently for Auckland, only time allowed out or in is for racing and professional sport, leave it on it's own otherwise,a bit like North Korea.
