You keep at least 50cents in your account, does that mean you ,like I lose and not win? I actually do better than you,I leave just one cent,if I'm taking a last bet I always leave a cent, so I can watch..........incidentally a lot of smartphones may not be up to streaming effectively,I find on mine the coverage is stop start, you might blame the website but it's probably other factors.

Been reading the story on Riverton in one of the papers, about 2000 turned up,now that's not probably as many as Waikouiti but similar but the fields were far superior, would have been washed out yesty by the way,but the fixture in 2 weeks should be a good one,sad though in some ways it's not at Waikouiti.

The coverage from aussie is a sawn down version in regards to screening races,it started during lockdown,we followed,in reality the coverage of both radio and tv was probably not sustainable in that format, after all radio sport closed up,and they probably had more audience ,advertising etc etc, something will happen I guess in a more sustainable form.

Gee the driest part of the country and boom this happens, traditionally it can get wet around new year so no surprise yet the tab site says track is easy, isn't this why they have all weather tracks?
-
Riverton had a heavy track I bet it wasn't a winter heavy track, anybody here on this site go there?
-
Strange as it is the Waikouiti Rodeo that was scheduled today to replace the races was washed out,Riverton was the place to be.😐

What I was really meaning to say in this thread,8 months, you can spend a heap of time here, its a form of social media, easy to escape the world for a time.
-
On the odd time in the past the horse I followed has gone round the right way at Auckland lol
-
I will add,I've done a couple of hours in front of tv.im done for the day, once I leave the house I just focus on something else,no radio so I dont bother, just check results now and then.

Gee one can spend a lot of time here but I started posting about the time they made those big changes and it's just gone on from there, some of my observations are that there is still plenty of life left but here is some of my observations ideas Watching trackside at the moment, coverage of the 3 local meetings is ok but no on course presenters is a step back but they all cost to run these services.Once the NZ content is over hardly worth watching but then they are only showing what's being sent down the line. Those who are working on trackside are doing more hours, lucky to have a job I guess, but working from a studio cant be such a thrill No radio is a turn off,the rova app simulcast is shabby, they need a decent coverage on days like today during our racedays, cut out all the meaningless crap,I see a aussie company is trying to buy the trackside frequencys so maybe something will happen sometime, trackside radio dont need to be 24 and 7,just when necessary. Many must miss it when going about their daily lives. Even though racings not running crash hot, numbers are pretty darn good but there are some racedays like one today that should be under review, probably a bit of overkill, sometimes maybe dual code meetings, one tomorrow that might go ok. Gee I could sit here all day but it's interesting sharing comments about issues,8 months after starting here though where has that time gone,Happy new year everyone.

I know they wont,I watched the doco trackside did on Chris Johnson, showed him coming back to scale on some horse he was riding at Wingatui in the nineties, lots leaning on the fence, same meeting last year,no one
-
Wingatui on boxing day got a crowd around 1000 people,Waikouit use to get 3 or 4 thousand, will those 3 or 4 thousand turn up at Wingatui in a fortnight?
-
It is a well known fact that Westport is the number 2 meeting in nz on boxing day
-
Just going back to the first post,Westport doing 220000 on course be fair to say a lot of the public probably are once a year race goers so no account with TAB likely so just bet on course, many bet on website so in many cases hard to get a accurate gauge on things sometime.
-
I wonder if they que up at the house of I'll repute lol
-
But being stuck in congestion is how Aucklanders live their lives, stuck in a que wainting for a piss, bet or even driving to and from work, makes one wonder why we ain't all living there.
-
Harness racing in general in recent years have been running a lot of very average meetings as a rule,so if the standard at the top drops off not sure if that's such a good thing, however as in all races weather it be a maiden race in Manawatu or a big race at Addington someone's gotta win,so I guess from now on someone else will have their day in the sun.
-
In reality Purdon winning all the time might have got a bit monotonous in some of the public's eye but just maybe Purdon got a bit bored with it too, done everything he could do so why not take a break
-
A lot of the tracks are off limits anyway,I think in reality a lot of hot air will be blown around, probably fuck all changes more likely but in cases changes are needed, its been happening for a long time anyway,Tapanui,Westport,Rangiora,Nelson,Orari,Winton,Wyndham and recently Waikouiti,Hokitika and Banks Peninsula and Waterlea and Omakau ,one or two of those may have a case for resuming there is only so far you can reduce, will Timaru,Oamaru,Gore, etc etc go,I'm not so sure. Forgot to mention Waimate who should at least get their trotting day back.
-
There is still plenty of life left in racing, look at all the southern trainers racing today, its the peak of summer and they all have a few going around, why, because they have a passion for what they are doing, and it will probably carry on as such, the thing that could make a big difference is if the suits shift all winter racing to Riccarton,I dont reckon they will completely but those east coast winter meetings keep the southerners going.
-
Just like Mesara, wanted to shut Gore Oamaru and Timaru and keep Waikouiti open, strange thoughts indeed.
