I think Tyke could win the first race. It was knocked over at Methven when travelling well. It is a weak field, as most are, so probably won't pay much.

My understanding it was only the two Hannon runners that had hoof problemo going by story now on website? I think the oringal story was badly written and it made sounded like all of the Purdon/Rasmusen stable had bad feet. The two that one last night looked to have no problem,s. 😊

I agree. I was also surprised that Down to the Bone was not relegated for galloping in the home straight. The horse went into a gallop around 100m from the post and it is questionable if it was pacing again by the time it hit the winners post. I think the connections of the fifth placed horse Laver wold be pissed off. Down to the Bone has done this before and yet I see nothing was said by the stipes. Surely a warning should have been issued?

Yes, the Cup will be run this year Brodie. The Cup occurs after the election which the Communist Ardern will win. Once back in power, I think you will find there will be a change in tactics on how Covid-19 is handled. But I could be wrong, perhaps Dear Leader will keep us in lockdown for her next term too. If that happens the Cup will probably go ahead but there will be no crowd allowed. That would be a financial disaster for NZMet Club. Winston is likely to be gone so who will be Racing Minister in the new government? Sweep stakes time. 😂

It could run a place given the draw? It is a weak field, no form. Bruce Negus trained Play By Ear only runner that has run a place recently. It's had to pick the winner in this race. Coin toss?

Having a well-known Dad in the game is a major plus I think and not something that "doesn't help much". Harness racing is dominated by a small group of families. If you are born into one of those families your path into the industry is assured. If you come from a non-racing background getting a foot in the game is difficult. Some like Tim Williams, Blair Orange and Regan Todd make it, but they are exceptions.

Agree, this is a good election to lose. NZ will be in dire circumstances in the next few months. Hundreds of thousands unemployed. Businesses gone under; the government doesn't really care about business so they won't care. I feel sorry for the scores that will lose their jobs, homes and dignity, many will never work again. I feel sorry for the university graduates who after years of study will find getting a job difficult. Many, if not most, will have voted Labour so I guess you could say they deserve what they get. But not so. Unfortunately, social media rules today. Ardern knows how to use it, most other politicians don't. People need to stop taking things that are spouted in the media and social media as truths and look deeper. Ignore the mindless slogans, Let's Do This, Be Kind, Team of Five Million,. Most accept every word as true. The likes of Brodie question and research, look at both sides, for and against, and call out the untruths they see. Unfortunately, he is a minority and few do this today.

They weren't meant to have done, Kiwibuild, end child poverty, end homelessness, build light rail from Auckland CBD to airport, none of these things have been done. Child poverty and homelessness have increased. But it doesn't matter another term is assured.
