  1. Wouldn’t think JJ is Greg! Why would he sign his name Greg, as Wouldn’t that be a silly thing to do? Personally think Greg is a knowledgeable and good presenter for harness racing! He will be hamstrung by both HRNZ and the TAB as to what he is able to say!
  2. Lance Armstrong!!!
  3. Greg, you have blinkers on. You are correct that harness racing has pressing problems, and one of the biggest is the domination of the AllStars stable. You are wrong in your statement in regards to@ remarkably clean record. Have you heard of Blue Magic?
  4. Jonny Longshot meant Jason Teaz.
  5. Could it also be due to the fact that the Bookies also are not accepting the amounts that the punters want in? Even when bets aren’t accepted by the punters, they slash the odds!! Go figure, they are a law unto themselves! No wonder the turnover is down and racing turnover will continue to decline with the way they are operating! The new betting platform is certainly no better than before and cost a packet!!
  6. What about the bloke that does some of the trials down south?
  7. Was plan B, to build luxury apartments on land they already owned? Seems totally unbelievable that you could possibly lose money! You do your homework and get an accurate price as to what it would cost to build the total no. Of apartments and retail. Then you add on a land value component and put on a sufficient markup so you make a great profit! How can you possibly lose money when they already owned the land???? Sorry, but there is something else having gone on here, apart from employing the CTV building engineer!!!
  8. We are 5 months out from a race, with a horse that hasn’t beaten any open class horses. Yes he is unbeaten but sat in the trail most of the way and only just got up by a nostril. What should he be at in Cup Odds? Nothing, blatantly silly to be backing anything 5 months out, unknown whether he will start over 3200m from a stand, against a stable that will have horses able to beat UMC.
  9. Totally agree, what he has done in a few months is fantastic. Great that there are horses from the south that can mix it with Canterbury horses. Still improvement in UMC but doubt he should be short for the NZ Cup!
  10. There has to be more to it? The Auckland Club already owned the land so no cost there! How do you therefore have a discrepancy of $70million? They could’ve just sold off that parcel of land and at least been in credit!!!! Unbelievable really!!!!!!
  11. Horse is still pretty green as seemed to switch off and on abit. All you can do is win, whether it a nose or lengths. I am not getting carried away with it as yet, as although Classic Brigade is much improved in the last couple of, starts, he is no champion.
  12. Was going to bring this up as well Happy! The Thing is there is a discrepancy of an amazing $70 million that’s right $70 million. Fancy having to sell other property to bail the club out partially! Must be the biggest Ballsup in racing ever, how on earth can you lose such an amount of money in Auckland real estate?
  13. The AllStars horses I am sure are subjected to heavy workouts, as well as the racing. Everyone involved in the industry are well aware that it is not what advantages the AS horses are given it is more what they aren’t given. You only need to look at their fillies and mares, for some reason they all look like stallions! The best thing about the racing at the moment is that they don’t seem to race this time of year!
  14. Wouldn’t think Mark McNamara would be leaving Canterbury anytime soon, as he gets to commentate on the best track by far at Addington. Doubt he would go back to Australia as there are far to many Ozzie’s over there! Unless his wife is in his ear????
  15. I would’ve thought that to be a bit odd? Is it being done at the one lab or different ones? If it is the one lab, then perhaps there needs to be a working group setup to look into this?
  16. Yay, has been sorted again! Someone must be reading on the best Harness Forum going! Thankyou HRNZ
  17. Who? frank Jarrett? The Brodster is only a young one! All commentators have a different style, but I believe that Canterbury has certainly had the best harness commentators for as long as I can remember. They have all been very consistent and accurate. Reon was very good for a long time, and Mark McNamara and Matt Cross are now both very good. Actually liked Darren Tyquin who unfortunately lost his life before Mark McNamara.
  18. Hope someone reads this at HRNZ and gets sorted, would be much appreciated!
  19. Whiteman, thanks for that, but it is fine to expand with the plus sign for results! When I press the plus under fields, it doesn’t do a thing! Fine on my iPhone ! Might come back but I beleive there is a fault with the site as it happened the other day as well and the. Came right and gone again
  20. Is anyone else having any problem with expanding the fields and therefore not being about to get videos or anything really! It has + and - up, and should only be the + sign. It is only on my iPad that the problem is, as my iPhone it is working fine! Had the same problem a couple of days ago, but came right but gone again!! Anyone know how to fix??? Thanking in anticipation.
  21. I backed Svelt, and watched race on my phone. Didnt realise he had been fined for doing nothing, blatant BS! Galah, you are so right, he was barely touching the horse, and Kelvin Franks is basically an amateur driver! BS rule needs to go and HRNZ need to admit that they stuffed up with this rule! They won’t even though they know they have!,,,
  22. Good days, when fields were full and not dominated by one stable!
  23. I wasn’t aware that Winx was a harness horse that raced in Nz?..
  24. Syndication is a great way to try and get new people into the harness racing game. I am sure people that have The smallest percentage ownership in a horse gets more enjoyment from winning a race, as do the ones that consistently plunder the stakes of our biggest stakes races! Syndicates pull people oncourse more than anything really and hopefully they bring their friends and families with them! Ownership of horses on your own has become only available to people who have money they can afford to lose, as a money making investment it is not viable!!
