  1. What do you consider a decent bet?
  2. Hayden Cullen, is he still training,no runners tonight.
  3. I think I read they have a petition to save their meeting next season, why, seems they are doing fine as it is.
  4. I know if I was betting on those races I'd be losing money lol strange as it may seem that's why I don't bet at present. Some of the harness meets have been pretty average lately but according to the men in the suits things are going well.
  5. The spitfire is a very odd animal though.
  6. I said there was something in the Waikouiti water,maybe I'm right🙂
  7. New Zealand is a very expensive place, the division between the haves and the have nots is growing bigger, sad but true.
  8. At a quick look the actual formlines are similar, that's what I noticed but hey if that's the criteria then so be it.
  9. Those 2 races at NP are very similar, why not the best race for the best stake and the rest for the lesser stake and maybe that race be penalty free,i floated this idea before for for some of those meetings down south, sometimes numbers blow out which in some ways is a good thing.
  10. I spose the ones that backed it would be happy 🙂
  11. Well you might say a snap reaction, but you need to be careful,it does spread like wildfire
  12. Talk about strange times I see Western Australia are going into lockdown,a day after I post this thread, what were the odds of that?
  13. Maybe he was protesting that racing can be dangerous. I dont think I've seen something like that before but always something different comes up now and then.
  14. All the tv coverage seems to be without much on course presence as in presenters, only a handful of meets in nz have presenters on course but the coverage is okish I guess, they do cost money all the trimmings.
  15. Have they got crowds at meetings these days, are state borders still restricted,I'm not up with all the goings on there.
  16. Wouldn't say its booming but many clubs do have their big days, today its Wellingtons turn it seems as I cant comment coz I've only just turned the tv on.
  17. I watched that race, some good horses in that race but since that race what a load of shit on trackside. Maybe just a wee bit more of our own product would be an improvement.
  18. Canterbury recently have had very small fields so what do you think with the AWT automatically all the southern trainers will flock to Christchurch if it's the only place to race,I seriously doubt it,I've been looking at results from 15 or 20 years ago,gee the calandar in the South has changed a fair bit but one thing that hasn't changed is the fact that Oamaru and Washdyke are key winter race venue,if that's lost then the administration that make these decisions should not be in the job. Cambridge are racing Wednesday meetings in the coming winter,I'm sure Tauranga,Rotorua,Te Rapa,Te Aroha will still be racing despite new track, maybe just not beating the crap out of them in winter months by having a few less days. Getting back to the southern area I see the guy in charge of Wingatui in a article in ODT recently said they would welcome the trotting club racing on its grass track, not sure if that was including weekly winter meetings, it gets a wee bit wet there in winter.
  19. Actually in those days that (Waikouiti)was a perfect central locality, seemed to be a lot of good young races in Southland, seem to be rather scarce these days.
  20. Looking at some stats,56winners,last season was 2005,I love looking at history but I can't think of that horse though, Would I be correct that Paul Kerr was there when he had Cadillac Jack?
  21. I know Mr Alcock did have a horse or two that did quite well but I can't think of it,is he still alive?
  22. Must be something in the Waikouiti water,it produces small miracles.🤠
  23. Just see spitfire got third, people here very slow to comment or maybe all working.we all have to ya know.
  24. No need to be,its only mismanagement that will be the sole cause of such situations.
  25. Its actually 60years since Forbury started racing at night,I'm sure the scenes then are a big contrast to the meeting starting now.
