Talking of great horseflesh, I note that Tim Jellyman is lining up Little Miss in Race 4 at Addington on Friday night. 9 year old maiden who has had 47 starts, being driven by Johnny Morrison rather than Tim himself. Why on earth you would bother bringing this horse over from Westport to race at Addington is beyond belief really, as she has got a chance if she started now!

The betting agencies do what they want! You can take a Fixed Odds bet in good faith by what the TAB offer by way of odds! They can then cancel your bet if they don’t like it, without giving any reason for doing so. They don’t have to take your bet, and then when they have done so, they can cancel it prior to the event! And they wonder why punters get passed off with them! Yes, it has happened to Brodie several times!

Ranga, , being restricted may be foreign to you, due to your punting ability, however it is not uncommon to many, therefore it is common to many!!!! It is not a one off, many are totally restricted and others are now having their bets restricted to microscopic amounts out of the blue. They are either Bookies or they are not!

They are trying to, but it won’t work. The bigger punters will just not bother, they will go elsewhere with their money. Why bother when they continue to shaft you? The Owners If TAB agencies are also suffering big time due to punters not getting on what they want, and in the future there will be next to no TAB agencies outside of pubs around. TAB has lost the plot!

TheNZ TAB advertise on TV that they are worried about punters having a problem with gambling! How many punters that lose do they restrict? Alternatively, if punters were successful punters you would think they would be happy if they didn’t like having punters that couldn’t afford to lose! However, no they restrict them to next to nothing, so who is their customer base if they stop the winners and the losers? The truth is the NZ TAB love losing punters only and will have nothing to do with winning punters and don’t play FAIR! There are many cases where they have treated winning punters differently and unethically! As for saying that any business can have terms and conditions, it doesn’t damn well mean that your terms and conditions are legal? You could T & Cs that say that you won’t serve Australians but that wouldn’t be legal, or religion etc You should have no right to be able to not sell to someone just because they are better than someone else, as the NZ TAB is meant to be a gambling business, which tends to meant to have winners and losers, but no the NZ TAB only want losing punters!

How can Thaddeus be restricted as to what he can say? The TAB is a government agency isn’t it? We have all been told many times by this government that they were going to be transparent, so how can Thaddeus not answer the questions?

Rusty, ask him what act they are breaching. By treating their customers differently? If he says they aren’t breaching any act, ask him why they accept 10k bets and yet other punters can’t even get $50 on? By accepting 10k bets are they assisting some with money laundering? Ask him how many punters are now restricted to $150 and how many are harness punters and how many Gallops and dogs? Doubt he will answer them fully if at all!

So Ranga as you can see, $150 restrictions are common. How would Mr Thaddeus Taylor like it if his boss called him into his office and said that we are cutting your overpaid salary by 85%? Even in Oz I believe a law was passed that $1000 was the minimum restricted net collect that the betting agencies had to abide by. If they are accepting these 10k bets, those are the punters that Should be looked at for money laundering and to show flippen ID rather than punters who are collecting 1k by putting on $100.

Ranga, that is what Ppisses me off the most! The unfair treatment of some and the favourable treatment of others! Are these bets they state actually true or are they porkies???? If they are true then they are being taken from losing Bettors known to the TAB! I do see a helluva lot of bets supposedly taken by the TAB that are large, that are not worth the effort or risk, so I can see why the TAB take them! The new norm for restricted punters of $150 is just a blatant load of BS and the TAB are going to haemorrhage big time and racing is going to feel it! When an owner can only get to net $150 it is farcicAl and if someone comes on here and tells me that they are getting heaps on then I can guarantee you that they are known losing punters. This crap with the punters card that comes in 2 weeks is just going to drive more punters away, without doubt!!!!!!!!

Yes you will Ranga, This government wants total control over everyone. They have considered reducing the open road speed limit to 60k an hour or something like that! Brilliant, think how long it would take for people to get to race courses like Dunedin from ChCh!!!

Happy, believe it! It happens all the time, believe me! The $150 amount has been mentioned many times , but you can often get more closer to closing of the race! $150 is just pathetic in this day and age, and they want to increase turnover?????

Just read an article on HRNZ site written by Garrick Knight. One of the new owners of Never Mind who won first up for Trent Yesberg was restricted on his account to $88 @ $2.70 to collect $237 and so a net collect of $150! Thr owner states that he thought it was pretty stupid, which of course it is, as he is probably not previously a restricted punter going by that comment! Not sure how much the owner wanted to put on his horse, were the Bookies aware of the punter being the owner of the horse or is there now a TAB policy on accounts of only being able to net the pathetic amount of $150? If this is the TAB policy, then there is nothing more certain that more punters are just not going to bother with this BS! Are there punters out there still being able to net larger amounts on their accounts or is everyone finding the same thing?

Fair enough I suppose CP, at the end of the day they didn’t have to! The Thing is the betting agencies are trying to attract new punters by offering the money back on various options even if they don’t win, but the money back is only being pathetic amounts! Obviously it is to gain punters to the habit and to keep them gambling. However if that punter that they have attracted wins, they say bugger that, we will restrict or shut them down! They certainly don’t want to take the good with the bad and certainly don’t play fair!!!!!!
