Certainly the standard of the racing is inferior to the South Island Racing by a long way. With the good stake money up, you would wonder why so many just sit and don’t get Serious till far too late! That race 8 was a shocker, as if you haven’t moved before the home bend you have got next to no chance of winning. Yawn!

The improvement of both Johnny Morrison and Ben Hope both juniors has been big for me!

Just watched race 8 and as exciting as paint drying to watch! The 2 favourites The Moonshadow and The Bull Pen, Both just sat out the back and ran on but out of the money. The leader was given an easy time and nothing moved! If you backed the favourites you would be a bit peeved! Will The Stipes ask the questions that need asking? Maybe, but they will just get BS! No wonder there are a shortage of horses and owners up there!

As I say someone puts on $100 to win at $10 so collect $1000 and they have to show their stupid card to be able to collect their winnings. Someone betting $100 is hardly a money launderer! It is about control for the TAB not money laundering as the statement clearly says that they don’t think we are money laundering!!!!! The TAB are doing it to PROTECT US!!!!! Tonkatime, please tell us all what we as punters need protection from???? I can tell you now that the NZ TAB are a law unto themselves and give certain punters total unfair treatment which I won’t go into on here! The NZ TAB have a totally flawed business system and it continues to bleed. I have said it before, but I am fortunate that I don’t need to do it for the money, it is about the challenge! The truth of the matter is that if this punters card comes in so that Big Brother knows everything about many punters, I am just going to give it away, and leave racing to go further into the doldrums! Wont worry the TAB but it will when all the other punters get restricted by being controlled by the NZ TAB!

Tonkatime, are you aware of how little many punters are now allowed to net on their accounts? Now they are going to be able to monitor a helluva lot more punters by way of amounts they are putting on and winning! If you bet Fixed Odds and you win a few times they will restrict your amount you can get on, because they have your details coming thru to them of the stupid punters card!!!! It just gives the TAB total control over who can bet, the amount wagered and how much you can win or not win! If you think that is a fair go then clearly you are delusional. The TAB wants to increase the turnover on racing, they have to be kidding?

Because you are using a punters card, they will know anyone who is putting on over $1000, and so they will be able to monitor everyone at agencies or oncourse and if that punter is winning, they will be restricting them, just like the already restricted punters. I can tell you that it is not much fun being treated like a damn crim trying to get a bet on! If you think it is to do with money laundering solely, you are seriously deluded! Why should someone that puts $100 on a horse to win Fixed at $10 have to present a stupid punters card to collect your winnings of $1000??????? The statement says that it is not that they think we are money launderers, then why the hell are they introducing this pathetic card??? They are doing it supposedly to protect us! Got very little to do with Money laundering at all! The TAB will now know who the. Punters are and will be able to link up any stable connection or ownership and just not allow the bets! The Thing is the TAB is not running a gambling agency anymore where there are some winners and many losers! What we all should do to wake them up is go in and close all our accounts until they can see common sense, although doubt they will be able to see that!!

You can joke or try and take the piss Ranga, but this will seriously affect turnover on racing to such a large degree it isn’t funny. The galloping punters will just bet overseas and won’t bother betting in Nz This will be just another nail in the coffin for racing in NZ. What it means is that every restricted punter in NZ that is restricted on their account will now be restricted to the same pathetically low amounts at agencies or at race meetings! This is just another load of BS that will drive punters away from horse racing! FFS $1000 dollar collect is absolutely nothing in this day and age and basically as I said you are effectively having to plead for your winnings when you are totally entitled to it! As I said I have only just heard about it and I have got no idea about how it is going to work! Details are very sketchy at this stage and I know no details about how it is going to work Ranga! All I am damn well saying is that the NZ government or NZ TAB have no right whatsoever to know how much I am putting on a horse or how much I am collecting!! FFS a collect of $1000 is sending out alarm bells to the NZ Government??????? Best they get on and ensure that they run the country better than what they are currently doing rather than worry about people collecting $1000 in winnings from the TAB! Just Absolute BS!!!!!

Yes I believe it does! If young blokes are not coming thru then the industry is going backwards. You have to get the young ones coming thru as older ones will move on to grazing paddocks. I would doubt that most of the young junior girls that we currently have will continue in the industry to any great degree once they are out of their junior days. No money in it and they generally have a family

Interesting to note and a wee bit perturbing that the Juniors race at Forbury on Thursday night has a field of 11 runners and only 4 are male the other 7 are the other sex! Great that female drivers are getting opportunities but surely it is a bit of a worry that there seems to now be a shortage of junior male drivers coming through the system! The kid carts is possibly a big reason that there are now a lot more females working in harness stables and driving! Without the females in the junior ranks it would appear that many of the junior races in the S.I. May not run and we all know that there is a total shortage in the N.I. Interesting times ahead.

Government intervention apparently Happy. Dont know the details but it looks like it is coming in. This government doesn’t like people who do well for themselves. They try to take it off them and give to the ones that don’t deserve it.

Have heard tonight that within the next month every$1000 invested or over $1000 collect is going to be closely monitored! If your collect is over $1000 you are going to have to apply to receive your payout!!!! Dont know the full details maybe someone knows what the full storey is???I To do with so-called corruption and money laundering!
