  1. On the odd time in the past the horse I followed has gone round the right way at Auckland lol
  2. I will add,I've done a couple of hours in front of tv.im done for the day, once I leave the house I just focus on something else,no radio so I dont bother, just check results now and then.
  3. I saw that add, well I do believe in patronizing our own but as long as the playing field is even
  4. Gee one can spend a lot of time here but I started posting about the time they made those big changes and it's just gone on from there, some of my observations are that there is still plenty of life left but here is some of my observations ideas Watching trackside at the moment, coverage of the 3 local meetings is ok but no on course presenters is a step back but they all cost to run these services.Once the NZ content is over hardly worth watching but then they are only showing what's being sent down the line. Those who are working on trackside are doing more hours, lucky to have a job I guess, but working from a studio cant be such a thrill No radio is a turn off,the rova app simulcast is shabby, they need a decent coverage on days like today during our racedays, cut out all the meaningless crap,I see a aussie company is trying to buy the trackside frequencys so maybe something will happen sometime, trackside radio dont need to be 24 and 7,just when necessary. Many must miss it when going about their daily lives. Even though racings not running crash hot, numbers are pretty darn good but there are some racedays like one today that should be under review, probably a bit of overkill, sometimes maybe dual code meetings, one tomorrow that might go ok. Gee I could sit here all day but it's interesting sharing comments about issues,8 months after starting here though where has that time gone,Happy new year everyone.
  5. I know they wont,I watched the doco trackside did on Chris Johnson, showed him coming back to scale on some horse he was riding at Wingatui in the nineties, lots leaning on the fence, same meeting last year,no one
  6. Wingatui on boxing day got a crowd around 1000 people,Waikouit use to get 3 or 4 thousand, will those 3 or 4 thousand turn up at Wingatui in a fortnight?
  7. It is a well known fact that Westport is the number 2 meeting in nz on boxing day
  8. Just going back to the first post,Westport doing 220000 on course be fair to say a lot of the public probably are once a year race goers so no account with TAB likely so just bet on course, many bet on website so in many cases hard to get a accurate gauge on things sometime.
  9. I wonder if they que up at the house of I'll repute lol
  10. But being stuck in congestion is how Aucklanders live their lives, stuck in a que wainting for a piss, bet or even driving to and from work, makes one wonder why we ain't all living there.
  11. Harness racing in general in recent years have been running a lot of very average meetings as a rule,so if the standard at the top drops off not sure if that's such a good thing, however as in all races weather it be a maiden race in Manawatu or a big race at Addington someone's gotta win,so I guess from now on someone else will have their day in the sun.
  12. In reality Purdon winning all the time might have got a bit monotonous in some of the public's eye but just maybe Purdon got a bit bored with it too, done everything he could do so why not take a break
  13. A lot of the tracks are off limits anyway,I think in reality a lot of hot air will be blown around, probably fuck all changes more likely but in cases changes are needed, its been happening for a long time anyway,Tapanui,Westport,Rangiora,Nelson,Orari,Winton,Wyndham and recently Waikouiti,Hokitika and Banks Peninsula and Waterlea and Omakau ,one or two of those may have a case for resuming there is only so far you can reduce, will Timaru,Oamaru,Gore, etc etc go,I'm not so sure. Forgot to mention Waimate who should at least get their trotting day back.
  14. There is still plenty of life left in racing, look at all the southern trainers racing today, its the peak of summer and they all have a few going around, why, because they have a passion for what they are doing, and it will probably carry on as such, the thing that could make a big difference is if the suits shift all winter racing to Riccarton,I dont reckon they will completely but those east coast winter meetings keep the southerners going.
  15. Just like Mesara, wanted to shut Gore Oamaru and Timaru and keep Waikouiti open, strange thoughts indeed.
  16. Status quo not a option,I know that today's Riverton meeting despite the rain will do pretty well, will they close Riverton and race at Ascot Park, anyone that would make that sort of idea is a halfwit but they are thinking it could happen in a few years,if the status quo is not a option will some of those meetings in the CD that only have 6 or 7 races remain,if Riccarton get a AWT will that make the best galloping track at Washdyke redundant, sometimes change is good but also sometimes the status quo that's worked perfectly fine is still fine, incidentally I read a article from the ODT,a new guy back in charge of Wingatui saying they would welcome Forbury racing on their grass track, wonder if that's was just the odd day or every week in june and july included, gets a bit wet down south in winter
  17. Just watching a race from aussie,favourite 150m behind at mobile moving,from a punters perspective,should this happen?
  18. Not sure about that.
  19. I'm sure Dennis the Menace will be waiting for the call🙂
  20. I wonder how my tippings going,in all reality I'm more successful at tipping shit out of a wheelbarrow but sometimes strange things can happen.
  21. I remember on Hokanui Gold radio when Jamie Mackay was on it,Sargeant dan came on at 10 to 8 every morning with a lot of funny shit, one morning he was saying about the athletics he was in,the 4 ×100 relay,2 runners didn't turn up so the other 2 runners ran it on their own Dan ran the 2 and and fourth leg the other guy the 1st and 3rd,just picture that scenario That was funny shit in those days,Dan's old man who had been made redundant from the railways use to watch the rugby sitting out on the street outside selectrix watching it on their tv,funny times aye,all good bullshit.
  22. Like it or not in reality as they work the horses and know them inside out they must pretty well know the results before they leave home, maybe the odd hot pot getting trapped on the rail or something helps another, who would know, they have good horses but one wonders.
  23. Probably somewhere the All Stars drivers have got the results written down on a paper, just so they other members of team know which ones to back lol
  24. Race 1 Mountain Mass Race 2 Shezadeal Race 3 Beyond Words Race 4 Kelvins Luck Race 5Darling Me Race 6 Kango Race 7 Aladdin Race 8 Majestic Man Race 9 Copy That Race 10 Better Listen Done in a hurry but hopefully the picks are actually matched to the right race, good horse but fields rather small. And a tip for you Karrots,a good one for all the females is,a carrot a day keeps the cobwebs away😛
  25. Will have a go if its only one per race.
