The TAB has a much reduced turnover on the tote nowadays on races that the AllStars have runners in, so are not making as much as they would be!

Personally don’t think that Nat Rasmussen did anything wrong with the whip on Ultimate Sniper! Didnt seem to be hitting the horse hard at all and she was only tapping with the left hand! Nat has been a repeat offender when it comes to the excessive whip rule, so she obviously doesn’t give a toss about the rule, especially in the bigger stake races! Nat should not have been fined and/or suspended for trying to win a major stakes race , and what she did certainly wasn’t excessive! Change the rule Harness NZ as it is blatantly stupid having a no. involved!!!

What they do doesn’t affect me whatsoever, what does affect, is the problems that they are currently causing harness racing In Australasia! I don’t invest when there are AllStars horses involved as I know they are going to fill 2 of the placings! Why would anyone bother as it is a waste of time!

Just great punting races are these Premier nights, is there any damn wonder punters are just being turned off by it all? Just a formality in these group races when they fill the places by the no. Of horses they have in the race. Vergil Gallops and still runs second!!! And there are enthusiasts that think this domination is good for harness racing, when the fields are pathetically small just because other trainers know that have got eff all chance of winning! People just aren’t bothering to punt now apart from some pissed up people in the pubs that don’t give a rats! Is it really any wonder that our clubs are going broke and are relying on outside income to be able to continue to pay stake money?

To be fair Matthew Williamson, nice guy and all and a good driver is not really going to cut it with the best drivers in the world, we know that! The no. Of wins in a season is important but it does depend on the no. Of drives and the horses that the driver has had during the season! Yes, some people will say well deserved and others will have a different opinion! To win a world Drivers championship, you have to get on the right horses and drive them consistently well! It is unfortunate circumstances that we will not be sending our best driver, but it will give Matty an opportunity and hope that he drives with credibility and makes NZ proud!

Punters are turned off as well from the minute divs. at premier meetings! The big bets on the hot favourites that are being put on are a surefire way of losing! The average punter is not bothering on these days!
