Firstly, why should,you have to produce ID for collecting $1k when you have had a bet in good faith. Havent got a problem if the TAB staff questions someone who they think could be money laundering, however a genuine punter like myself that TAB staff know, should not have produce ID and tell Big Brother what they are collecting or spending everytime!!!!! Nothing to hide at all, just don’t want to tell the TAB how much I am collecting or spending as it is hard enough to get money on already!!! Don’t think I am that stupid, not paranoid just don’t like the TABs business practice and many agree with me! Have too much money? Let’s just say I don’t need punting to live very comfortably, and I don’t launder money!

You what? May not affect you, but for the ones that it is does, there is a problem. Someone collects a $1000 trifecta on Cup day and they have to prove who they are, when they only bet once a year, and it is called money laundering? TABs don’t give cheque’s much at all from what I see, betting vouchers or into an account! it is the way of the world that you have to produce ID for legitimately collecting $1k or putting on $1k!!!!!!! If you think that putting $1k on the TAB or collecting $1k is money laundering then you seriously have a problem identifying what a lot of money is, in this day and age. If the TAB agency staff think there is a chance that a punter is laundering money then they should point this out to BIG BROTHER and get some ID! The fact that a punter is a bigger punter than someone else means that they need to identify themselves to the TAB and Big Brother every damned bet and collect is just downright BS! I am not going to play their total control game, and I don’t have to fortunately. I know it is going to backfire on the TAB and I hope the punters that remain with the TAB take them to the cleaners! When I hear that the TAB take bets from people for $10k and that is ok with them, and others get on eff all and now this, it is blatant BS. It will come back to bite them on the xxxxxxx

The TAB have stated that they are doing it to PROTECT US!! From what I ask you? The fact is that they state that it is to try and stop money laundering which is absolute BS! It is about control of the punter as $1000 collect is not damn money laundering. Watch as the bigger punters desert them!

So you believe that punters who put on the larger amounts are going to continue to punt when they have to produce a punters card everytime they collect or place a bet? Anyway I won’t as all they will do is restrict us to pathetic amounts when they are aware who the punters are? Absolute BS!!

Not robbing anything at all Ranga. TAB is a betting agency that should take the good with the bad for them! Anyway this new PUNTERS CARD is going to make it not worth many punters while, so watch the turnover drop, And never to return! Too true What you have said! Everyone knows that it is not a level playing field and there is absolutely no way that one stable can dominate the way it does for so long, without doing things differently or using something that gives them an advantage over all the others. To say that it is just to do with being more professional is just a load of bollocks! Harness Racing In NZ is haemorrhaging hugely at the moment for several reasons and will continue to do so while there is so much domination by one stable, and policies that the TAB are enforcing! Will be very interesting what actually happens in regards to the rules of this Blood Spinning.

Yes, the horse has been a pig from a stand many times especially down south. The horse was standing ok, and then a starters assistant came and grabbed hold of the horse basically the same time as the field was let go. The starters assistant didn’t appear to show any urgency to get Crusher Collins to go. Will be interesting the Stipes Report

Good on the TAB for paying out on the Warriors, but does seem pretty weird. There have been a helluva lot worse decisions made and injustices than the Warriors decision. Week in and week out there are bad decisions from referees that cost teams wins, so are they now going to start paying out on these as well? SAFE and SPCA are concerned about this Blood Spinning, and nothing been done to date! SAFE and SPCA were t worried about the whip in harness racing and HRNZ brings in ridiculous rule! Go figure? Only right thing to do is it to be banned! Still good vets around though!

The Blood Spinning rules are currently being reviewed by HRNZ and the update to the rules will be announced at the annual conference at the end of September. As we all know the AllStars stable currently use the practice and the company that owns the business and lab that actually does the process is also owned by the owners of the AllStars stable. Industry veteran David Phillips has written an 18000 word submission for the special review as part of the Messara Report! Mr Phillips slams the process saying it is cruel and should be banned! PETA and SPCA and SAFE also have concerns about the process and its affect on animal welfare! Will be very interesting to see what happens here, as we all know that it does improve a horses performance unquestionably. Yes some will come on and defend it, the Blue and Silver fan base, but we all know what is going on don’t we?

Defies logic running races over a mile if you want to attract people to the races. Yes it is good,to,have variety but as you say Auckland Harness does involve some pretty average drives quite often. Trainers are lining their horses up over the mile, and the drivers show very little urgency out of the gate, sit back and run home without making up any ground. Pointless, and unattractive for the punters I wouldve thought!

2 races at Auckland and 2 boring races! Leader won both times, nothing moves and Yawn!

1980m races at Addington are far better than a 1609m at Auckland. 1980 and 2600m are the only distances that can run on the next track in Australasia.. Auckland with the mile racing, if you aren’t handy, you generally got no show, as that home bend is a shocker!
