Personally pleased that they are racing back at Addington again after the break! However, the 2 separate races for the 3 year old colts and fillies both only have for nominations for Friday night? The stakes are both $20k so worth winning. The 8 no s basically are coming out of the 4 top South Island stables, Kentuckiana, Diamond, Stonewall and AllStars! Unfortunately this is the future with the smaller guy not bring able to compete against the big boys! Sign of the times, which is not that flash for many!

Just shows doesn’t it Spatchcock? How the bigger stables can improve a horse and not show them up fully at trials there are heaps of horses that could be so much better if they were in better stables and had decent drivers aboard!

I back what I think is worth the effort Forbury, whether it has a male or female driver, I dont consider myself as Sexist! Think if you actually looked deeply at the performances of the female drivers you might change your mind? You would think that the females would struggle to handle the driving of harness horses due to in many cases their physical strength, however that doesnt seem to be the case! What I do know is that we need to keep attracting them into harness racing as I believe they are an asset that the industry can not afford to lose, cos without them things would be far worse off! Auckland Friday night is going head to head with Addington that is back! Stakes for the 10 races at Auckland is $159k but there is an average of only 7 horses across the 10 races at Auckland! This is going to be just another meeting that is going to be another meeting that is going to lose money and surely this needs to stop? To make it even worse they have persisted with a night of many 1609metre races, which is a borefest and wont entice wagering!

Without the girl junior drivers there would be a major shortage and industry would be in a worse state! Personally believe that our current crop of female drivers has never been so strong and are doing a great job.

Dont often applaud the TAB often, but I congratulate them immensely for now bringing out the harness fixed odds out so much earlier than they always used to! It is long overdue but very well done to them! Bringing them out earlier will ensure bigger turnover as it gives punter longer to offload! next thing is hopefully they will increase the restricted punters limits?

Personally liked the 2 year old racing decades ago when there were good numbers around! Would be good to have them again, but as it has been stated, having 5 horse fields is not going to do anything for attracting punting! We know that these fields are going to be dominated by Allstar, Stonewood and Diamond racing stables! The big problem is the fact that many meetings are now running at a loss and we know why this is! Personally think that without the punters there will be no bonuses needed!!!!!!

Michael, does it actually matter? The country was subjected to so much BS for 6 years and you are worried about nothing? Nothing wrong with healthy debate but lets try and make 2024 more a year of improvement for everything! Christ as a Country we have been decimated by the last bunch of incompetents so heres to a far more successful year surely?

To be fair, Bit Of A Yarn in my unbiased opinion has far more going for it than that other site, that the intelligent posters were banned from! There are still some posters that can post stuff worth debating but the site doesn’t have much grunt to it! BOAY is run very well and we are allowed to post what we like in the main! The other site tends to have some that like having luvfests with each other!

My biggest issue is the pathetic low limits that are put on certain punters! The TAB so seriously need to change policy if they want to increase turnover and retain their loyal punters before it is too late! They introduced a $2k win minimum for win bets ONLY??????????! Why isnt it $2k for TOP 2,3,4????? They say they want increased turnover, I will guarantee this will occur if they brought this in!

Na it doesn’t go close to be able to work for me! I personally dont wager on many races, concentrate on what I like rather than many races on a card! The TAB are a gambling agency that put the odds up and accept the money from some punters on a horse and yet they wont with others? They only want the good with the good and no winning punters! They have Bookies that set fixed odds and punters should not have to be blackmailed into having to bet tote just so they can have increased limits applied!

Geez Galah, no way on earth would I be considering ever investing 10k a week on the tote just so that I could win 5k on final fields! I reckon this would ensure the punter goes broke! You go putting big amounts on the tote nowadays and your divvie will be not worth the risk, due to pool size! I just want to know why why the TAB is using $1k limit for the AML when it reads as it should be $10k!
