To be fair she has not beaten anything that has been much good, and hasn’t had to to anything in both of her starts! Wouldnt think she would be worth anything like $200k at this stage as no big stakes races available for her!

If these charges are proven to be false then why should those charged have to foot the bill for false charges? HRNZ a and the RIU should’ve had this sorted before the police were brought in, that is why the HRNZ should foot the bill for those that are not guilty!!!!! So, If these men that have been charged are found not guilty, you believe that they should cop the cost of their defence, which is pretty prohibitive compared to what they earn and are likely to earn from racing? I have heard that legal bills are in excess of 100k which is a lot of money for some of the charged!

Ranga, they should not be carrying on the way they are over there! Most people have an opinion on the topic but it shouldn’t be discussed the way it is as it is just hearsay at the moment. The Sooner the damned cases are heard the better, although the lawyers wouldn’t be seeing it that way! If the charged are found not guilty, I believe that their legal costs need to be reimbursed to them by HRNZ!!!!

Launceston in Australia are racing tonight, and I happened to switch over from other channels and noticed each time that they are still racing despite the fog totalling covering the track and thick as Pea soup as they say! The fog is so much thicker than what Addington had a few weeks back when the races were called off!!!! Obviously the officialdom and drivers over in OZ have a differing opinion when it comes to how dangerous fog is to drive in bearing in mind the Launceston track is a lot tighter than Addington. Still believe that the abondonment of the second half of the program at Addington that night was totally not necessary!

Totally agree, Chief! There is no way Michael!house would be stupid enough to be answering those questions the way he is! He would be told to keep his mouth shut, and if I was him I would be keeping the lowest profile I possibly could! Yes I do believe that there is not going to be a helluva lot of benefit going to come out of the charges that have been made by the police against many horsemen for so-called race fixing. I have watched the races in question and I can not see anything worse than in many races that are run at most meetings. Mointain out of a molehill, and certainly costing harness horsemen bigtime with both reputation and financially.

I note that That’s Bettor is having his first start back in well over 2 years as last raced back in March 2017 Not that unusual a horse having a start after over 2 years you say? However, Thats Bettor is one month off being 12 years of age!!!!!! Thats Bettor is going to be having its 130th start and had been a reasonable horse a few years ago. Originally trained I believe by Brent Weaver and raced a lot at Palmy and Nelson and Blenheim circuits. Robbie Holmes has also trained him for many starts and now a Mr D McKenzie. Must be a bit of a story about why the horse has been brought back to racing and will be a good training effort for the horse to be competitive ! Does anyone know the story??

Totally agree Galah in regards to the 3 races and the 3 drives you mentioned. not sure what Johnny Morrison was doing on Smoke nReactor as he should’ve gone rather than just sat and get out in the last 100metres at best. The drive on her last Friday night was also very poor! All 3 horses you mentioned were driven by our better drivers, so yes very puzzling indeed.

Certainly the standard of the racing is inferior to the South Island Racing by a long way. With the good stake money up, you would wonder why so many just sit and don’t get Serious till far too late! That race 8 was a shocker, as if you haven’t moved before the home bend you have got next to no chance of winning. Yawn!

The improvement of both Johnny Morrison and Ben Hope both juniors has been big for me!

Just watched race 8 and as exciting as paint drying to watch! The 2 favourites The Moonshadow and The Bull Pen, Both just sat out the back and ran on but out of the money. The leader was given an easy time and nothing moved! If you backed the favourites you would be a bit peeved! Will The Stipes ask the questions that need asking? Maybe, but they will just get BS! No wonder there are a shortage of horses and owners up there!

As I say someone puts on $100 to win at $10 so collect $1000 and they have to show their stupid card to be able to collect their winnings. Someone betting $100 is hardly a money launderer! It is about control for the TAB not money laundering as the statement clearly says that they don’t think we are money laundering!!!!! The TAB are doing it to PROTECT US!!!!! Tonkatime, please tell us all what we as punters need protection from???? I can tell you now that the NZ TAB are a law unto themselves and give certain punters total unfair treatment which I won’t go into on here! Tonkatime, are you aware of how little many punters are now allowed to net on their accounts? Now they are going to be able to monitor a helluva lot more punters by way of amounts they are putting on and winning! If you bet Fixed Odds and you win a few times they will restrict your amount you can get on, because they have your details coming thru to them of the stupid punters card!!!! It just gives the TAB total control over who can bet, the amount wagered and how much you can win or not win! If you think that is a fair go then clearly you are delusional. The TAB wants to increase the turnover on racing, they have to be kidding?

Because you are using a punters card, they will know anyone who is putting on over $1000, and so they will be able to monitor everyone at agencies or oncourse and if that punter is winning, they will be restricting them, just like the already restricted punters. I can tell you that it is not much fun being treated like a damn crim trying to get a bet on! If you think it is to do with money laundering solely, you are seriously deluded! Why should someone that puts $100 on a horse to win Fixed at $10 have to present a stupid punters card to collect your winnings of $1000??????? Got very little to do with Money laundering at all! The TAB will now know who the. Punters are and will be able to link up any stable connection or ownership and just not allow the bets! You can joke or try and take the piss Ranga, but this will seriously affect turnover on racing to such a large degree it isn’t funny. The galloping punters will just bet overseas and won’t bother betting in Nz This will be just another nail in the coffin for racing in NZ. What it means is that every restricted punter in NZ that is restricted on their account will now be restricted to the same pathetically low amounts at agencies or at race meetings! This is just another load of BS that will drive punters away from horse racing! FFS $1000 dollar collect is absolutely nothing in this day and age and basically as I said you are effectively having to plead for your winnings when you are totally entitled to it! Unbelievable crap, and big brother BS at its worst. Does anyone here think that this is an acceptable practice? Do you Ranga?
