  1. Exactly my point! Bookies not prepared to let Punters on for worthwhile amounts due to previous performance! I was under the impression that it is a gambling business and they should be taking the bad with the good? If they maintain their current stance, racing is in dire problems!
  2. Gamma, Sarah O’Reilly is a very good driver, Junior or not. However, I maintain Carter Dalgety is every bit as good and in my humble opinion better. You only have to look at the UDR’s where Carter wins at close to every fourth drive, which is amazing for a Junior. Great to have these driving champs, bjt as we both know it is not always the best driver that wins it at all. It just depends on the horses that you draw, and many champs have been won by not the best driver, but the class of the horses driven.
  3. You only have to look at most of the tote pools now, they are much reduced to what they used to be and that doesnt take into account of inflation. Yes punters are betting into the fixed odds, but the amounts being allowed on by the So called Bookies arent that big, as most of the bets announced on Trackside are not significant wagers at all. Questionable how harness is going to be able to grow, when punters are not allowed on for reasonable amounts, as the Bookies have got no appetite at all to take on the Punter! Havent bothered having an investment on Harness Racing for many weeks now as not worth my time with the TAB policies. I can afford not to have to offload on racing, however I do know that the TAB can not afford to continue to lose punters. Without attracting new punters then the racing is going to go backwards unfortunately!
  4. If they have 98% being losing punters then they should be prepared to let a minimal 2% be winners, surely. David Seymour when he is in power is going to have someone looking at all the BS policies and red tape crap and hopefully loosen up on the AML BS limit of $1k.
  5. So it is not about betting turnover at all? They need to be upfront with everyone and tell them they only want losing punters watching and betting on harness, otherwise if you are good at punting, dont bother!
  6. License holders are reliant on turnover from the wagering public! So prey tell me why we are on betting restrictions???
  7. If you havent been watching them on HRNZ webb site over recent times, they are a must to view. Greg O’Connor over the last few weeks has been posting a series of interviews with harness trainers and drivers. All of them are well worth viewing, the most recent ks with all of the O’Reilly boys and is very enlightening. There is one with young Carter Dalgety and others, so essential viewing and great to see some worthwhile interviews, as enthusiasts are interested in the history and background of the participants. Good marketing for harness.
  8. Top 4? It is only available on account so is a waste of time for most! For the Punters who do bet on Top 4, how much does the TAB allow them to win? To be able to win the cost of a bottle of wine, in my case is just pathetic!
  9. Sorry, not Kim Butt, but I think you couldve bought a lifetime supply of undies rather than backing Not Over! Hasnt run a place for 2 seasons and probably will not again, unless it is the West Coast circuit! Rising 8 year old so best days will be well past you would think, and todays field in the last was as weak as you are likely to get for race winners.

Walt, to be fair is there anything wrong with fake boobs? Far Better than sugar bags!!! You are correct, far better doing your own research, and choosing your selections! Thing is Craig over evaluates things, picks horses that really are not worth the risk for the return. He mostly selects the horses in the more tightly assessed races on the program, and any successful punter will know that is not the way to make money long term. Personally dont believe that ENTAIN “IS IN IT FOR YOU!!!!!!” The NZ TAB certainly was not interested in increasing the turnover on NZ harness racing over recent years at all!! It was all about making it as hard as they could for many punters to put on worthwhile amounts, and all about trying to keep the losing punters on board. They do this by money back bets and free bets! The money back maximum of $50 lol. Harness racing is only going to survive if they can attract wealthy owners into the sport and are able to maintain enough losing punters to make it viable. Problem is, are there enough new punters being attracted?
  11. The fields down south are much smaller than they have ever been! Hopefully they get more horses in work a d able to race i. The future or tgi gs will become dire down there!
  12. Lol I unblocked you Mike, couldnt do without your knowledge! You know you are a role model to many!😂
  13. Michael, enjoy your postings you are such an educated poster lol! think you should have some respect for Chief, who gives everyone an opportunity to post basically what they want to say! You dont have to agree with him, and to be calling him a Dickhead, is not very becoming of you! Personally never met Chief, but his postings always seem well thought out and researched!
