  1. anyone found it?
  2. Yeahhh sure is a confidence thing that should be factored into your pricing. If you click on the runner, then gear and scroll to the right you should see the undie colour. Not sure how the stipes check the declaration is being complied with. They probably do it like they check for weight bags and just flip up the saddle cloth.
  3. Probably certain that industry structural change will be called for and is essential. That's a no brainer. What form do you think that might or should take Peter?
  4. I don't yet grasp how you can price one horse or a few horses without pricing the rest of the field. Surely you have to price to 100% market or similar. Something definitely doesn't add up and I'm still trying to figure out what that is.
  5. The remaining stand is being remodeled to provide the necessary facilities for racedays including jockey room upgrades, JCA and stipes rooms, toilets, food and drink service etc.
  6. It was the Manawatu Racing Act Trust Board that theoretically controlled the insurance proceeds. Long since sorted. Hence recent and current progress.
  7. Unlike you, we both punt to win.

  9. I heard Gai on the ladio about 6 weeks ago on this. Has she had more to say?
  10. My pick too RM. I probably would have gone for Monty who I'm guessing would have taken more of a psychological approach whereas whomever Mr Q is, is obviously using a more behavioural one which appears to be working. A very good decision by stewards I think which takes the pressure off the horse and handlers. It was never going to be an overnight fix. No doubt from that trial, the horse is in fine fettle and still loves to race.
  11. The committee HAS fallen into line with NZTR which designated the track be developed primarily as the best training and trial track it can be but at the same time can be brought up to standard for race meetings and that the club may then apply for 1 community race date and be available for other transferred meetings. There have been delays getting plans and consents for critical building work on the remaining stand but that will complete phase 1. I note that 28 heats went round yesterday on a H10 rated track with the open 1000s going in 1.03/4. The council has stuff all to do with it.
  12. If I thought it weren't ok to make a similar comment here, I wouldn't be here.
  13. I may be a bit thick but I don't see the connection Hesi. One is a critical comment about ongoing general issues, the other is a sensible attempt to get clear information about a specific incident.
  14. Don't quite get your point there Hesi. I read that comment as being in reference to the Foxton track, not Otaki. I'm pretty confident the controlling body there won't stuff that up, but given what's happened to most other tracks in the country in the last couple of decades, I would have thought that was fair comment?
  15. lol.... now Thommo, it's clearly your turn. Agree with Turny, put your bets up next Saturday BEFORE the racing and we can all see how your bizarre assessment methods work.
  16. Ban overturned.... https://www.racenet.com.au/news/bizarre-chautauqua-hearing--who-is-mr-q-20180828 After two hours of deliberation, stewards relented, ruling that Chautauqua would be permitted to return to competition under the following circumstances: 1. Chautauqua is not to barrier trial until after 22 September 2018, so as to allow sufficient time for a re-education process, having regard to the evidence of the behaviourist. 2. Chautauqua must barrier trial on two consecutive occasions to the satisfaction of the Stewards, before being permitted to race again. 3. Should Chautauqua not show improvement in commencing from the barriers as compared to its last barrier trial on 25 August 2018 and/or does not trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards again, the gelding’s nominations for all barrier trials and race meetings will be refused under AR50.
  17. The trust doesn't run the show. The club committee do and are doing a mighty fine job the last couple of years. I'm guessing by the end of the year, not even additional outhouses will be required if it becomes an option for raceday transfers. In the meantime, it's doing a great service as a training and trials venue.
  18. No bias at the Foxton trials today by the look.
  19. Agree. It'd be like getting rid of club rugby and just playing super and international. They are often good betting races too.
  20. Updated version: Following Chautauqua failing to jump from the barriers to the satisfaction of Racing NSW Stewards in a barrier trial at the Rosehill Gardens race meeting on Saturday, 25 August 2018, Racing NSW Stewards have advised the connections of Chautauqua that their preliminary decision is that, acting under the provisions of AR50, the nominations of the gelding should be refused for all barrier trials and race meetings. In order to provide the connections with due process, the Stewards have invited the connections to make any appropriate submissions as to why the Stewards’ preliminary decision should not be confirmed. Managing owner of Chautauqua, Mr Rupert Legh, has informed Stewards that the majority of shareholders in Chautauqua intend to make submissions in response to the Stewards’ preliminary decision. As such, Racing NSW Stewards shall hear those submissions at Racing NSW’s office (Level 11, 51 Druitt Street, Sydney) commencing at 1pm on Tuesday, 28 August 2018.
  21. This is from their initial submission on the Racing Amendment Act. Don't think we should be blaming BGP or Ladbrokes.
  22. Possible sad end for the champ's career in Oz. I note they've labelled it a preliminary decision. Be interesting to see the response and what happens now. Seems they've left the door open.
  23. Who do they actually bet with offshore that is not funding NZ racing anyway?
