I haven't got too much of a problem with the late scratching. As you say the driver that grabbed the head of Prince Tuiteka saved a dangerous situation. The late scratching should have been Lamb, sack him.

I just looked at this replay Brodie. Yes, it happened just after the start but they had only gone a couple of strides. Sorry, but this is down to Lamb again. Why can't this wanker get the starts right? Look at the replay, the horses are not lined up properly as usual. The front five or six are bunched close together, Aaron Chief was on an angle, while there is a 3-4m gap to the other front liners out wider. Second row horses also not standing straight or on the tape. It was obvious that Aaron Chief was not ready, even Stevie Wonder could see that, but Lamb said "right". We seldom saw incidents like this when Jack Mulcay was the starter, now they are commonplace. The reason is Lamb. He has been in the job for years but has learnt zero and his starts are still a shambles. Sack him.😡

It was only beaten a chicken's lip mate, bit tough.

I backed it each way. Nice collect. 😁 Don't get me started on that woman....🙄

Not that keen about Addington tonight. There are some good races but I'll just watch. But.... I think I have found an omen bet. Race 1, Rollyourown (4), seems appropriate with tomorrow's cannabis referendum. I'll quinella it with Five Star General (6). 😆

I agree. And if the horse is required to trial once it is easy to get a clearance. All the trainer has to do is enter it in a weak trial field, say at the Mot or Geraldine. The horse usually does everything right in this situation, gains a clearance. Next time at the races deja vu. I don't understand how Madam Sass got a start at Oamaru ahead of Rachmaninov who is on the ballot but has far better form. Head scratcher that one?

Yes. Jones is trying to buy votes.

Star Galleria also out of Cup.

Omen bet this Friday HP?

Didn't need it mate... warmest winter on record!!! 😂 I spent mine at Addington!

And she is not held to account by the media.

Dear Leader is good at recycling. She is recycling all of the same promises as she did before the last election. Housing, give us another chance. Grocery prices, they were going to look at them after the last election she claimed, what happened. Homelessness, give us another chance it has only increased 370% in the past three years. Build 100,000 houses... we will do it this time. Property prices, we will bring them down, there were too many distractions during the term, volcano, terrorist, baby born, pandemic... a leader cannot do everything... blah, blah, blah. The sheep lap it up. She'll win again and there will be another three years of inaction. Let's keep moving...

Sonoma Tyron (R7) - The mare went huge at Addington last start after missing away. She is risky from a stand and the one draw might not help her. If she steps she can win. Buckskin (R8) - I will back the gelding for a place as not sure if it can win this race. Prince Teka (R11) - Forget his last start, he is not an Addington horse. Back on grass he can win this. All Stars should quinella the Cup, but it depends on Lamb. I hope this fellow doesn't ruin another start. Go the mighty ALL BLACKS!!

Yes, Gerard O'Reilly was confident a long way from home. The runner-up stuck on bravely though but the winner always had him covered.

Geez I'm losing it mate. I thought the rugby started at 2pm... 😅
-
Er... there could be many reasons why I couldn't watch the race. I am not playing but watching down at the local. I don't think I would be too popular if I asked them to change channels halfway through the rugby test to watch the Methven Cup. That would go down as well as a pint of warm Speights! 🤣
-
I think that will depend on our friend Mr Lamb. Will it be a fair, clean start or one of his shambles starts? Really, the Purdon/Rasmussen pair are lengths better than anything else in the field. If they get away well they should quinella the race. Spankem went well at Addington in his first start for months so he should improve. There could be some good place prices for the front-row runners. If a roughie gets an economical run it could surprise and pay a dividend at long odds. It will be an interesting race. Unfortunately, the rugby is on on Sunday too so I won't see the race.

I am not writing him off but it was a weak effort Friday as he had an easy run. Australia will be easier for him.
-
Brodie, perhaps Kerryann Morris is a better trainer than Andrew Stuart? Mr Stuart has a few to the races but his UDR is not impressive?
-
Not so sure. i think others will improve more than him, Paul Nairn's horse definitely will. The Leaf will be headed to Australian soon I reckon.
-
Yes, many of the horses are flat at the 800m or earlier and cause problems. You will need to be in the lead or close to it to win the Cup, further back in field and you will have traffic problems with horses stopping or breaking under pressure.
-
Yes, it depends on our esteemed starter Lamb. Last night, the start was Ok, all horses lined up walk up and off. On another night, or day, things could and probably will be different. He could say "right" while Self Assured is facing the wrong direction.

What a weak effort from favourite Leaf Stride. Disappointing run. Is this horse overrated?

Matt Purvis team is on fire.
