  1. They are going to race in July next year at Wyndham, racing in July unheard of until last year, but I notice a couple of gaps in June ,those weeks Forbury raced not taken up by other clubs so effectively a few less meetings next season in the south, getting back to the calandar in recent years all the early meetings ,August,September have been weekend affairs, now not the case, that's where I think Canterbury getting preference, once the grass tracks start and daylight saving starts then Sunday's for Canterbury and midweek Southland seems a better fit, that's my opinion anyway for what it's worth if it's worth anything.
  2. are you able to split the bonus bet?
  3. you can have ya devices and your apps but simple radio is still a big part of our lives, personally i prefer radio to tv. Radio trackside is gone but something good will come out of this new venture.
  4. I'm not so sure if harness racing is going as well as they say it is,sure the sunday meetings seem popular and the holidays meetings too but there are some barely average days as well,a lot of those southern meetings on wednesdays and thursdays probably ain't reaching great heights,Cambridge and Auckland sometimes poor performers too, judging by figures posted on harnessed website. I've said before and I will say it again there is a bias towards Canterbury in the dates distribution,in august Southland have wednesdays and thursday, not flash days really yet Canterbury get sundays,no one can doubt the success of the grass meetings later on but early on shift those low key Canterbury meetings to Tuesdays or Wednesday and give Southland a fairer chunk of the action.
  5. Has anybody factored in that covid meant by April 11 last year nearly 3 weeks of racing was lost?
  6. Timaru do have a grievance, they want 6 meetings but will now have only 3,I think there are some anomalies with their scheduling for next winter,Oamaru race Thursday june23.2days later Riccarton race on grass, yet nothing on the Sunday before, what Timaru really need is a Feature meeting on one of those spring saturdays,in spring,it will bolster their finances and take the pressure off Riccarton, does that make sense. All weather track or not if it don't impinge on others then fine,if they wanted the same scenario in the north then with a all weather track in Cambridge does that make Ruakaka surplus to requirement,a big number racing today come from the Waikato, would reduce a lot of travel but there is a reason they race every fortnight in winter and spring.can anyone work out why? Same thing for Washdyke reallycommon sense.
  7. Sometime the galloping clubs don't like harness racing on the grass yet Forbury Park and Otago racing club wanted 6 days but only got 2 maybe they may get a all weather track and get a few more days in the future, they will have plenty of funds once they sell out, getting back to the grass track, yep they seem popular than ever,it just adds some variety.
  8. No amateur race, probably couldn't find any riders ,not many racing at all actually at Riverton,8 race meetings are almost the norm.
  9. Some advice, if you have had a good day, take the money and run, they are few and far between.
  10. Just to clarify things davis I have a dabble now and then, once it bums out and most of the time that's what happens I just pull the pin,I get bonus bets after a week or two but why you get 70 bucks, would be nice to know why or how. I too always leave a few cents in my account just to keep the account active so I can watch races or any sport that's worth watching.
  11. My account seems to always be under a dollar.
  12. 3 things I reckon about the AWT,one it does seem a lot of money for 7 or 8 industry meetings. It contradicts the centralisation theory, as Timaru is actually central ,perfectly central between north and south. And it doesn't actually take any pressure off the present Riccarton track, which probably needs a bit of a spell. It was interesting reading about Wingatui wanting 6 meetings of harness but only getting two, they being the experts were concerned about the damage to the track, yet they start the season off by having 3 days in August at Riccarton at probably the poorest time of the year,
  13. Riccarton not doing any renovations, maybe what would help would be to can the three days in August where the track probably gets the shit beaten out of it,maybe the first Saturday shift to can you guess?.............Timaru and Riccarton race the big day the following weekend,as jumping is basically gone, maybe the washdyke meeting could even be a feature meeting to kick off the season or is that too much of a good idea?
  14. Methven in september is the first meeting on grass, personally in some ways I think there is a bias, hopefully that's the right word towards Canterbury in the whole calandar, maybe a even spread of sunday meetings for Southland and Canterbury would seem fairer. Wyndhams gunna be busy.
  15. The tab are having nothing to do with senz but they have granted the rights to broadcast the races to them, what have they got to lose?
  16. Why are the displayed in such a arsehole format?
  17. I read that Orari have 2 days, this time last year they were facing the demolition dozer. Gee checking out the dates for some strange reason is like opening Xmas presents lol,sad as it is but I don't get anything for Xmas anyway lol.
  18. Have just been looking through the ratings for radio from 2 years ago,and radio sport had a very low rating. There is a demand for sport radio and racing but it is limited,I suspect covidwas a convienient reason the suits who shutdown radio sport used but simply it didn't rate highly, latterly the only time I tuned in was for live commentary, cricket mainlyr. Zb still have some sport,an hour during the week and 3 hours Saturday and Sunday plus some live commentary.. In a small market like nz is there probably is only room for one setup on radio,Senz is supposed .to be starting up some time this year, hopefully if run right it caters for everyone's sporting interest, that includes racing.. Trackside just like radio sport probably didn't make money,it's just plain economics. ,
  19. After posting a couple of comments on this subject I now have to come to the conclusion that I no longer give a fuck about the subject anyway lol.
  20. Keith Lawlor would have been a one horse trainer, thus deemed to be a amateur trainer, this is 1975 he won the cup,and he drove the horse himself, these amateur driving races as such they have now a relatively new as in being a betting race, I just can't see how they can't drive against the rest in standard races,a bit of a grey area to me.
  21. Keith Lawlor would have been a amateur trainer slash driver yet drove his horse and won the Cup,still drove against the pros.
  22. What is a amateur driver as such, or why don't they drive in normal races, do they get a drivers fee, what's the difference?
  23. They are not healthy but yep they are tasty, when it comes to food anything good for you usually taste like shit. I have to confess I've never eaten shit as such. Some of the stuff people eat looks more like animal fodder, some of that Chinese stuff looks like something the animals have spewed up,no wonder they get disease.