  14. I have noticed over the past few weeks that the first 4 or 5 favourites place odds are all ridiculously under what they should be on opening!! You are probably correct that it is Entain’s policy to make it unattractive for punters to get on at fair odds! Not sure how many punters are actually still betting with the so called Bookies now, personally just can not be bothered at the moment and I am sure many others arent either. I do know the tote pools in many races are absolutely pathetic and they must be losing money? There can not be much being wagered with the Bookies when large bets are advised to us of $200 lol.
  15. I was under the impression that if Bookies shorten up odds, they should be lengthening out others? Havent had a punt for many weeks now as odds are not appealing as well as fields generally too even and not worth the risk! Just having a gander at Addington tomorrow night and seeing what the punters are offloading on. Race 5 a very even field with many chances and the Bookies have reduced the win odds on 4 horses reasonably significantly one of them $3.60 into $2.50 and the others by a 2 or $3. Interesting that they have not lengthened any of the other horses whatsoever! Is this what is a normal practice nowadays?
  16. Gamma, what track and distance and I take it that it is a mobile?
  17. Personally having another break from investing, as they are not easy at the moment to find anything worth offloading on, even if I could get enough on! Addington fields are basically the same horses each week and if there is something you like, the odds are not worth the effort. Watching still but I believe that the Bookies have been deliberately opening the odds on anything with a chance, far too short. Brodie will be back but quite enjoying not putting in the homework
  18. Women and young girls are doing a magnificent job nowadays in harness racing! We are indeed fortunate that there are so many females working in the industry, whether it be working in the stables, training and driving. Without so many in the industry now it would be struggling even more. You only need to look at sone of the Junior drivers races in recent years, some of the fields were half filled by female drives and most are very skilled horse people. We need to continue to entice them into harness racing as I believe that there doesnt seem to be as many males from racing families coming thru like they used to!
  19. Just having a gander at the fields for Invercargill on Friday. normally they would have good size fields and at least 10 races often more! Where are the horses down there at the moment, as there are only 8 races and only 60 horses lining up at this stage, which must be disappointing for the Club! Several races with 6 or 7 only, even the only maiden race has only 8 starters? Does anyone know why there is a lack of horses wanting to race at Invercargill, or is there a drop off of numbers in work down South?
  20. If it looked like mould, smelt like mould, it would be mould. what else would it be lol? The tenant doesn’t have to pay to have curtains tested for mould, but if they take over the property without mould on the curtains it is up to them to ensure that when they hand it back over, there is no mould! Any mould on the back of the curtains wouldve been picked up when the comprehensive initial property inspection report was completed by both parties!
  21. Na after my time!
  22. Walt, what areas have Labour done well in? Most incompetent useless bunch we could ever have had in Wellington unfortunately. Decimated the country and we are going to find out that we are in a worse position once the books are opened up! Someone with Robertsons lack of financial ability should never ever been in charge of finance!
  23. George Eliot is actually a filly. George Eliot was a pen name for a novelist way back in the 1800’s. not sure what is going on when owners name their male horses with female names, but there is too much of this LGBTQRS and goats stuff going on nowadays!! Why would you name a male horse, Granny Rose? There are others as well, world gone crazy!
  24. Galah, does seem to be excessive penalty for Alan Clark’s drive. It was only 1700metres and have seen so many much poorer drives from other drivers that result in no penalty whatsoever. In many cases the driver on the pacemaker would have handed up to Mr Clark, but the fact that Brad Williamson didnt seems to be the contributing factor here!!! Also not a supporter of Mr Clark when it comes to his ability to drive and he has driven so many more races worse than this one yesterday! Personally believe he has been hard done by on this occasion. The horse he drove actually went pretty well and if it keeps improving then there should be a win or two forthcoming.
  25. There were very few patrons on-course apparently last Sunday at Rangiora. The cost of living for many will mean that they haven’t got the discretionary $ to punt or the $ to drive out to Rangiora! To be fair unless you own a horse racing or work in the industry you probably wont bother going out unless it is a beautifully fine day and warm, when you can watch on TV or record and watch later! The TAB also are also not making it worth the while with their restrictions and AML BS that hopefully National/Act will ease up on?
